Hey Bjørn, I just recently camped in the e-208 and found out before my trip how to keep climate on. Seatbelt on, start car, put it in neutral(I do belive park will work to), handbrake on and now the important part: never open driver door! (if door is opened and closed after car is on it will turn off car in 15 minutes or something). So the trick is to start the car from inside without being in the driver seat. This worked every time, and note that I have the latest firmware. Going on my second sleepover trip with 208 this weekend, hopefully all goes well again.
I would say wait times should be an extra column in you're excel sheets. Because otherwise the non Tesla cars are not comparable, if you drive one on the weekend and the other in the week. Waiting times would be different then.
From MER, chargers getting overheated.
good shit Björn! We own the Corsa-e for one year now. But i never dared to sleep in it, that is only for ninjas ;-) We are very happy with the car, the only downside is the software and app. So things that could be fixed, lets hope they care. There is a firmware update that increases charging speed.
I've been trying to get that MER charger at Steinkjer to work for a "long time" now. It worked the first few times, but it started stopping every 15 minutes or so, not a big issue, but next time it was every 5 minutes, and then every 1 minute. Tried it several times over 2-3 weeks and it kept failing every 30-60 seconds. Others were having slight issues starting charging also but it never did the same thing as my car, but noticed that every time, there was some ID3 or ID4 owner plugged in and working without issues.. all the time. I cleaned the charge port on my car tried it again and it worked perfectly.. that time. Next time, stopped after 5 seconds, every time, but it reported "pu temperature fault" that time, unlike the previos where it just "stopped".. no way to get charged at all. And ID4 owner pulled up and charged with no issues on the same charger.. both sides has same issue for me, ID4 had problem to start on one side, switched side, and ID4 charged fine, my car just kept getting error. Seeing a pattern here.. I think those chargers are having a really hard time.. and the cables are just a mess.. it is not like Ionoty where the cables are suspended, they are just being dragged around, probably run over by cars, and keep getting tangled and twiested all the time.. And when it is plugged in it really pulls downward on the charge port of just the weight of the cable
A features i will insist on when buying my first ev will be the ability to have the heater on continuously when parked up. One of the reasons for buying an ev for me is to use it for occasional overnight sleeping and a place to hang out in if i need to because unlike a piston car you don't need to have an engine running to create heat.
+1 on that. That is probably the feature I like the most with my Kia E-Niro compared to any ice car. It´s absolutely insane that someone that makes electric cars don´t implement it in a new EV. Probably the same persons that decided to not show the charging speed in kW:s... Another example of a car that could have become so much better if you just spend half an hour with someone that have some experience with EV:s.
I get what you're saying about the speakers 😂 if you drive a Peugeot you basically have to turn on loudness and put the bass option all the way up to +9 or max to feel something...
Nice cliff hanger, looking forward to Part 2... I found a similar audio issue is a 308... it sounds so nice when stationay then the bass dissapears at the higher volumes you need when your on the move. That Extra £30 on power supply design and componenets for the amps would of made all the differernce and make me want to buy the car...
Hello Bjorn Why don't you place a heavy bag on the driver's seat hopefully this would trick the car into running the climate control All electric cars should come with a camp mode...... Some of the manufacturers obviously don't watch your video's ..... Having the option to stealth camp in electric cars is a fantastic bonus
@@bjornnyland Bjorn Have you seen a film called Ferris bueller's day off (It's a good comedy) ... I think you would have to Jack the car up and set the cruise control .. lol. In the UK we have quite a few 22KW type 2 chargers that Are free to use but how many car's and Vans can fully utilize this Bjorn ... It would be great if Tesla updated the model 3 to 22kw type 2 and fit HUD to the windscreen plus make the model 3 in a hatchback instead of the fixed boot.
I find it quite intereseting how much the energyconsumption changes depending on elevation change. Perhaps you could analysethis data you have with many cars and make someconclusions.
Someone should put a dummy head mic in a bunch of different EVs with the same test material to compare the sound levels when driving.. and the quality of music playback.
I think you should count the total time, not take away becouse of waiting time or bad charing time, otherwise you just could count the charing time and not the travel time, and add it to a fossil cars time
I've seen you use your phone, app and adapter to get the battery status. Is it not compatible with some of these cars? I'm thinking that even though the car isn't showing battery percentage at least the app would give you better statistics 🤔
WTF is up with people parking like shit @ the Steinkjer chargers. The e-tron and ID3 need to take some more driving classes and learn how to park inside the lines. When the ID3 is there, there is no room for another car to charge between it and the Zoe (who is parked correctly and charging). Ticks me off.
I say don't subtract anything. I chalk it up to that is real life for many who will be buying non Tesla's. Things may change when Tesla eventually opens up their charging network to everyone.
thats not pizza, thats just pizza bread with some vomit on top. Real pizza only has cheese and tomato sauce NY style, everything else is something else.
