PART 2 of the VCOA - Volvo Club of America National Meet held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania this 4-6 of September 2021. This is the P1800 and 1800E/ES class, plus the 850, 850R and 850 T5-R, 740 760 and 780 turbo class.
Unfortunately RU-vid had to cover the audio as a song played in the background between 9:44-10:55. Here's what I said:
Chuck WIlberger's 1800 is likely all original, besides the AC. Roger bought Chuck's V70R Saffron. Scott's supercharged Jensen P1800 is really great. Irv Gordon's 3 million mile legendary car has front and rear overriders on the bumpers--a must for NY and NJ traffic. Guiness book of World Records car for most miles driven.

Those wheels that come on the 95 t-5r are called titans. The wheels that come on the 96-97 r’s are volans. Man I wish I could’ve admired all these. Wish I had the money to bring my volvos to this condition

Wow, that accident at the beginning is insane! I was involved in a bad car accident when I was 16. The car slid into a tree and I spent several months in the hospital recovering with a very mangled right side of my body. Props to the passenger for putting in the fight to survive and I hope they have minimal long term side effects. Volvo safety for life.

@@BeardedWrencher I got a request man. So you know how 240 window frames are black? Their chrome underneath and I was wondering if you could do a video on removing the black paint to make it chrome. I can't find any info online. And I know you got that rusty door to try it on

@@jacobfleming565 I unfortunately scrapped the rusty door off the 1990 wagon a few weeks ago :( I'll see it I can't find another door and give it a shot and see what happens!

That 780 Bertone is beautiful. I had an 88 and I wish I never sold it. That car is in amazing shape! I loved my 2.8 PRV

Fuel injection was released on 1800, 140 and 160 models in Aug 1970.

My dad had his D5 V40 crushed in similar fashion. He walked away not having a single scratch. The dude that ran into him had several fractures and could not get out of his Audi Q7 by himself.

One of the red 780's has a red cam cover. Looks really nice. Highlights that classic cover. I first saw a colour coded cam cover on an IPD 240. It was brown and some other minor engine bay pipes was also painted brown. It looked really nice.

Fascinated to see the 780s which I have never seen in the flesh. Didn't realise they had V6 and red block engines. On a minor point. I also pronounced Bertone to rhythm with tone but my Italian mate tells me that the "e" at the end is also pronounced.

The Volvo 850 had and hawe a great sound if nothing is changed from its orginal engine. I had one i whole 19 year and it vas a great car.

I was wondering or better suggesting, when they have another activity like this, they could like some forums, where the person speaks on how to do different things to maintain their Volvo on the road, was the president of the Volvo car club, there the person who has a P1800, then you have the person who knows and has a pristine Bertone 780, that would make some awesome guest speakers, it would surely make the activity more interesting, to see how other persons make sure their Volvo keeps going, and like the moniker says, Volvo for life☝️👌👍👌☝️even you could speak about, the different Volvos, you have fixed or put back on the road.

Did the 780 also have a V8 engine option? I'm not even sure this model was available in Australia. The lines designed by Bertone are just beautiful.

Nice cars David!!!! The 850 t5r where they available in the us with a manual? By us in Europe they were, also the 780 but only the B230ft/b204ft and the d24tic , I don’t think they were available in the us as turbo-diesel or were they? Again nice cars thank you, Greetz from the Netherlands , ramon

Hi Ramon, the T5-R was only automatic in the states with gasoline engines. In fact we got no diesel volvos after the RWD models.

@@DavidBello Hey David, that’s a shame because the d5 diesel are superior above the petrol engines…….! For example a d5 has so much torque there’s no petrol engine with that amount of torque. But when you have petrol prices so low as in the us than I understand you drive petrol there, by us we pay 2 euros for a litre of gasoline, I mean 1 gallon is 3.5 litre so if you do the math it is 7 euro for a gallon………and diesel is 5 euro for a gallon so that’s why we have so much diesels here……….!

At first I thought that the Red P1800 was Ivr Gordon*s 3 million mile car, Do you have any information on the car that is a survivor, that they had fixed up after a fire had done some damage, they had the front clip over there under a tree, just wondering, it was at some meet

Unfortunately I couldn’t get more than 30 feet from Ivy without another meeting. The 480 came and went before I could see it

Looked at the few P1800's for sale in Sweden atm and oh boy have they rocketed in price. Cheapest was a very rusty one imported from the USA at 20 grand, most expensive something like 45 grand for an un-restored 1 owner car.

@@DavidBello My xc90 Transmission saga is in its 8th month, the Transmission is coming back out because they over filled it by 6-8 qrts. Then argued "no damage" from over fill its your Valve body $800 and 4 months later....
