I actually tried Vaseline on my lips recently and concluded that I’m done with any other lip moisturizer. In fact my lips stopped peeling or cracking immediately. I support you dr and recommend to all out there 👍👍👍
Quincy - no, I often will precede with a damp, warm washcloth before applying Vaseline, but not always. There are some conflicting comments on the internet, but that’s true of any topic. I went with my dermatologist recommendation, many years ago. I receive inquiries about my skin care regimen. In my mid 70s, skin looks very good. I place a towel over my pillow case.
@@quincysheedat9252 you are welcome! As mentioned, I’ve seen comments on the internet to avoid Vaseline, but listened to my dermatologist. The internet provides many opposing viewpoints. It’s been many decades and my primary doctor and a number of other persons have remarked upon my good skin quality, few wrinkles, etc and I’m coming up on 76. PS - I believe Vaseline is still recommended for babies and their skin care. That tells you a lot there. Good luck. Best recipe is take care of yourself, be as kind as what is reasonable and possible, and be happy! Best to you😊
I'm 68 yrs. old, have used this product since being a teenager. I have no wrinkles or fine lines, people don't believe I'm that old. I'm also an avid water drinker.
Good to hear it prevent wrinkles but for someone in her forties that already has visible lines around the mouth, could it help eliminate or make them less visible, thank you
I've been using this all my life from head to toe and I also used it on all of my children and they also used it on their own children too. It's very useful.
I use Vaseline for 60 years and it made my face look still young It makes my face looks really nice and really don’t have that many wrinkles and I’ll keep using it
My mom use Vaseline for years and believed in its beauty properties. She always apply a thin layer of Vaseline on her feet every night and put on her night socks and that’s the reason my mom has the most supple beautiful feet even at the age of 85.

Works especially ... on any raw, cuts, scrapes, ... kitchen burns, to quickly form .... a protective barrier .... on the skin ... to promote healing! 💓👍💕
i used to hate vaseline on lips coz it never seemed to help , in fact sometimes it felt like it made it worse, but I finally learnt a trick - a thin layer of moisturizer first THEN vaseline, works wonders for my lips. Now my lips are rarely ever cracked , which is totally new to me
My late grandmother Mrs. Willie Mae Brown always put layer of vaseline under her eyes. And I believe she put all over her face. When in the housing for the elderly, she told me that all of the ladies would ask her about her facial routine because she was in her eighties and did not have one wrinkle in her face. My grandmother had beautiful skin when she died. I will always remember that she used Vaseline and thats what I'm going to do use Vaseline...it works!
1. I use Vaseline on my dyshidrotic eczema and it’s has help reduce itching 2.use Vaseline on my face after bath and it’s has helped reduce pimples and he smoothen my face
I keep Aquaphor in my home and purse at all times for uses throughout the day.. Aquaphor is like vaseline on steroids? It makes an excellent leather cleaner also.
I just bought Vaseline not knowing how to use it. I'm glad that I found your video and people in the comment section are amazing with their Vaseline experience.
I had a cancer on side of my nose, dermatologist that removed it, said keep it lathered in Vaseline, it’s the. Est healer for and problems on the skin. It was a hole , on the side of my nose when-he was finished, my daughter almost fainted whenshe saw it. But guess what, I did as he said, it healed quite quickly and now it’s not even seen, have to know it’s there. Sold me, I use it on my lips everynignt, and face sometimes
Breaking news the elders taught us to use vaseline to oil and stretched our babies after bath, and also for the baby's bottom after each change, so that they won't chafed, and sore, but you have to wiped the bottom with a clean wet cloth before applying and we or most use it in the hair and scalp after washing the hair every weekend. I used it on my children's skin after a bath, it takes off scars and make the skin beautiful.
i used vaseline every morning , noon and night on my lips for two month strainght and no skip ,,,, and now my lips are more reddish and not dry anymore (but u must put vaseline la tho) !!
I use it as a moisturizer. It works very well for me on its own. Marilyn Monroe, a great beauty in her own time, used it in the earlier days of her career, because it works well and is not expensive.
I use Vaseline to rehydrate after being out in the sun it's brilliant I also use Vaseline on battery terminals to stop corrosion And lastly it's very good on interior door hinges to stop squeaking
@@OxOx_XoXo1 So true l have putting vaseline all over my face, around eyes , lips since l was 15 years old. I'm 61 years old and still use it every morning and night....l have no wrinkles and look half my age.l swear by Vaseline. 😘😁💜💜💜💋
I use it on my psoriasis and it’s practically gone now! It’s done a better job than my prescribed topical medication 😮 I also use it on my face nightly and I wake up with glowing skin. I LOVE this stuff!!!!
I use Vaseline for to stop frizzy and dry hair, after washing your hair drying hair with hair dryer makes hair dry so what you can do is just get tiny amount of Vaseline and rub it on your palm and apply thin layer on your hair ends, trust me it want make your hair greasy.
