LOL you cannot beat Albanian hospitality man. Last time I visited, me and my friend got stuck in the middle of nowhere on the highway, and my friend was having a rough time, so she started crying. Some albanian dude who spoke no english came along, gave us grapes (of course) and then offered to drive us to our hotel for free 😭that was just one of many similar examples of Albanian kindness
With all the hostility in the world, it's refreshing to see the friendliness that greets you almost everywhere! Also, your trip through the Balkans has been very educational. It's been kind of a bidding contest to see who is the most hospitable.
Yeah, I really did not expect to find such a great hospitality in Europe, and well, this trip across the Balkans proved me wrong. I am still amazed by how many wonderful people I met, and by the fact that they kindly let me record their warm heart.

People are people i am sure that you will find in every country nice welcomming people, all the Balkans same people but some people are burden with nationalism and politics involve in this and the problem let say in my country they not realize that the politician wages are 5000 euro and the worker wage is from 300-500 euro, politicians are what is rotten in all country, travel safe and well
good people, but history, like most Albanians, is not their strong suit. One does not know whether to laugh or cry when he hears them say that they are descendants of the Illyrians, they say that the Serbian Orthodox monasteries in Kosovo are also their old monasteries. They are Shiptari, Gega and Toska. They all speak different language. Now they call them self Albanian. They came with Turk's occupators. They are not Ilirian. Slavic people are the biggest population in Europe. We have lived here for thousands of years. Every founding witness that. Look how old are those monastery. Nothing Albanian. If Kosovo is theirs why they called them self Albanian. In France you have France nationality.
In France, the Francs only came during the 5th century. The Francs are a Germanic tribe, and they are not at all the original inhabitants of what you call France. And nobody is ashamed that the Francs were not the original inhabitants of France. The original inhabitants of France are the Celts, there are some Celts left only in Brittany. France is a mix of Celtic culture (original inhabitants), Germanic culture (arrival of the Francs during the 5th century), and Latin culture (invasion by Julius Caesar during the first century), and nobody cares about who came first, because we are all culturally linked to the land of France.

Its just a different dialect. 3rd, Albanians are of Paleo-Balkanic origin (most likely of Illyrian origin). As such, they were on the balkans before turks (14th century) nor slavs (7th century) knew where the balkans were. 4th, so building something on foreign land makes the land automatically yours? Ha-ha-ha that is what their history is teaching ha-ha-ha. Just in general sketch, first, there was 3 Illyrias. First, starting aprox. 8 BC, it was ancient region on territory between northern Adriatic cost and and river Danube (certainly not older than Greece, because Greeks are first that mentioned Illyria). That Illyria was officialized in ancient Illyrian Kingdom formed in IV century BC, on todays territories of central and northern Albania, and Montenegro (they were not one nation, by the way, but alliance of four ancient tribes). Ancient Macedonians took half of their territory in III century BC, Romans defeated them in II century BC and made Roman province Illyricum. Later that was general Roman denomination for whole area between Adriatic sea and Danube (and when Rome was expanding over the Danube (todays Hungaria and Romania). But that Roman Illyrians were not nation, that was various tribes living in Illyricum, like Dalmatians, Thracians, Dacians, Dardanians, Triballis (the most numerous) etc., and the original Illyrians (from Illyrian Kingdom) were lost for history, melted very fast in general Roman ethos (that only shows they were more advance than some wild tribes that are still wild and untamable even today...) And there was third Illyria in XVIII and XIX century, formed under Austrian Empire (Habsburg Monarchy, or Wholly Roman Empire, as it is also called, so don't be confused they loved to take ancient Roman terminology), that under it considered their subjects of Slavic origin, considering them the descendants of ancient roman Illyrians (of course, that was their misconception, but not so blundered, as modern science would show, but about that later), and proclaiming Illyrian also Slavic people under Ottoman Empire, in order to make claim of them (and their territory: interesting, modern Albanians and north part of the Greece, or ancient Macedonia, were also considered Slavic Illyrians :)))) There was also XIX century Illyrian Movement, but that was cultural movement of Balkan Slavs (Serbians, Croats and Slovenians), were the idea of Yugoslavian unity first emerged, considering South Slavs (Yugoslavs) nations brothers that should unify in one country. Of course, their illyrism was conditioned by earlier Austrian definition of it. So, when Albanian says Illyria once was all up through half of Romania, he is not lying, only Illyrians in that Illyria was not Albanians ancestors... Then, ironically, Albanian language is YOUNGEST language recorded on Balkan, mentioned first time in XV century in Turks administrative notes. Nevertheless, Albanian language is last and youngest Indo-Europian language recorded (of course, if we don't count Montenegrian and Bosnian languages, which are actually not new, just newly officially renamed), or youngest language in all Europe. Of course, the base of Albanian language is considered to have roots in Illyrian dialect spoken in Illyria, but not the Illyrian kingdom BC, but in Roman province Illyricum AC, that was, in general, a heterogenus mixture of various nations and tribes. There is also numerous Greek and Slavic influences in Albanian over time, so it is not possible to determined is Albanian from Balto-Slavic or Greek/Armenian group of languages, and again, mostly because the written Albanian didn't exist before XV century... So, it is undetermined, and probably undeterminable, from which branch of Indo-Europian languages Albanian is descending, it even might be directly descending from ancient Illyrian from XVIII century BC, it is easy to proclaim that when it is not provable... But it is determined for sure that it is the youngest Indo-Europian language recorded (and I say recorded, it is obviously existed before it is recorded, it is just not clear how long, century or X centuries, it didn't leave any trace before that...) But there is interesting new genetical research that throw completely different light upon Balkan and term Illyrian. So called Illyrian haplogen (that should be a trace of ancient Illyrians before Slavs came to Balkan in V and VI century) was researched to see how much of ancient natives left in modern Balkan nations. And result was 30-40%!!! Nevertheless, the Slavic haplogens was not dominant, they are taking 10-30% through all the Balkan (except Albanians), so Slavic haplogen is actually secondary. Albanians are exception because, although they also have primary Illyric haplogen, and significant Slavic haplogens, their secondary haplogens (E2 an E3) is from Northern Africa, and they have the highest influence of genes from Middle East from all Balkan nations (and that is ironically also, because Bosnians, that took islam under Ottomans and cosenqently had more close relationships with Turkes, has highest and purest Illyrian haplogens, and than Germanic, Celtic and than Slavic, and almost none of Middle East...) So the conclusion is obvious: there was indeed Illyrian natives BC, and all people that migrate here (from Celts, Vikings, Avars, Huns and Slavs) couldn't biologically change that, so we on the Balkan are still in highest percent all Illyrians , and our nationality differences are drawn from secondary and tertiary genetics... So, Austrian megalomans, yearning for Ottoman territories, wasn't wrong a lot describing who is Illyrians, nor this Albanian in video said anything untrue when he said there was Illyrians all up in todays Romania (for example, average Serbian and Romanian gene structure is almost identical, and so are genetic structure of Serbs, Albanians from Ksoovo, Bulgarians and Macedonians), but it is just not Illyrians he was thinking on. Of course, these haplogen studies are controversial yet, and just started, but first results shows what could any logical human expect - biologically, we on the Balkans are more similar than different, and we all have one predominant common Illyrian root. The cultural differences of todays nations are historically formed last X centuries, and biology shows various movements of people all over Balkan, but we all still share same ancient root, that shows that ancient native Illyrians were not exterminated, and that newcomers during centuries didn't push out natives, but rather mingle with them. But again, if someone from balkan have a right to say they are the rightful descendants of Illyrians, it is people from Hertzegovina (in Bosnia, again, no matter are they Bosnians, Serbs or Croats, it appears only this geographical region matters), with so far found highest percentage of ancient Illyrian haplogen... Sorry for lenght, but I cannot pass over rewriting of history anywhere and anytime :)
Always very precise! And I definitely agree that in the end, the different invasion waves ended up in mixed populations, and that the rise of nationalism is very recent. Before people did not care about who spoke which language, who was from of ethnicity, or from which political group.
@@KinoYves I would rather use term migrations, and not invasions. All through ancient and medieval history hundreds of thousands of people were forced to migrate all over the globe. Something similar is happening today, with hundreds of millions of migrants looking for their piece of peace. For instance, it is interesting you will find the same reception all from Bosnia, through Serbia, Albania and Macedonia, no matter you meat Croat, Bosnian , Serbian, Albanian, Greek or Macedonian. People are not aware, but they are still nurturing old ancient custom, and living by it, that is called "saintity of the guest-traveler". It is old pre-Christian custom originated from Balkan (mentioned by Greek historians, of course, and they have it also, by the way), we might say even "Illyrian", that all people here, no matter if they are muslim, ortodox or catholic christian or jewish, are still practicing, on your great pleasure :)))) Something we can share with the gens... I will watch your Bulgarian travel just to see did Bulgarians stood by it or they inevitable europeanized and started to feel stranger as something ominous....

