This video is a quick journey that we did to IKEA in Milton Keynes. I started the journey not on 100% just to see if the car under estimates the range and I didn't even know where I was going to charge. It was a stab in the dark really not knowing where I would charge.
About the Channel
I have started this channel as a novice and a new electric car owner. I will document the adventures of changing from Combustion/diesel engine to Electric vehicle.
I will share news and other car reviews that I can get hold of, with the emphasis on spreading good news about electric vehicles and debunking scare stories out there about switching. I will be as honest as possible and hopefully build a community of new electric car owners and drivers. I will share any issues I encounter and how did I dealt with them. This will include what electric tariff I am on to best serve me. The road may appear bumpy but so far, i am loving the EV.

Revisiting your RU-vid channel now that I'm an EV owner. I had the same problem with the Gridserve chargers at Warwick services . Some body stopped my charge because they were in a hurry and wanted the charger Luckily I had enough charge to complete my journey. By the way I'm now following you on Twitter, it's been nice following your journey.

Congratulations mate ! What EV did you get? It’s good time as the cost of fuel is crazy and EV cannot be found anywhere any more. If you find one it’s very pricey. Enjoy the journey and it takes time. It took us 6 months to fully understand and not worry about charging. That’s not right? How did they manage to take the ccs charger from your car? Unless they were taking the AC. It’s wise to keep checking the app to see if it’s still charging.

@@letsgoelectriclge1320 I test drove most of the new cars,but ended up ordering an Ioniq5. After a 5 month wait I cancelled it and found a Jaguar I pace at my local Land-rover Jaguar dealership. It's a fantastic car with loads of style. Hi you can view the percentage on the screen my dad has the Corsa E where you reset your miles if you press the same button again on the end of the indicator stalk it shows the percentage 👍

@@letsgoelectriclge1320 The button is to set/re-set odometer but to scroll through the various screen views twist the dial on the stalk immediately below this button. There are several views available, one of which shows percentage remaining & charge rate etc. Not clear in owners manual , which is useless as you have to search through all sorts of irrelevant details on petrol & diesel variants to find anything for EV models. I found by trial & error how to use a lot of the functions !

@@letsgoelectriclge1320 That's really odd, as mine does. Not a long press which resets but just a short press should scroll through trip 1, trip 2 & then information showing percentage left.etc

It will never happen. If anybody else wants to stop a charge, all they have to do is press the emergency button. That facility will never be removed on safety grounds.

I agree on the safety aspect Steve but they stopped mine instead of theirs which was on a CCS and mine was on AC charging. They should not be able to switch of someone’s charge by error or malice but card payment to confirm would be ideal to allow one to stop. In emergency situations then it’s understandable

Only problem is with these Gridserve units.. you can only charge one vehicle at any one time.

Hi, I disagree, you can have the AC charge in at the same time. its about not allowing the other CCS charger to be able to disconnect the AC charging person.

@@letsgoelectriclge1320 ah that’s interesting.. I was charging at a Gridserve unit near Heathrow last week in my ID.3 with the CCS and someone attempted to use the AC with no luck as it wouldn’t activate… probably the unit however I will note that it didn’t end my charge.

Two vehicles on the same charger is a problem as maybe the guy using the ccs stopped his and your charge at the same time .No expert but maybe that happened

I agree but it shouldn't work like that. The payment card should be the one to allow you to stop a charge. That's exactly what happened

A couple of questions, what is an ap? And do you have to have an ap to own one of these vehicles? I have thought about owning an electric vehicle, I have found out that I will need a card of some description to own one of these vehicles

Most EVs have their own App for you to see the car status e.g. battery level, locked or finding where you parked the car. Sorry if that was not clear but EV driving is awesome. Watch and research as much and see if one is good for you. Manufacturers now allow you to come and drive their cars if you are still thinking and not made up your mind.

@@letsgoelectriclge1320 I'm not technically minded, I don't even know what an ap is or how or if you get one, I now know it tells you about your vehicle, but that's all, I'm not young by any means, but I will still be working after 2030, my knowledge of computers is you tube, someone built me a computer so I could watch you tube when I was hospitalised for a month, I tried something, I can't even remember what it was so long ago and it went wrong, they fixed the issue and all I use my computer for is you tube, how are others like myself expected to understand aps and all the technical charge units? I've watched videos on charging vehicles, it's far too complicated for older people like myself, I would like to own an electric vehicle but it's far too complicated, cards, memberships, aps, I guess it's a good way of keeping people off the road, but even public transport is going the same way, technology is making people antisocial because it's so complicated

Hi brother I want to buy vauxhall Corsa e Sri nav premium edition but I'm not sure some people are saying Corsa e doesn't give you guarantee full charge millage like 209 miles so I'm so confuse cold weather reducing the millage ? Are you recommended to buy vauxhall Corsa e Sri nav premium edition?

Hey man! Tricky one for you but l can assure you that all electric cars lose between 15-20% range in winter so not sure where you can turn to. It also depends if you are a motorway driver or city driver too as the CorsaE does not like motorway. So it’s up to you and your use of the vehicle and also budget as the CorsaE is a good starting point then explore others afterwards.
