This is definitely a second safe choice for the bedroom. Meaning you already have a dedicated big safe with the majority of your firearms and other valuables. I would get this vaultek as a 2nd one for my bedroom to keep a single rifle/shotgun with a pistol combo in there for home defense.

This is my apartment safe. I can't move a liberty safe up 10 flights of stairs with ease even if I use the elevator, not to mention it wouldn't fit through the door frame.

I recently got one of these (my first rifle safe, just got my first rifle since I was growing up on the farm), and I love it. Like you said, it is a great fast-access safe, and it will ultimately be just that for me, as eventually I will be getting a much larger/heavier safe for my main storage solution. For what it is intended to be, I think it works great. Love the modularity.

I have had this safe now for about 18 months. It’s not for everyone and it is pricey, but I am very happy with it. I use if mostly for handguns - I only have one carbine with a red dot mounted and it fits just fine, even with the pegboard on the door. I live in a gated community and also have a security system and cameras, so I don’t need or want a huge, heavy safe. I will say that if you are willing to pay this much and like the Vaultek features, consider the 800. If you are storing long guns (assume that’s why most would buy it) or even pistols, you will benefit greatly from the extra depth.

These are great for apartments, I have two SecureIt 52s. The issue is with weapon lights and sling points will require further space between weapons. Items like this are best suited for one or two long guns or shotgun with a pistol or two. Again, a great option for apartments.

I actually have owned this safe since December 2019 and it’s perfect for me since I move around a lot. It’s easy to take with me wherever I move and still have the ability to have a ride safe

One thing to clarify is these are considered quick access safes. They are durable and secure enough to keep kids and unwanted hands off of. I cannot speak about someone actively trying to break into them because I haven’t tried to break into mine. But for a gun on demand without leaving it under a bed or in a bedside drawer these are great. If you want more security get a more robust safe. However, more robust safes will not grant you access this quickly. With practice you can access a firearm in the dark within 2 seconds.

I have the rs200i (the smaller one) and I love it! It’s perfect for me since I only have a couple rifles and a pistol. I also live in an apartment which makes it the ultimate safe for me and my needs.

I personally took a chance and bought this safe specifically for quick access to home defense weapons in case something goes bump in the night. I have been extremely happy with this product and Vaultek's customer service. The safe came shipped with the smallest ding from UPS debauchery and Vaultek refunded me $200.00 for the inconvenience without issue or argument. This does not REPLACE my large, heavily fortified gun safe in my home, but COMPLIMENTS it for quick access in an area that I would NOT place a heavy safe. Excellent review @sundaygunday

I would love to see a future upgrade on this safe, which would be a video camera built into the keypad panel (ala Ring doorbell) that also records who is in front of the safe trying to gain access. This could be beneficial if needing to supply law enforcement with a picture of a perp who broke into the house and attempted to break into the safe.

The price goes into the technology in the electronica part of the safe other than that it’s at casual safe with high in technology and opening it. It’s like picking different iPhone models you got the iPhone model that’s $1000 with the bells and whistle‘s and then you got the SE model which is a regular model without all the bells and whistle‘s

Awesome review. Vaultek is a great company with excellent gun safes. I already have the MX, 20 series, and lifepod 2.0 (for my trunk). The MX and 20 series are great quick-access safes and extremely reliable (lifepod is great but slower access with the latches which doesn't matter). Unfortunately I have to wait to purchase a long-gun safe until I leave my brain-dead voting State of Connecticut when I will be able to purchase the LRs of my choice.

I own this safe as my primary safe which it’s bolted to the floor and a stud in the wall its not going anywhere and to see people actually saying the gov can access the safe through the WiFi is absolutely ridiculous and hilarious but non the less loved the video i have mine setup somewhat like you had with the 5 rifles i have 4 (3 ar15 1 shotgun) along with 2 pistol racks and the EDC tray which holds my edc gun so this thing can definitely pack out nicely 5 pistols and 4 rifles isn’t bad at all keep up the good vids hope the trip is going well🤙🏼🤙🏼

Sweet review. All the functionality is all the same with most of them I guess. I just got the mx series wifi in February. Couldnt be happier. While I love the accessories and options of this, I personally prefer a covert safe like a coffee table or nightstand with an interior that can hold rifles/pistols. Anybody looking for a gun in a house wouldn't really think to pull apart tables and furniture, but if a gun safe is seen they will probably try and bust it open or just take the whole thing if they can drag it out.

Honestly if I did have the money I would buy it. Hopefully I would never need to, Because my kids will be educated about guns, but if they were about to make a bad decision or try to impress a friend, I could potentially save their life and provide an opportunity to have a much needed talk instead of something far worse. BIG PRO in my opinion.

I like this video a lot. I think this would be a great quick access option. And I personally like the connectivity ability to know if someone is messing with my safe. Time to start saving my pennies. I assume you could even hang a rifle from the door so you would grab your home defense rifle each time?

Great rundown on a safe that I am considering purchasing.

If you lay it on it's back (say I want to mount it to an under bed drawer) since it doesnt have a handle, is it hard to open that way?

I know this is a stretch but have you considered mounting this or something similar to this in the van? I know that you do a decent amount of travel in there now. Maybe something mounted to a cabinet or the floor of the van could be a huge benefit.

Looks awesome, could be bolted to your van floor under your bed :) motion sensor would go nuts though :)

Good video. My immediate needs are 2 rifles, 1 shotgun, 2 pistols. And to keep my 5 year old away. There are other home security measures in play that I am addressing and many miss. Perfect bedroom safe. I reviewed the Verifisafe with the only access being an FBI biometric that is supposed to be superior thus keypad or smart key. It does have a back up hard key access. I like the organization of this better. And seems more robust than the Secure It Agile Ultra Light gun safe aka cabinet.

You should review a Bulgarian Makarov for one Sunday gunday, it is both a piece of history but budget minded which many of your subs want to hear about. It is also something you haven't done before that I for one would find interesting to know what you think of the Makarov

I've been looking at this safe as well as some larger dedicated safes. Personally, the price point is why I won't spring for the Vaultek. The features are cool, but I want the safe for storage purposes more than accessibility. I'd rather have a larger safe with less features at this point in my life. As a couple others have mentioned, I'm curious to see what people like the Lock Picking Lawyer can do to that key lock.

Idk how much a biometric scanner is but if they could have a budget model without that it would be more attainable. It already has a quick keypad and the remote.

Looks like a good option for someone like me. I have 5 rifles, and 6 pistols. I also rent my home, so bolting to the floor isn't a good option. One question, if you have it plugged into wall power, and have a battery installed, if the power goes out will the battery kick in automatically and allow backup power in the event of power loss?

the emergency access key is the culprit of that safe. It can be picked within 2 minutes with a key combiner you can purchase on amazon...

It seems like it's not taking up like any space.. I might have to snag one of these.

This is a innovative idea -So to better clarify on the “ hacking “ thought- it’s that this safe when hooked up to wifi is on an unprotected network on the internet of things - so potentially it’s that a good hacker can get on this network to get onto your house WiFi address and then cause problems if you’re just a simple user and don’t have security protocols set in place - am I right ? You’re the tech guru - I am not - but I do like this vault!

Do you know if there any fireproofing incorporated into this safe? Also, what is the battery life on the locking mechanism like, and how easy do they make changing the batteries out if they start to get low?

What if you rent and can’t bolt to the ground?

Will this safe possibly take any water damage or fire damage at all if it ever happens?
