@@CSAN I'll be doing an update video on the challenge in a week or two. Everyone doing the challenge will be mentioned and I will add some more bars to my guardhouse- should be fun!
Cool, thank you for sharing, sorry things didn't come out real good, but it could have been worse also.. but you know what, I'm still thinking about jumping on board for the next go-around... 👍 So, thank you again for sharing...
I've seen a few Vault Box videos pop up on my RU-vid feed, but yours is the only Vault Box video I've watched so far. Now I thing I may have to check them out. You guys gamble, and I get to watch 🧐 I didn't know that much about the Boxes until now. Sorry Bro I wish you would have hit the jackpot. It's a bit like gambling with the thrill of the possibility of hitting it big. With that said, I've personally never been much of a gambler . I am a poor Loser 🙃
I got caught up in the fomo! My biggest concern was getting a couple nickels or something like that. You would think for 229.00 you would get better coins but that's not the case for most buying the Vault Box. I knew better and did this anyway. It was fun, so not a total loss😊👍
I thought so as well- interesting. Underwhelming, I felt they could have done better for 229.00 per box. Curious to see where this Vault Box thing goes in the future.
At least you got half your money back ... That's better than Las Vegas odds... and a couple of nice coins too ... I call it a win that stings a little.. Thanks for showing them off !
I passed on these from watching you tube videos, also i tried buying sports cards like this and always took a loss. Good video for someone to learn from
I like the concept and the different slabs. Series one and two where graded 1-10 like baseball cards. At the end of the day, your better off just buying a coin you like, imo.
Saw a few videos about these VaultBox but your explanation is the best. Thanks for sharing Struck, though sorry they didn’t turn out for the best. Cheers ✌🏻😊
It's gambling, i totally understand the draw it has. If I lived 30 minutes from a casino, I'd be dead broke forever more, thankfully its a 2+ hour drive to the nearest one in Oklahoma. Knowing how i am, I've passed on all the V.B. Series. I spend enough on morgan/peace dollars every month as it is and still get pissed if what I buy doesnt quite match up with what I paid so I know being pissed would be a V.B. result. Really appreciate you accepting the challenge so we non-participants can see whats what.
Excellent comment, thank you! I share your view- it's a silver scratch ticket in regard to VB. Figured I'd take a shot after passing on the first two. The main reason I was really suckered into it was for the collectability of the red core and the series as a whole. That said, really not sure if the VB slabs will be collectable in the future.
Oh yeah-When she found out what I spent on mystery coins, I got the look, lol! I saw Pirates video as well. Not the best way to go but it was fun to dream!
Lets see what you got dawg! Too steep for me, but exciting to see some people take a shot at it! Morgan & Peace dollar, not bad, but not great either. You gonna keep em or sell em'?! They value about double that retail, their buy it now price is a bit low... Thanks for sharing man!
I don't know if I'll keep these or not. Maybe I'll keep them on my desk for a while to remind me to wise up, lol! Thank you for mentioning the values, I had not considered shopping these coins around yet and did not know Vault Box was on the low side. Good to see you Pirate, take care man
Very interesting my friend but I think I'll just buy my own Morgans. I am a gambler and it's always a possibility but your experience ain't making me in no hurry. MS63 is the lowest grade I'd buy in a common date morgan. Obviously key dates I'd go lower to get one. That Peace dollar is kind of a bummer. Of course if you got a MS66 "CC" Morgan we'd be singing a diffrent tune. At least you tried. I was pulling for you my friend. Thanks for sharing that!
It was a gamble for sure. Could have been worse I suppose, lol! That Peace dollar is nothing special but I like the Morgan. Thought I'd give the Vault Box experience a try😊
It is fun to watch. However it seems all the video I have seen the result is the same.. I may do a video with my thoughts about this. Would you send me a empty fault box if I pay for shipping? I want the box for a video lol
Hey NS! Yup, I've seen more and more people buy these. It's pretty exciting to think u could get something nice for the 299 price point. I was not one of the lucky ones😅
I had a weak moment and gambled! Way better to shop the coin you want instead of opening a random one for sure. Thank you for watching Oceans. Hoping to make the next auction on the 12th!
@@SilverStruck awesome thanks! I mean nothing wrong with buying these products, it’s just that it’s essentially the same as going to a casino, so it should be for fun. 🔥🦈🌊
I’m not a big fan of mystery boxes. I don’t buy mystery bags, It’s definitely a gamble. I would agree with you, at least you got a Morgan and Peace. It wasn’t a big winner but it could have been worse.
great video thanks for shareing . they could have put millions of really nice coins in those holder why in the world did they put a worn peace dollar in this series in the 1st place. rubs me the wrong way for the price.
