That’s lovely - my grandad had a 1256 Viva - and he really looked after it, but the inner wings rotted out in the finish, and it had to be scrapped. Tremendous colour and interior - my favourite era for Vauxhalls.
I like the tread plate being used as a radiator cover!! Lips on rear wheelarches look a bit iffy! Had a basic Viva HC back in 72 and a Magnum 1800 two door auto in the 80's. Still kicking myself for letting the Magnum go! Only a couple left in Auto spec!
A time warp car still in excellent condition. These were very popular during the 70's , the higher spec ones were sought after on the used market. Very easy to drive with light steering and a smooth gearbox, i thought they looked better than Ford's Escort. A rare chance for a collector of 70's era cars.
I had the 1800 version ….. I’m old now obviously but I’m sure it had an 1800 engine. That was one hell of a car for me, not a Rolls by any stretch of the imagination or the equivalent performance of a Cosworth but it was the best I could afford and loved it to bits. Never tired of driving it but because of cash constraints I foolishly didn’t check the coolant, Jack Frost visited and destroyed the motor. It was left for too long as I had another runabout and rodents finished it off. Great car though, good to watch the video.
Am I the only one to spot the crud on the rear arch at 2:27?! Don't get me wrong - it's in amazing condition overall - but surely this should have been mentioned?
It’s a classic car 🚙 Snd very old however very good 👍 condition. It doesn’t matter how old the car 🚗 is because it goes very well. 👌 I spect it’s nice 😊 👍 👌 and warm inside the car. 🚗 There’s also an estate 🏡 car. 🚗 👍
Magnums were pre GLS models, A 2300 GLS A bloody rare car these days, Were back in the day too. I had one in 88 to 91. only sold it cause parts were hard to buy even then.
@@welshy8216viva gls was only available with 1300 & 1800 cc engines While magnum was 1800 & 2300cc Basically the gls was a 1300 magnum When the magnum stoped production the 1800 cc engine came available on the gls
would love an old car like this for daily runner as modrn junk they sell us now are cheap and nasty.. and eu scrap you cant get parts you need no wonder so many new cars get scrapped no parts to fix them or cost to much if your lucky to get the right parts..
Is this guy blind? He said the rear arch is lovely and crisp with no corrosion, yet you can clearly see the arch lip is shot to bits all the way round, and the lower rear quarter behind the wheel is bubbling out and you can clearly see its had filler and paint, i think he needs to get his eyes tested 😂😂😂
@@bigvinny333 absolutely correct mate. it was on the chevettes too. linden green always reminded me of the sort of colour that was on hospital corridor walls..
