I got a good chuckle out of my wife during the ritual scene (when they all unzipped their vault suits) and I leaned over to her and said "Wow, I normally have to install mods for this content."

I can't believe it took me over a dozen re-watches before I noticed that Maximus was just watching a waterfall.

I like how Bud casually brushes off Cooper's comment about design flaws in the T45 power armor getting people killed as, "product management has never really been my bag". Then later, he says that the future of mankind boils down to one word, "management". So he admits that he sucks at management, and that he is also basing his plans for humanity's future on this same trait.

12:06 - You know, even though what Coop is saying comes out of nowhere and it's funny, I think the line is super underrated as a character moment for Coop. Yeah, Tallhand Mudlake could talk to HORSES. He's defending his Native friend's Native roots to the same Native friend. He wasn't just... "some generic Indian," and Coop remembers these small details, despite clearly being played as a John Wayne / Clint Eastwood kind of character whose heroics outshine the plot of any film starring Cooper Howard. It's almost like he was offended because the guy called his own character a "generic Indian," even knowing that with the timeframe and general atmosphere of that "Man from Deadhorse" scene, the dude's probably played "generic Indian" in every role he's been in. Look at his reaction to that - he knows Coop's a good dude.

0:45 I'm a huge fan of fallout 1&2… And I was exited to see them integrate shady sands into the show. But anyone that played those games knew something was up from episode 1, since the show is set in LA & California, and the NCR is nowhere to be seen. But imho it's perfectly fine. It fits very well into the fallout universe and lore. War never changes... If they had somehow integrated shady sands and the NCR, they probably would have had to mess with lore, and people would have complained anyway. This way, they can tell a great story in the fallout world, but start with a largely clean slate. So it's fine imo. They did a great job of integrating the old lore of the old games that started the whole franchise, that first set the tone, set the art style, etc, but not letting themselves be limited too much by it. They respected the lore that came before, and built on it, unlike so many franchises these days that spew out shitty reboots and prequels that crap all over the original lore. If you want to create a show in a franchise and world with well established lore and a well established fan base, this show is a great example of how to do it. 23:20 Its not the people from the vaults that are worshipping the "flame mother" or moldaver, its the surface dwellers that came to live in vault 4 after the NCR was destroyed that worship her. The vault dwellers brush it off as "surfie superstition". Important distinction.

Gun looks closer, but not identical, to an older Fallout speargun. The harpoon gun was massive compared to this thing. A harpoon isn't really something to carry, so maybe they did it deliberately to stay within manageable sizes? Hoping for more cameo appearances, like Codsworth, down the line in this series. Made me giggle like a little boy. Can't believe you guys are able to spread this out. I didn't plan it, but I ended up sitting through the whole thing in a single seating.

Nice theory about Moldaver and the Dread Pirate Roberts type title passed on. True or not, I expect she'd be comfortable in the Fire Swamp, being the Flame Mother and all. She might not build a summer home there, but the trees are actually quite lovely.
