I just finished baking this and it turned out phenomenal! I like my spice buns slightly on the sweeter side so next time I'll use 3/4 cup of agave instead of 1/2. 5/5🌟 (fyi, Follow Your Heart cheddar slices and VioLife mature cheddar block are great with this)
Awesome!!! Glad it turned out great. Definitely, and for others they can definitely adjust the agave to make it sweeter. I agree the follow your heart does taste good. I’ve yet to try the vio life cheddar, I’ll take your word for it since I love this brand of cheese.
I made this yesterday with a few adjustments to make it GF, and tasted it today. Sooooo good!❤ I haven't had bun in so long because of food allergies. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm telling everyone lol
I appreciate this vegan Bun Recipe.. Just So you know you're a God sent to many. I have been trying your other recipes and getting good results I am loving them. God bless you you're very talented I would say gifted and blessed.
Hey girl i just want you to big up yourself and keep up the good work. i stop eating bun for years because I'm a vegetarian. I really wanted to try this recipe because i miss eating buns, however, i was wondering what i could substitute the Malta with. I really don't want to use the malta. peace and blessings!!
I just made bread pudding and I thought about having cheese with it. But, like I was telling my mom, I don't know if I would like to have cheese with something sweet. I may try it. Some people melt the cheese; I know I don't want to do that lol. This bun looks good.
Honestly it tasted alright. Wish it had a stronger cheese taste though. I’ve tried various vegan block cheese and they didn’t taste good had to throw them out. The slice works so far.
Thanks! I am, I live in the states so I purchased the cheese at my local health food store via Wholefoods supermarket. You should be able to purchase vegan cheese at most supermarket nowadays.
This looks incredible, with all the warm spices and the molasses and raisins it's right up my alley. Any substitutions for the bottle of Malta? Where I live I cannot find anything like that unfortunately :) thank you! Ps. Have you tried the daiya cheddar block? Their cheeses are a hit or miss honestly but their blocks for some reason are so good. Violife also has some pretty good vegan cheeses if you can get your hands on either brand it's worth a try!
Thank you! Since I don’t consume alcohol the Malta is the next best thing. However while experimenting I’ve used water and added a bit more molasses to achieve the added richness the Malta provided. The flavors were still on point. So you can try using water. I am sure a Plantbased milk would work aswell although I haven’t tried it. I’ve tried the daiya cheddar block it has an after taste that I don’t like. I’ve use the shredded in the past and it’s ok so I don’t know. Maybe it just me getting used to vegan block cheeses.
@@AuthenticPlantbasedEats thanks so much for the tips! Will definitely try it out :) I know some people still can't get behind the daiya flavors, violife really is good though, I've heard a lot of good feedback for the sharp mature cheddar block they have, I myself haven't tried it but it's supposed to taste really close to the dairy one!
Lovely recipe. I tried it with spelt flour. Next time I'm going to reduce the amount of oil that the recipe calls for, I think it's unnecessary. Other than that it's perfect.
Hey! If not the usual alcohol like wine or dragon it’s normally Malta for those who don’t consume alcohol. However while experimenting I used water instead of Malta and added a bit more molasses. So you can definitely use water if you don’t consume alcohol. The flavors are still on point. The Malta gives it a richer flavor though. You can also try using a Plantbased milk. I personally never tried it with the milk but it should work.
Thankh you and I love your channel very much. I have tried a few of your recipes and they were all excellent. We've (my wife and I) have been planning to do a vegan bun for a while now and when I saw this, I told her I'm trying it because I trust you. I'll let you know how it turns out!
