This is the one I used on this Vauxhall Corsa 2016 EcoTec 5dr www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302256182199?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=lTcPA805Qni&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=viy2Nsh6Sjm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=WHATS_APP
This is the most helpful video so far on replacing this component which is in a difficult spot. Tip for removing rubber pipe - as others have said, use a flathead screwdriver to get in under it, push through til main length / body of screwdriver is holding it up and push up gently, it will rise up bit by bit. Might have to try it from a few different angles until it's high enough to pull off. For the white/green clip, I removed the green clip but white button wouldn't go in far enough to release - in the end I used two small flathead screwdrivers to gently prise the two white arm bits either side of the switch that the button is supposed to release. A bit fiddly but it worked for me.
The part about the white part having to press down was useful as you can't bloody see anything back there. I found it very easy to prize the rubber bit off with a large flathead screwdriver. Just push it up bit by bit going around the plastic pipe, no strength needed and it doesn't put the rubber under stress avoiding tearing it up. I had no fault code, but it was ticking like hell, so probably on its' way out after 74K.
It's supposed to tick as it purges the fuel vapors from the fuel tank , they are annoying at times, keep fuel tank at least half full and you will find it doesn't purge that often.
@@Rob-eg8qchi mate i think i have a similar issue but im not 100% sure if its the purge valve making the ticking noise, or whether its a faulty rocker cover/timing belt. I haven’t noticed any changes in power delivery or performance with my car, however there is a VERY annoying ticking/whining sound coming from my engine bay (seems like it’s coming from the top end). I should also mention that the noise only occurs when the engine is warm. When i cold start, the noise only becomes apparent once the engine is at operating temperature. Any words of advice for me? Many thanks Ive also uploaded a video of the noise in my channel if you wanna check it out 👍🏽
You just press the green clip in to remove the purge valve , no need to remove the clip. You may damage the clip trying to pull it out which it was not designed to do.
tengo el ruido ese pero incluso sin arrancar el motor cuando pongo contacto ya empieza el ruido y no para . podria ser eso la valvula . o solo haria ruido con el motor arrancado
Any advice on getting the second plug unclipped ? I removed the electrical plug fine but the other plug seems a lot more tricky I’ve got the green clip off but can’t seem to get the plug unclipped…I don’t want to break anything so any advice on a sort of technique I have to use ? Great video by the way 👍
Out of interest, how important is it to replace the green clip when you’ve fitted the purge valve. Mine broke so I left it. The car was running great until last night, so around 6 weeks later, and it’s stuttering again. That’s the only bit that didn’t go to plan… And if it is important, do you know what the part’s called and where they can be sourced?
I'm trying to replace mine but the rubber tube is just not budging, I'm gonna keep trying but its on really tight! How did you use the wrench to get it off?
Hey , very good explained, even better as the german RU-vid Videos which I watch. I just lost the green plastic (clip) (min 2: 58) and now I can't find it.. Found the exact one by Ford .. does anybody know a site or the oe number? Or the exact name? Thanks :D
You can try find this on ebay, but if not it will be easier to go to some scrapyards around your area and show the part your looking for, they'll surely know and give you a better deal
