VEGAN CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE: Classic vs Whole Food (Which is better?)

How to make Vegan Molten Chocolate Cake recipe in 2 different ways. One's a vegan adaptation of the classic recipe and the other is a whole food plant-based recipe.

Ingredients:
Classic:
Fairtrade dark chocolate, unsweetened, dairy-free - 100g
Soy milk, unsweetened - 250ml
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
All-purpose flour - 75g
Fairtrade cocoa powder, dutch-processed - 10g + more for dusting
Sugar - 80g
Baking powder - ½ tsp
Salt - ⅛ tsp
Vegan butter
Icing sugar
Whole Food:
Dates, pitted - 80g
Soy milk, unsweetened - 300ml
Fairtrade dark chocolate, unsweetened, dairy-free - 100g
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
Whole wheat flour - 65g
Fairtrade cocoa powder, dutch-processed - 10g + more for dusting
Baking powder - ½ tsp
Iodized salt - ⅛ tsp
Peanut butter

Made the WFPB version of this tonight and it was great! Ours didn't come out the ramekins cleanly but that wasn't a big deal to me, I'd be okay with eating them in the ramekins and the main thing is that they tasted amazing! Thank you for creating this recipe :)

Have you tried 1 part liquid lecithin to 3 parts oil of choice to assist release of your product in holistic baking (or otherwise). It’s a banger. (I worked as a holistic baker n’ chef at community natural foods Calgary Alberta back in the day). About these smooth looking cakes and preference - when faced with a choice take both! : p New subbie 🎉

Made the WFPB version the other night. My fiancé didn't think it was chocolate-y enough and also the chips have a ton of fat from the cocoa butter. I was wondering if you think it would be possible to make it by creaming raw cashews and baking cocoa? I know I can get a really strong chocolate taste with the cocoa powder. If anyone has any ideas, I'd like to hear em. Thanks, J

nice! yeah, 2nd version is pretty much a slightly healthier option for the gang who eat whole food plant based but still want to indulge. version 1 is definitely more straightforward tho.