Right on, I agree. When I opened the MS62 Morgan, I thought...at least I got a nice Mint State coin. Opening the AU Peace dollar was like getting a half eaten sandwich in a box, lol! Ugly coin. Lesson learned, I gave it a shot.
I kinda wanted to get some of the Vault box releases just to unbox on the channel. Adds a little spice to stack-collecting. Havent seen much that people have received that were worth the purchase price though.
In most gambling scenarios one to three people win and everybody else loses. At least with Vaultbox everybody gets something back, and from the videos i've seen it seems most get about half their 'investment' back. I won't call this a scam.
You have a point, at least you get something for the risk. Now that I have done this and had the Vault Box experience- I'll go back to normal collecting😊
Totally- who knew we would have gambling numismatic slabs, lol! Now that experiment is over with for me and onto more normal collecting moving forward.
I have done these mystery type boxes before and you almost never come out ahead. I rather know what I buy and get something I like rather than take a 1:1000 chance i'm gonna hit pay dirt. At least you show others in the community your experience.
I stayed away, because I'm not a Morgan or Peace dollar guy. I feel like those coins will have no value in the future. I'm in my 40s and have no interest in them, so I doubt anyone younger than I am will buy them from me 20 years down the road.
It's totally possible the younger generation has little interest in Morgan's, we will have to wait and see. I'm in my late 40's and love collecting Morgan's.
Coin Facts showed retail values of $185 for each dollar you received. About right, considering the premium that comes with the gamble. But not for everyone. I still haven't bit yet.
Great idea for video SS appreciate u sharing ur experience with VB with us. I'm not a fan of this sort of thing cuz I never seem to get lucky. Also enjoy hunting and negotiating for something tangable in my hand. FYI I'm looking for a 7oz Atlantis Mint poured silver skull and cross bones bar or (2) please lmk if u know of anyone in community willing to part with 1 or 2. Last bar I need to complete my set. Have bars I can trade or willing to pay decent money for said bar. Thanks man and as always Live Free or Die!
I must catch up on your videos, I see more shorts posted. I'll keep my eyes open for that Atlantis bar for you. Heading to Canada for a couple days. I'll hit up a LCS over that way if I can and fish in a different pond for once.
@@SilverStruck Always fun to check out diff LCS. I tried a new one in Plaistow this week. Dan's this Sat. Enjoy ur trip and I super appreciate u keepn an eye out for me. I willing to go up to 325 (generous?) I think? Ya that's the problem I dont do any videos. I'm no tech guy, lucky to figure out shorts ha! Honestly should try tho sometime. Have a good one S.S.
@@AGAUaddict 325.00 should do it. Not all dealers know what an Atlantis bar is, so they treat as generic silver. If I see it by chance, I will certainly let you know my friend!
@@SilverStruck So true. Believe it or not got just about everyone I have from what they call treasure chest basket. Got the 2 and 3oz for 55 and 81 respectfully. Thanks for keepn an eye out👍✌ S.S.
They got me on possible gold nuggets and older US coinage from the 1700's, lol! Thought I'd try it out and see how it all worked. Now that I've done that once- good enough for me.
@SilverStruck omg I seen one of those gold nuggets in another video from the vault box and i was drooling over it lol. I've always want a gold nugget. Have u ever thought about buying any on ebay? I've looked on ebay at the gold nuggets and some look awesome but I've never bought anything off eBay before so I was nervous to pull the triggr on one at the time
@@silverking8742 I have thought about buying gold nuggets for the neatness factor but also have never pulled the trigger on any. I like gold coins the best- highly recognized
I was in suspense the whole video. Really well done. To Bad about the loss though. I would have purchased one or two but couldnt get my order in. Probably a good thing . I dont believe Ive seen any red core coins so far in series 3
Thank you for the kind words and support! This was not the brightest way to go about collecting, you most likely saved yourself some fiat missing out. I saw a YT channel open the red core 3 gram gold, so he did ok. They only valued that at about 295.00 for the buy back, so the juice isn't worth the squeeze considering the risk, imo.
That's because Trident is a reasonable man. Buying a coin sight unseen for 229.00 is not the way to go. Felt a little like someone took my lunch money in grade school, lol!
@@SilverStruck No problem. It’s the first and last of yours I’ll watch. Who wants to see a 3 minute video turned into 10 minutes while you yak and try to hide the coin. Viewers aren’t interested in drama, just open the coins.
