For ppl that need the answer, all you need to do is clean the mode switch. It is a circle. You can find it by taking off the vcr unit, and looking under it. Take the circle off of the tray, and clean both parts with alcohol, then put everything back together and it should be fine
Having the same issue. The head spins on mine when I put it in as well, all tutorials on YT show the head not spinning as the cause of the issue but we seem to have another problem. Will report back if I find anything.
@@dege13 I found out that by pushing the cassette inside with force until it's seated it'll work without eating up the tape. I also took it apart and cleaned well the heads and all the parts that normally make contact with the tape, but I don't know if it contributed to the VCR working. Hope it'll work for you too :)
