Couple notes: 1. pEmitter is defaulted to a lifespan of 100, so extend it on the control tab if you have a longer clip. 2. I had my default background set to white. Change it from black to white and that'll fix some issues. I'll add this to the growing list of tutorials to update :)

Howdy Kyle, I feel so rude due to the previously video upload. I've been suffering with my wisdom teeth recently (well actually the last 2 year) but due to the pandemic the waiting list is a joke. However the infection is starting to go down a little now. I know I've not been in contact but I will be getting this completed by the weekend. Much appreciated for that Video I can't believe what you had created in the time you did it. Absolutely amazing.

Hey! Thanks for this! I’m looking for a guide on making a looping halftone background. I’ve seen backgrounds where as the dots scroll from left to right or in whatever direction, they get larger or smaller when reaching a portion of the screen. Is that possible through Resolve?

I haven't seen those videos, but based on your description I'd say it's very much possible. You can use the pCustom to make the size of the particle dependent on for instance the x or y coordinates or both.

I've now got an issue where the image disappears after 100 frames, almost like it stops rendering. Render in place doesn't fix it, neither does anything else. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

With the custom tool setup, my render is stoping after 99 frames, after this it only displays the background afterwards. Is there a solution to this, and am I missing something simple?

On the pEmitter under controls tab there's a setting for lifespan. Change that to greater than 100.

When I plug my ellipse background into the pImageEmitter I lose all my colours! It turns black and white. I swear I've followed your tutorial to the T, and I've checked it like 5 times now. What am I doing wrong!?

SOLVED: the background node feeding into the pImageEmitter was set to black by default. Change it to white and it works.
