Fitted the cogs yesterday, on my 2010 Opel Astra. Worked perfectly and my roof closes again. All 3 Opel garages I contacted told me this problem could cost thousands to fix. Thanks to X8R it cost less than 100
Hi. I have Astra h convertible 1.6 Would doing this help with a roof that stops when I'm trying to close it? I have had a problem in the past when the driver side winglet wouldn't come out when trying to put the roof down. After waiting a few minutes and pressing what I think is a reset button it worked. Only now the roof wouldn't close. My roof is thankfully now in the closed position. I had to call RAC to get roof back up. He done something with the hydraulic system..we lifted the roof up to nearly closing position he then put the hydraulic system back on and I was able to close it fully using the close button inside the car. Side arms inside roof clicked into place and roof all correctly locked up. No other electrical faults. Many thanks for any help.
Hi there, it seems like it could be down to the brass cogs. We have it listed as one of the symptoms. Check out the listing here: x8r.co.uk/vauxhall-holden-opel-astra-twintop-roof-parcel-shelf-winglet-flap-motor-brass-gears-cnc.html
@@X8RLtdUK thanks for your reply. I will order the parts and give it a go. Anything better than paying the hundreds of pounds main dealers are after. What grease would you recommend for the cogs please?
