I still have all my baseball cards from late 70s and really 80s. I loved paying a quarter and get gum and look for your favorite baseball players. Diff time and Era when baseball was the American sport.
I was disappointed to waste 1hr trying to buy one online. Just to turn on Whatnot to see many sellers with 20 plus Vaultboxes selling them for $440 each and up
Dealer's had first pick and choice of how many. No way they limited two per household to dealers. This vault box was not for the people but for the retailers. It's okay. Most who purchased were highly dissatisfied with the finds. Oh well 😅
@@mrsspegtacular6484 no I was shut out online. There was network issues with the website. When I finally got to my cart there was 8 boxes in there so I had to remove the extra to move onto the payment screen. Then while I was waiting to hit place order. The sold out screen came up.
I watched several videos of Vault Box Series 3 openings. The vast majority are black with coins retailing from about $95 to $175 each and one gold nugget valued around $185. I've seen four reds. One had a gold nugget valued about $260. Then there was an 1892-O Morgan in MS-62 retailing for around $360, an 1871 Seated Liberty dollar in VF retailing for about $500, and an 1869 Three Cent Nickel pattern in PF-63 which a similar coin sold for over $2,500. Instead of buying a Vault Box, go to your local coin dealer so you can see what you're buying. You'll get a much better buy.
Awesome Gold Nugget in the One box !! The rest were not so hot !! After watching a few unboxing these Vault Boxes I’m glad I purchased Gold coin instead !!
Very nice Speg. Thanks for sharing. I like the Goldbacks too--would love to have a complete denomination set from each of the states printed. As for the vault box, I am in the group you mentioned that would not want to gamble a pig in a poke. For the $1,000 you spent, you could have purchased an ungraded almost good or good condition Lincoln 1909-s VDB cent. And since yours makes 11 boxes I have seen open, and not one was a red slab. So who knows what the percentage is of the red slab versus all of the others. Too rich for me anyway.
Very cool. I guess it is the thrill of maybe getting something "Big" like hitting the Mega Ball. Not anything that I would get involved with. TY for sharing. P.S. The 2-gram gold nugget is a pretty awesome piece, Is it odd to say I would have liked to have found that in a stream bed? LOL, 2 Grams of gold is a little over $180.00 dollars US
Thanks for sharing! I didn't realized this was a thing until they were sold out. I probably would have tried for one. It's a cool idea that can spark interest in the hobby.
So if you take it to a small town veterinary clinic you could have them X-ray it, you would be able to see what the coin is and some of the label as the ink on the NGC label has a very small amount of metal in it. Kinda makes me wonder if some sellers are doing that so they can find and keep the good ones and sell just the lower value ones.
Thanks Speg! Enjoyed the suspense and excitement of the openings as much as I would have had I ordered 4 myself…and saved around $500 at the same time.
Cool unboxing. I usually skip all unboxing videos, but because of the comment I made yesterday about vault box, I decided to watch. And for me, this is another step away. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Interesting collection of items, Speg....I do like the nugget the best....I guess. I doubt I would ever get on on these... just not my thing but thanks so much for sharing your items... greatly appreciated! Looking forward to seeing more Coin Guy! Take care, be safe and God bless!
I missed the boat on Series 3, they were sold out by the time I attempted to purchase. I still have 2 of the Series 2 that I’m on the fence of opening or flipping on eBay.
Look at it this way. Essentially, no different than buying from the mint. Any purchase is a gamble. Preferential treatment to commercial sellers? Im aure the quality control os tighter. Sorry, Im auppose to be qorking on being so cynical 😅
Nugget is worth $175. 1885 O is worth about $210. 1891 is worth about $120. The quarter is worth $18. Sorry! So you paid $1000 for $523. Great video. Makes me understand why I decided not to get any.
@@Spegtacular There is also the aspect of getting something that you don't normally collect, which is fun. I collect $1s and of course gold so that wouldn't have been too bad for me.
My point...is it worth the money. I am figuring out that there are more rip-offs then I thought there would be. I found that the Ebay coin dealers are very dishonest.
I got as much satisfaction watching you open them and reveal each slab than I would buying $500 in lotto tickets and losing. Did you make out ahead….no! Was it fun to watch…yes! I agree with you the gold nugget is cool. Might be worth selling the rest while the hype is still high and try to recoup as much of your “investment” as you can.
hello speg. , where would be a good place to start to find a gold nugget ,like the one you have? that's legit with the Wright paper work. great video also. the price ,not so good. have a happy!
Speg I appreciate you actually putting your money where your mouth is. Versus other content creators that just talk and talk and talk about stuff you actually buy stuff and show us the real life stuff you get. Sub for life bro.
Thank you Speg! Just crazy what we learn..I guess I'm on the side, of stuff like this being rigged.. just like tne McDonald's Monopoly game was, that the company said it would never be rigged... you just never know 🤷♂️👍🇺🇸
That’s so wrong and typically what people with no channel believe a content creator is making. It’s not your fault but it’s wildly incorrect. I’ll likely make a whopping $15-$20 on THIS video
So far have seen nothing but a waste of greenbacks, what a money grabbing idea from NGC!! could have bought another 10 oz bar at that total price. Sorry Speg😢
Every VaultBox release has sold out quickly. So yes, they are doing something right. It definitely brings sports card type excitement to the coin world. Although at a much higher price tag. I appreciate them doing something to change things up. I would love to see the Mint get involved by releasing special coins into the wild. Something needs to be done because the old group of collectors holding the hobby up aren't going to be around forever. Cheers!
You hear that loud sound from these sucking all of the hobby money from the buyers and funneling it to the marketers? Can’t believe people are paying 2-3x for these on the secondary market. Just going to make the losses they incur that much worse.
looks like ngc is cashing in on the lottery system finally.,., let's see the weigh in on 1000 of those golden tickets and then the sale price.,., and don't let the cops bust you with that knife., it's on the enemy of the state watchlist.,., because they care.,., ';'