Word of warning though - when I was a teenager, fed up with my dry frizzy hair and unable to afford more expensive products, I had the bright idea of using vaseline - only I used a ton of the stuff and - oh, what a mistake!!! It took me about 3 wks of daily washes with dish soap to get if off and my hair condition was much worse - lesson learned lol!
I'm 63 and I been using vaseline all my life after my bath or shower, work best when skin is still damp. when I go to get my infusions all the nurses want to compliment and touch my skin they can't believe how smooth and soft it is. and we use to put it on our scalp.
Thank you !! so much for your information about Vaseline I’m using it on my skin made it big difference my skin is smooth glowing everyone is asking me what I’m using Vaseline !
Tho old women we’re talking one said I had a burglar last night the other said how did he get in she replied. I keep a wee jar of Vaseline on my nightstand
Yes! I always keep Vaseline Petrolium Jelly at home. And it can help me a lot specially when it comes the rashes, small cuts, burn and i will always uses it for my lips to prevent the dryness. I been using vaseline petrolium jelly for almost 8 yrs. And i absolutely love, :)
I honestly wondered wtf everyone's doing with their tubs of vaseline lol. I only ever used it for a small surgery cut or if I'm totally out of lip balm.
@@lagatita1623 using it on your body (in a specific amount) isn't greasy but I've never tried shaving w/ it and probably won't it doesn't seem like the best idea + vaseline is absolutely great to use on Ur body it keeps u moisturised at all times!!
All these things grandma and mother taught us. Vaseline is also good to put a thin layer on the face if you have to go out in the cold. It will protect your face from the cold don't forget to do the lips
The first Vaseline was created and manufactured in my town of Perth amboy New Jersey. It is an old town. William Franklin Benjamin Franklin son was one of its first governor. Vaseline is great for your cuticles.
@@danissegomez7953 I read somewhere says it helps some says it only moisturise the skin around. I don't use vaseline itself tho so I couldn't tell. I use them with coconut oil and it does help.
actually ive been using vaseline on my lashes for years, and it did lengthen and darken my lashes. but make sure not to let your eyelids left too oily. i fear that it will cause more unwanted problems. i only used it at night.
Yeah sure Vaseline is useful and has amazing results in all skin problems 💞🌹I can't live without Vaseline too💞great sharing Doc. New supporters here watching now from Saudi Arabia Riyadh 💞Godbless everyone 🙏
@@suziek888 Ha! Petroleum/crude oil isn’t the same thing as Petroleum Jelly. The stringent process of refining Petroleum Jelly makes it perfectly safe. I imagine you’d be surprised to know how many household items - from plastic to makeup - contained petroleum.
Vaseline is also very good for long screw into wood - just a little make it much easier to screw in, and electric use: a little layer on connection and you not get it corroded. - for me the Vaseline is for the garage or tool room
This comment is so cool!! "Everyone" describing the aesthetic uses of the product and out of nowhere someone comments that they use it in workshop projects! This is funny.
Can't wear heels, but I put Vaseline on my feet at night and socks, no crusty heels, & EVERYONE SAY I HAVE BEAUTIFUL FEET for a BIG WOMAN!!! 😂😳❤️😃😘👍👍. My Husband loved my feet. He once said: "I have the prettiest feet he'd ever seen!!!
Hi, I am using Olay retinol 24 night moisturiser once every few days, it cause my skin very dry. Can I apply Vaseline under or over retinol? or any better suggestion? Thanks!

A friendly Hello, Mrs. Min, from Cincinnati, OH...I'm curious what the Vaseline does for our eyebrows & eyelashes...Also, how do you apply it to your lashes without getting product in your eyes...Thank you so much for your tips...BTW, I use CeraVe &/or Veseline on my finger & toenails to keep them strong, shiny & healthy...It's stopped the stubborn problem of peeling/splitting of my nails...
@@poppykok5 It helps to darken your eyebrows and grow eyelashes..I use eyelashes brush to apply the vaseline..and of course it takes time to see the result but it does work..and you can use it as daily makeup as well to replace mascara to give more natural look
It’s true, I have been using this for years, on my face and feet over night... I never had a problem of cracking feet... it’s amazing . I still remember, while I was on quarantine, I forgot to take my Vaseline, I experienced skin problem on my face and put several other face creams. Nothing really helped me. Then I applied Vaseline it’s magically gone... I recommend Vaseline on face and feet
@@now_shine3325 because vaseline prevents water loss from everything it covers (for example your skin) you should use a moisturizer first and then apply a layer of vaseline, really good for skincaren and inexpensive. It is like it boosts the effect of a moisturizer. For me it helped with pimples on my cheeks so yeah I think it will help. But remember it is not a moisturizer so use a moisturizer first
The importance and effectiveness of vaseline cannot be overemphasized. It has worked for me over the years and so thank you Doc for sharing with the world
That's really funny that he mentioned vaseline on your face at night. I randomly started doing it (long before this video)) and noticed my face looks younger and fresher in the morning. Not at all greasy. Now I know why---it's trapping in the moisture. Thanks!
