VATSIM Controlling LIVE with MSFS 2020 Tower View - Birmingham Airport BHX Ground, Delivery & Tower!

Launched the video and started seeking through the progress bar and kept thinking "When will he finally be taking off!" only to realise that you're the ATC controller :D First time I see VATSIM so got a big confused. Pretty cool though. I find it fascinating that people actually take their time to play ATC controllers in a game. Not something I would personally want to spend my weekends doing but respect the dedication from people like you :)

Haha! Tower cleared me to line up and wait behind the 787 and I didn't realise he didn't even roll yet. I told tower that I was fortunate not to have any hair to dry. Lol

Just watched this through at double speed ... can still understand your instructions as well as other fast-speaking controllers! Wow you were really busy at some stages! I must apologise for not getting there to show off the Manta Classic livery (boo?). I took off from Gibraltar at 0930Z but encountered no controllers until approaching Birmingham a bit before 1230Z. I switched to the correct Radar frequency just before SILVA and tried to make contact but no reply. I then received a couple of text messages from Radar directing me to different headings to avoid conflict (even though I was at the right height for the STAR and couldn't see anyone near on VATscope). As something was obviously wrong with my communications, I disconnected rather than try to complete the arrival on text. The reason for me writing this here is to publicise the fact to other newbies that unplugging a USB headset part way through the flight (to listen on speakers when getting out of the seat) and then plugging it back in is not a good idea! That has been suggested as the reason for not being able to send or receive on the headset when it became time to do so, as VPilot doesn't like that. After a quick lunch, I was about to spawn in at Birmingham for my second planned flight when family arrived to see us ... in the garden, of course, where our weather was rather better than what you were seeing in Birmingham! So I'll be waiting to hear about the next one ... but perturbed to hear the "invading Manchester" comment, as EGCC already seems to attract other controllers more than EGBB. Anyway, reading all this drivel will have taken up more of your already busy schedule. Thanks for all you've done to help in making what might have been a "temporary lockdown activity" into something that will now continue as a hobby for years ... when family allow!
