In truth, it didn't look like nuclear explosions at all. What's wrong with current filmmakers? Could it be that very large high explosive bombs were detonated there? That would explain a lot.

10:27 This story like much of modern Star Wars borrowed from previous works, what came before. Palpatine played a bumbling fool part when being saved by Anakin and Obi-Wan from General Grievous. This is how Sith survived all these years, they had to learn to blend in and be unassuming. 11:18 I love how Yord went straight for the Cortosis bracelet and immediately hit Qimir's lightsaber with his own helmet. Say what you will about York, but the guy is an avid observer; he saw how Qimir was besting them, and he took that knowledge into round two. Sadly, it wasn't enough, but he gave the others a chance. I will miss Yord and Jecki. 12:15 If Capcom made a Jedi vs Sith fighting game, you would definitely hear the words for special attacks! I can see it now, instead of the announcer saying, "Fight!" We'd hear, "May the Force be with you." 13:10 The issue is killing with ANGER. Mace cut off Jango's head and nothing bad happened, remember? It's the whole striking someone down while enraged. Sol was pretty f'ing pissed right then. Osha saved him from a terrible fate. 14:10 I know this is a reaction video and for that to work well, you need to react in the moment, but sometimes you have to see the full picture to get it. This scene, the story as a whole really, worked for me. Mae has always been motivated by fear--she did what she did 16 years ago because she was afraid to lose her best friend, her sister. Fear makes us do stupid, stupid things. Did Mae really want to kill her sister? No! We know this because of how she acts now. She was hurt that her sister would choose strangers over her, over their family and that hurt built up into an uncontrollable anger that she couldn't control in the moment. There is still a part of this story being kept from us, and I suspect that it's coming next week or the week after that. I wouldn't be surprised if we learn that Mae went back and tried to put out the fire that she had started. While Osha was crawling through the pipes to escape the fire, we heard an explosion and all the witches crying out as one. Most watching don't believe that that was Mae's doing. I think the one(s) responsible for what Mother Koril really feared in the forest. Yes, the Jedi were a problem, as Jedi law approved by the Galactic Senate made them and their practice of the Force illegal. Anyone practicing the Force who wasn't Jedi was hunted down and arrested and/or killed. Their culture, religion, or what have you was taken from them; all books they had on their practices were confiscated and locked behind the doors of the Jedi archives on Coruscant. The Jedi might not have been the ones going around the galaxy harming all these other Force users, but they weren't out there fighting for those people's right to exist either. The pact the Jedi made with the Senate was reciprocal and they wanted to maintain that power of influence. The Jedi got to dictate how the Force was to be used, and the Senate approved that, and what they got in exchange was control over the Jedi. From the Jedi point of view, this is a sustainable balance of power that must stay in place, and it is what Master Vernestra wants to protect. She made it very clear in the second episode that the Jedi were already on shaky ground with the Senate. Jedi have political enemies, probably people from the inner rim who had their culture taken from them by the Jedi, and they were just one or two votes away from getting that culture back. The Jedi can't allow that because the last time Force usage went unchecked, the galaxy was embroiled in a war with the Sith. Wrong or right, Master Vernestra is determined to take care of this matter with a select few from the Jedi Security Council. If the Senate were to learn that what has happened was caused by a Sith, the Galaxy would be at war again, putting billions if not trillions of lives at risk. The Galaxy is at peace now, it makes sense that Vernestra would want to take care of this matter herself and sweep the matter under the rug as soon as humanly possible. Still, for her plan to work, someone, a Jedi most likely, is going to have to take a fall for all this. Episode two already laid the groundwork for this when Ki-Adi-Mundi introduced the audience to those who broke away from the Jedi Order, those labeled "rogue Jedi" and "a splinter order." In any case, they cannot let news of the Sith reach anyone in the now, as the entire Republic was built on the notion that the Sith were no more and that what they had done had worked. 15:12 I'm pretty sure Sol already knows he's talking to Mae. He spent the entire series addressing the twins by name to fall back to "she" and "your sister" here? Yeah, Sol knows who he's with. This day was a disaster, but there is a bit of a silver lining. Mae is willing to go with him, so long as he doesn't call her out right here. The Jedi came to Khofar to get Mae, so why jeopardize that now? Get to the ship! 15:50 Yet another hint that Qimir has an ability Palpatine said his master, Darth Plagueis had, the ability to keep those he cared about from dying. Episode two of the series made very strong connections to Palpatine, the Sith, the Dark Side of the Force, and the Witches of Brendok. Sith are witches! Maybe not witches from Mae and Osha's coven, but another one that was also on Brendok. The witches that alerted Mother Aniseya of the Jedi's arrival said that the Jedi sliced through their platform moments before the Jedi peacefully entered their court--why would they enter peacefully if they were willing to slice through platforms? Why did Master Indara insist Master Sol put his lightsaber away when she thought he was going to attack if they were on a mission of peace? What we heard and saw doesn't line up. The word Sith was spoken aloud for millennia at this time, so how would anyone know what one looked like? Sith were the antithesis of Jedi. How would someone who's never seen one know the difference between a Sith and Jedi? Lightsabers are a Jedi's signature weapon, so seeing a lightsaber slicing through a platform would make one think a Jedi did it! Color doesn't matter since Jedi are known to have different color lightsabers, and since the Jedi aren't always policing the Outer Rim what colors a Jedi chooses to use and not use wouldn't matter. A lightsaber is a lightsaber and the only people today using them are Jedi! 16:00 the story isn't over, and this isn't a standalone episode. We are supposed to be confused, but I think we've been given enough information to speculate what's coming. I think we're going to get the other side of that story, and I think we're going to learn that Mae isn't as bad as we thought she was. She's just a scared little girl who's motivated by fear. Yes, she was going to turn herself over to the Jedi because she needed protection from her master, but what do you do when the people you were going to go to for protection can't even protect themselves? You go with plan B and get the hell out of Dodge while the Jedi run defense for you. Mae and Osha are two sides of the same coin, and it was always their mother's intentions for them to stay together, as they balance each other out. Mae going with Sol and Osha going with Qimir, weirdly does that. Mae who's spent most of her life in darkness is about to see the light, and Osha who's spent most of her life in the light is about to be brought into darkness. What will that do to them? I guess we'll find out. I can't wait for the next episode =)
@burnbearscomedy
@burnbearscomedy 8 дней назад
Thank you for leaving such an awesome detailed comment. I think you're correct. I think Osha has more darkness in her than May does. I mean, we haven't gotten the true story of what happened that night. Sol could have used the force to wipe her mind or change her memories. Jedi of this era clearly are capable of that. Osha may see the power and the truth and embrace that darks side, while May may finally understand why Sol did whatever he did and embrace the light.

