This was the sentence, that made me want the game - my daughter is autistic, and playing long games, is not an option. So a good short game is perfect ;-D
The input from your kids is really valuable. One question I care about is do kids enjoy it even when they don't win? This changes as kids age, but is maybe the most important.
Really looking forward to this. Since I was late to the board game party I'll snatch up pretty much any reprint/retheme of an older Knizia game, but it's nice to know that this one has held up and it's a really nice production.
Interesting that you say the rule book is easy to understand. I saw a lot of people commenting on bgg that the rule book was confusing for them. I wonder if that's because you have already played the previous implementation
Great to see Dice Tower kids next-gen! I remember Holly eating jelly beans out of the game boxes. I took a hiatus for a few years but, I've recently come back to watching Dice Tower again.
It might be just me, but this looks like it was filmed in front of a green screen. I don’t think it was, but it just has that look and my brain is confused.

I'm so glad I have a copy of the Galaxy: the Dark Ages implementation. Yeah, some of the art in the Equinox version is great (it's too much pastel IMO, but I understand that's appealing for some), but it seems like there's no thematic tie whatsoever now. Are these mythical creatures just outliving each other? I wonder if the powers have changed much, but even if they have I think I'd prefer any of the previous versions over this one. The Golem edition does look even nicer however.
With tarot-sized cards (in a game that's already a table hog) & unnecessary bags you're more justified in putting the game into a Carcassonne-sized box and charging a higher price as a result. A lot of people will think it's worth it for the quality of components, and fair enough, but this game seems really overproduced to me.