@@world8899 I don't I coat my feet with it and I put on sock's to sleep in and I take a shower or wash my feet and I sometimes do it a couple times a week depending on how Dry my feet are. Have a blessed day 🙏
I love Vaseline. I put a small dime sized portion and use on my hair to prevent frizz. I will put it on my feet with socks to bed and I keep it on hand at all times. Love this video 📹 thanks!
@@cyclops9202 mix it with castor oil or coconut oil, put a little in your hands and massage through your hair. Hope you have 4c hair type or somewhere around that line
I like using Vaseline almost every night on my face and neck. It prevents wrinkles from happening. I look approximately 20 years younger, and I attribute it to Vaseline.
I get extremely dry and rashy skin from an autoimmune disease. I’ve tried all the creams and lotions including prescription. Nothing soothed my hands and arms. Finally used my moms Vaseline and wow instant relief. No more itching, redness or dryness. I told my dr about it and she kinda rolled her eyes. I guess she has faith in the drug industry but I’m living with these symptoms not her. I’m never without Vaseline, have a jar in the bedroom and one in the living room.
I swear by god, my mother was taught by my granny of her dear divine vaseline's use. ANd yes, she taught me well too, and yes, she has a precious skin. I always looked at her weirdly, she uses vaseline EVERY single night. I thought it will cloge her pores, but it never really happened.
I'm 70, and have always had Vaseline at home. Since childhood, I've suffered from severe hay-fever and, after many years of misery, I tried rubbing a thin coat of it on the inside of my nostrils. It worked a treat, because it coated the sensitive areas and, therefore, prevented the pollen from reaching there!
@@littlemom2070 You'll need to keep a small tub of it with you when you're not at home, because it will need refreshing after you've blown your nose, etc. Don't use too much. Just a little coating of it as far up your nose as you can rub it. It also eases the soreness you get when your nose becomes raw. Stay well, wherever you are...;-)
I love slugging…luckily I’m a back sleeper. I also put it around my eyes after using my eye cream every night. It always makes me laugh when dermatologist (and other dr) say Vaseline is horrible! It’s from a refinery!!! Don’t use. Maybe they are trying to sell expensive services and products. I admit I was on the fence until I had a skin cancer biopsy sliced off and Dr put Vaseline on. Also my husband had grand mal seizure and landed on his face on our concrete garage. Unfortunately he scraped off layers of his face as he was seizing. Drs coated his face in ER and continually while he was in hospital with instructions to do for weeks after. Um, how bad could a product be to put on the rawest of skin? (FYI, he completely healed, no scarring)
I like to apply a face serum, then aloe and apply a bit of Vaseline on top. It works great to super moisturize the face and neck and super activate the serum and aloe into your skin.
I can vouch for Vaseline's efficacy as a diaper rash cream. It worked like a charm on my kid. Never had issues with recurring diaper rash after starting with Vaseline. Thanks for sharing this info! People need to hear this sort of stuff from medical professionals like you.
excellent video... my long-time dermatologist has always recommended using vaseline as a number-one Skin Barrier. Can't live without it, especially since finding out I'm allergic to gluten and have had so many problems with lipsticks. Thank you again for very informative segment
@@shenilewhite5856 Thanks to you ! Bought mine about 3 weeks ago. After a week of using, it completely healed the kerotosis pilaris on my right forearm & my cracked heel !
I use it all the time Omg yes when my children were babies I used all the time when I changed their nappies they never had sore bottom And yes I use it every night on my face I am always told I look younger than age
I have original moisturizing Jelly and healing jelly. Am using it in my cracked heels, dry lips. I tried use it for slugging but I got tiny bumps on my forehead and under eye.
Thank you for this, it was very helpful. Many years ago a woman came up to me in the gym change room and told me to stop using vaseline because it is blah blah (bad). She really got in my head and I haven't used it in many years. I really missed it, and wish busy bodies would keep their bad 'research' to themselves.
Dr. Dray a Dermatologist on You Tube talks about how so many people say it’s bad and it isn’t. They are getting their information confused. Look her up if you want. You may enjoy using it again.💕
Takes off .... eye makeup, mascara, quickly, .... moisturizes lips, ... soles of feet, .... with alternating, mixing .... creams, lotions of course! .... Glad to hear Dr, ....Vaseline is more purified today! ..... Some of us still feel, when we pick up the Vaseline tub, we are still lubing our "engines!" .... Close enough, as we age .... lol 💓😆 👍
I use this for about more than 6 years.. Apply on my lips only. Everyday. It soothe my lips from allergic. I used to allergic to any lipstick 😅😅. But now i can use lipstik freely. Love it 😘😘