A lot of people have pointed out that when Qimir was doing his thing, the Kylo Ren music played. Does that mean he is an early Knight of Ren? Or maybe he is the first Ren? All we know about them is that they were around before the galactic civil war, supposedly for centuries, but idk stories of the boogie man can be weird and unreliable. But they were around. Everything else we know is from Kylo-ish time frame when a group of raiders who claimed to be them or named themselves after the legend of the knights popped out of obscurity to fill the force power void left by the fallen jedi and, subsequently, the fallen sith, as well. So maybe this is Qimir Ren, who actually started the knights... collecting the dark acolytes he so desperately wants. His vibe and outlook on the force is verrrry similar the theirs. Maybe Mae and/or Osha will be his first knight(s) by the end of the series. If he is the first Ren, that would mean he's not a sith, no formal training or adherence to the sith ways, but there's not yet a name for what he actually is bc he hasn't yet formed the knights. And that's why he's like... eh I'm not anything in particular, but sith is the closest you can get so that's what a jedi like you'd call me if you were looking for a label. Guys. The test to become a Knight was you had to kill someone and it had to be significant. What if Osha ends up killing Mae and/or Sol to become the first Knight...? 😬
@Heretic451
@Heretic451 8 дней назад
That's what I've been thinking.
@burnbearscomedy
@burnbearscomedy 8 дней назад
I'm not sure. The knights of Ren were basically never explained in the movies at least. They're just Kylo's hommies? lmao I have no idea. I think this is about 130-150 pre Kylo Ren though. So They'd be hella old by then.
@pemberliegh
@pemberliegh 8 дней назад
@@burnbearscomedy it's a squiffy bit of history. In the comics (I haven't read, I wiki'd), Kylo killed the previous Ren and took over the knights. But in the wiki, that group popped up claiming to be the legendary knights, which there are apparently "centuries" of legend about them as raiders in the unknown regions. So maybe the modern Kylo knights are tied to the ogs or maybe they just took a scary name to stand on the legend and be scary. In either case, it would def be like each Ren leader probably killed the former leader to take the title, like Kylo did. So mayyyybe this is the first Ren and maybe Osha will be his first Knight. And since killing a "worthy target" is how to become a Knight, in the modern times, maybe she will kill Sol without a weapon, when she learns whatever the jedi actually did. And he will make her his acolyte, his Knight. Idk. Qimir is much stronger with the force than most of the Rens/Knights in Kylos time - those were just modern darksiders that felt the dark side gave them their power and they believed in using it for their own ends in any way they want. Not unlike Qimirs goals, but without formal training, it's a much more diluted version. So bc of that, I think there's still room Qimir was trained by a sith (or maybe a fallen jedi). In this time period maybe Tenebrous? But he rejected the sith, maybe too controlling? And knows the jedi will come for him if they know about him. So he's on his own path. Idk. It's all tinfoil at this point. But that's the best part about a week to week... making them crazy theories! Hahah

From what I saw from one of the creators on twitter they had ep length limits. Like 4&5 were supposed to be one ep, but it was too long and they had to break it up bc the execs said so. I haven't been watching reactions for The Acolyte, because I didn't want to share in the disappointment I anticipated others were having in watching it. I have been watching reactions to this episode though, because the fights and acting were good, and I expect others would have enjoyed that as well. I am really hoping the last two episodes are good, and the season ends on a high note, but I share in Katie's want for the sith to have been the mother. It would have made soo much sense to me, the rage of losing that tribe/coven. Being the leader of them all, and that means their deaths are slightly on you, as you were the one in charge. You were trying to hide your people from the jedi, so they wouldn't harass you, and then they come in, kill your people, and take your children. It would have made sooo much sense. It would have been a rare time that you might actually have rooted for the sith character. Almost everything in the flashback episode was sadly pointless as well, since we had heard everything that was going to happen in it, as dialogue from the sisters and jedi. The only "new" thing I learned watching that one, was that their mother was very strong with the force, which would have made their mom having been the sith even more sensible.
@p-forest
@p-forest 12 дней назад
We're basically just past the mid point, plenty of time for the mother to be shown to be/have been this guy's master; I wouldn't be surprised, given Yord's comments about how he got into their minds, and then Mae saying her mother had the same ability. Also, I've read when an apprentice wants to take the place of their master, they need their own apprentice (acolyte)
