Hola!!!! Girllll I made this today and it was BOMB!!! Thank you so much for sharing!! I am slowly trying to become vegan and making the dishes I love makes it so much easier!!❤️
I'm trying this now and everyone else's video had me so confused 😕 yours is so easy to follow❤❤❤ I miss your vegan recipes so much!! Thanks so much for these!!
Omg I’m impressed, I’m thinking of becoming vegan but don’t wanna miss out on my Mexican food and just meat period . Thank god I came across your channel❤️❤️
Omg.... this recipe was fantastic!! I fed it to my Omni boyfriend and his family and it was a hit!! Thank you so much, I’m so glad I’m able to have this now.
Greetings! I've been making my own version of Pozole Rojo, veganized and after watching your video and following some of your ideas, including the garlic, water and hominy blended, my Pozole today was totally over the top! Thank you so much and I look forward to making more of your recipes!
RU-vid recommended your video. And I'm so beyond happy. 😭❤❤❤ I been trying a plant based lifestyle for 6 months now. I'm so glad I found you. As a Mexican I grew up eating all these delicious mexican food I'm so exited to try all your recipes with my husband. Sending much love from san fransisco.
This is insanely beautiful! Pozole is one of my fave dishes ever! The jackfruit looks like chicken. I love this, can’t wait to try it. You have some really great recipes.
You are the only one I have seen on RU-vid that prepares your jackfruit like this and I am so so thankful to you for showing me this. That flavor is PRIMO! 💯😍🙏❤
I had an idea of how I wanted to make it. But your video definitely encouraged me and helped me to know exactly how to do it. Thank you for sharing your tips and recipes.
Omg I’ve tried this recipe and I love it!! I was never a pozole person when I ate meat but I did eat menudo so I missed the Chile broth and I get to enjoy this delicious dish. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
I don’t know how I found you but I am sooo happy 😭 I have been wanting to make pozole but all the recipes I’ve seen just didn’t impress me. Thank you again for your channel! I am making this tomorrow for my husband ❤️
Wow your channel is such a godsend! My bf is from Guerrero and through him I have learned so much about Mexican food it is bomb!! But he isn’t vegetarian so some dishes I haven’t been able to try. Until I found your channel! Now I have soy taco recipes, and I’ve been looking for a veg pozole recipe and BOOM! Gracias chica confío en tus recetas because they are so authentic! Can’t wait to try!!
I'm so glad your recipe came up when I searched vegan pozole Rojo! You made it so simple to follow ! I'm making some today. Yay! Can't wait to see how it comes out.
Just made this and it's very nice, very satisfying.... Ate w tortillas. Meat eaters were also impressed ☺ I didn't make the spicy sauce to top it w but with the onions and lime(lemon worked as well bc it added a sweetness) it was delicious anyway. (Added extra oregano and smoked paprika bc I seem to like these 2 ingredients especially in almost everything savory)
Pozole is the ONE dish I miss the most! I don't know why, but I have resisted trying jack fruit! I've watched other versions of vegan pozole with jackfruit, but no one cooks it to remove that stuff it comes in. This version is closer to how my mom would make it growing up with meat of course. I love it with tons of shredded cabbage, diced onions, cilantro and lime! I'm motivated now to make your version :) Thank you!
Divine* Feminine I highly recommended! I too used to hate working with canned jackfruit until countless of attempts. After boiling & making it tender it grabs on to all those delicious flavors. My mom’s (white)pozole is super loved & she totally approved my red pozole 🤗💖 Goodluck! I hope you try it ✨
Yes this is a great recipe, just one thing I noticed when I was making mine. The pozole can that you made yours with is actually 110oz and not 14oz as you mentioned in the video. It threw my off at first but I corrected it for my recipe.
Hi!! I love your recipes and I’m trying this one next. The ingredients say 14oz can of hominy but you used a 110oz can in the video so that’s what I am gonna use too! I hope it’s right (sounds right to me) I know this is gonna be perfect for the next winter storm coming in!
I don’t have a place where I can buy jackfruit around me after order it, but I was wondering if we could put the jackfruit in like a cheese cloth and then squeeze the juice out with a tofu press? I’m wondering how that would work. I love your videos you’re awesome thank you!
In the process of making this right now! What do you do with all the leftover chile pozolero? Are there otehr recipes it works well with? How long does it last in the refrigerator?
Can’t wait to try this!! Question - do you feel like it’s missing that fatty mouth feel that is in non-vegan pozole from the animal fat? Any vegan ways to add this?
Aloha from Hawaii. Jack fruit is a traditional food in Hawaii we call it Ulu. Have you tried using fresh instead of canned? How would the recipe change using fresh? Also, how can I mail order chilies you are using? I just subscribed and look forward to learning how to incorporate our ulu into your delicious Mexican meals. My Hawaiian Hubby loves tacos and Mexican food.
Hi! Yes I have tried fresh jack fruit & it is very sweet & tasty 💛 Canned jackfruit is neutral of taste & hasn’t developed it’s full sweetness yet so that is why it is great for shredded meat! It holds on to taste a lot better 🤗 And not too sure about the chilies, you may want to check online! I usually purchase them from a mexican market ❤️
bella Fresh jackfruit can be overwhelmingly sweet for this dish 🥺 I actually remove that tangy brine with my boiling process ❤️ To make it neutral tasting!
Angelina Ramirez Pre Boiling the jackfruit takes away that briney taste that the can gives it & then once put in the pozole, it grabs all the pozole flavor making it DELICIOUS 😍💓
I just made this. The flavor was wayyyy too watered down. We had to add so much salt that it made us question its safety to consume 😂.The only thing we didn't have a measurement for was the H20 to hominy ratio and thats where seems the issue seems to lie. So save yourself the hassle and put just enough water to cover the hominy...I on the other hand added probably double that.
This looks so good and I want to make it tomorrow but my family doesn’t do spice. What do you recommend to make it less spicy, I know I can obviously make it with less red chiles, but are there a certain type Chile I could maybe use that isn’t as spicy?
Hi love! The chiles used in the pozole are not spicy at all! They are for flavor. Especially because I take out all the seeds with any potential spice. The only spice comes from the side salsa that I made, the chile pozolero! with chile de arbol. So I suggest skipping that all together & only making the pozole ❤️ Guajillo & pasilla are fine for the pozole! Good luck! 😍
I shred it & then sautee the mushrooms until the water cooks out so they are not so soggy or gummy! And then I add them in last 💕 I did this on a tiktok video hehe
@@airamcooks This has become our pozole recipe! I have made this a few times with the jackfruit, but want to make it with mushrooms. What do you mean by shred? Also, any other suggestions other than mushrooms? Thank you and Happy Holidays :)
Hey I like ur all recipes....some of ingredients are not available in Mumbai...I am trying to replace that....sometimes I don't understand ingredients name which are mentioned during video...so I search in Google and translate in our language😂😂 Thank u for sharing recipes
Hi! Because this jackfruit in the video is from Trader Joes and is SUPER briney. I no longer do this. I switched to a different brand, check out my newer videos like my tinga recipe. I link my new jackfruit in yhe description!
$3.49 for a can! The good thing is this one I’m recommended now does not need to be boiled as seen on the video! I mentioned it on the description :) Here’s the link - store.edwardandsons.com/products/organic-young-jackfruit?_pos=2&_sid=7d7077a3e&_ss=r
