This is a beautiful rendition of a difficult piece of music. I did listen to you play this yesterday as soon as I received notification and decided to play my accordion along with you. It took me several times to get it right before I was in harmony. I learned this caprice in 1957 when I got it from Pietro Diero Jr.'s publications. I bought a lot of music from him way back then and still have it all today. If I put all the music I bought from Diero Publications in one box, it would weigh over 100 pounds. But I have two different transcriptions of this caprice, one Pietro Diero Sr. did of Puccini and another transcription by Liszt of Puccini. I'd never heard of the Shimchik transcription before. There's a lot of free sheet music online. Did you find Shimchik's transcription in the free stuff? When it comes to buying sheet music these days, I have no clue where to even begin because what shows up is a lot of free stuff which then become quite repetitious. I really like the sound of your Sonola. That sound is really special like my 11 treble registers Gold Series Scandalli of the 1950's. It just has that special tone in the reeds that doesn't sound like the usual accordion does. Speaking of special sound, there's an uploader named Willy Malaroda who plays a bayan tuned Mengascini. His latest upload is called Harlem Nocturne. Go listen to that and tell me if you don't hear a distinct saxophone sound in his reeds. Well Paul, that's it for the moment. Glad you have your Sonola back in great condition after missing it for 8 months and thank you for that wonderful caprice. May the Blessings Be, Richard.

Thank you Richard, I'm so glad you enjoyed this upload. I'll look into that Willy Malaroda channel you mentioned. Actually, it was my late brother who found this Shimchik version in the music stores back in Adelaide South Australia. It's an old Soviet publication. God bless you & have a very happy Thanksgiving! Here in Canada the harvest comes earlier so we celebrate Thanksgiving a month earlier than you do in the US.