Considering that you want to talk about genetic, unfortunately for you genetic studies proves the opposite. You are trying to pass the ev13 as a northafrican haplogroup, leaving space to speculations.... You are wrong, ev13 originated in the balkans 8000 years ago, as a matter of fact there are no africans of this haplogroup. Ofcourse, like most of haplos carried by europeans, hes ancestors are not european. But going by that logic all europeans 50 000 ago originated in Africa, even R1a carried by slavs is widespread in Asia like India and Pakistan. Ev13 is present in all Europe, with big concentration in Kosovo, Albania, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Montenegro and southern Serbia. Most of the fossils analyzed in western balkans, that date back to 1000 BC, belong to Ev13, J2b2, and R1b. So these where the haplos carried by illyrians and that most of modern albanians belong to. In the other hand the most representative haplogroup of southern slavs is I2a2 originated in Ukraine, where has the biggest varibility, and intruded to the balkans during the slavic migrations in 600AC. There are no skeletons of Roman Age that carry I2a2 in the balkans and Is completely inexistent in Italy. So if genetic proves something about the bosnians, is that they are genetically the most slavic of all balkan nations.
@@svarozjov Albanian language evolved from illyrian in northern albanian mountains and kosovo, not all illyrians where latinized. Some tribes escaped latinization and helenization in the remote moutains, after the fall of empire these tribes managed to expand assimilatig romanized illyrians in the lowlands and coasts of Albania. Thats why albanian language is full of latin loans, by some linguists is even considered a semi latinized language. The northern illyrians in the other hand where fully latinized and after slavicised, some remaining comunities of latin speakers like vlachs and morlachs where slavicised in Croatia and Montenegro even late in 17 century AC. All the languages has loans and borrowings, what is your point? What do you want to prove with the albanian being writted late? Illyrians where illiterate, like albanians, like slavs and like most of europeans at that time. Slavs got a place on the sun thanks to the byzantine monks Methodius and Ciryl that wanted to cristianise them creating their church. There where religious textes, they where not producing phylosophy. There are other languages written late like finnish or hungarian but where is the problem?!
