We have prepared a recipe for vegan chicken aka seitan that can made at home. It is a plant-based meat alternative made out of wheat flour (maida) and can also be prepared with atta or any other flour rich in gluten. It’s made by washing prepared wheat dough to remove starch leaving a sticky mass of protein - gluten - that can be flavored, cooked, and used in a number of dishes just like chicken.🤤😃
We can make so many interesting dishes at home using this homemade chicken. And this is just the beginning!😎
Ingredients for vegan chicken:
Vegan chicken aka seitan 250 grams
Salt 1 tbsp
Black pepper powder 1 tbsp
Ginger paste 1 tbsp
Garlic paste 1 tbsp
Vinegar 1 tbsp
Soy sauce 1 tbsp
Corn flour or rice flour ½ cup
Recipe:
Mix all the ingredients and leave them to marinate.
Pour some oil in a heated pan.
Put vegan chicken one by one in the pan and fry it.
Ingredients for gravy:
Water 1 cup
Soy sauce 1 tbsp
Vinegar 1 tbsp
Red chilli sauce 1 tbsp
Tomato sauce 1 tbsp
Corn flour or rice flour ½ cup
Stir to mix well.
Ensure there are no lumps.
Steps to make chilli chicken.
Heat some oil on medium setting.
Add 1 tbsp ginger paste to the pan.
Add 1 tbsp garlic paste
Add ½ cup of finely chopped green onions.
Stir and cook the ingredients for a couple of minutes.
Add 2-3 chopped onions.
Add one chopped green capsicum
Add the prepared gravy mixture to the pan.
Cook on low heat till the gravy thickens.
Add salt as per taste.
Add 1 tbsp red chilli powder.
Add 1-2 tbsp black pepper powder.
Add the fried vegan chicken to the gravy.
Stir the ingredients.
You chilli chicken is ready.
Serve it with fried rice or as have as is!
