i ate seitan and all the pains (lower back and knee particularly) and muscle weakness vanished in just 2 days. I have consumed whey protein and non veg previously but it never really worked for me. I consume seitan once a week or in 2 weeks and I don't feel weakness now. I will try the steamed seitan, looks very good. thanks a lot.
wonderful video, thank you. I'm cooking it tonight. Also, do you know the difference between blanching the sheets in the water and in the baking soda water? any idea. Triditional methods usually have their own reason . I like andante like you but just curious.
Have you tried 1 part liquid lecithin to 3 parts oil of choice to assist release of your product in holistic baking (or otherwise). It’s a banger. (I worked as a holistic baker n’ chef at community natural foods Calgary Alberta back in the day). About these smooth looking cakes and preference - when faced with a choice take both! : p New subbie 🎉
I know this is an older video, but I just saw it now. Do you think the fried gluten would have been puffier and rounder if you used baking soda instead of baking powder? Since there's no acid added, the baking powder wouldn't give that second rise that you'd expect.
Been making the two non ball versions for years being vegan, the firmer non traditional I'm been using for peanute satay but often use a brown sauce instead, you did good work on the video.
Made the WFPB version the other night. My fiancé didn't think it was chocolate-y enough and also the chips have a ton of fat from the cocoa butter. I was wondering if you think it would be possible to make it by creaming raw cashews and baking cocoa? I know I can get a really strong chocolate taste with the cocoa powder. If anyone has any ideas, I'd like to hear em. Thanks, J
I haven't found the thicker & softer sheets like those. I've only found tissue-paper thin and brittle types. I've purchased on Amazon and at the local Asian market (where I found so many other vegan treasures, but not those specifically). Any advice or links you could share? I'm also seeking those really large yuba/soy bean curd sheets that are thicker and less britte but come drier (not as soft like the ones you used here), but I keep ending up with super thin brittle sheets.
Can't believe RU-vid is only recommending your channel to me today (bad RU-vid! 🤬) I'm so glad you did a standard and a WFPB one, and both vegan! Thank you kind sir for your work 🙏🏾

Thank you for the recipe ! I have tried it, it’s nice however it feels impossible to have the inside of the pancake cooked enough which means not soggy. Do you have any tips for that ? I think I encounter the same issue when I used defatted hazelnut flour to make pancake. So it might be linked to those kind of flour. Thank you for your help !
In original novel elf lady describes the green stuff as deep green leaf vegetable, add it to that spinach is commonly used in yoshoku-restraunt, so i think you came up with the best answer there is.
