I’m here because I am a vegan and just found I’m pregnant today!!!!!! I lost my mom oct 2 2020 from breast cancer and I’m sad but seeing your mom made me happy and motivated.
Congratulations, Marie!! So happy for you. Yay! I hope you'll check out our Vegan Pregnancy Guide: www.worldofvegan.com/vegan-pregnancy. Let us know if you need any support! :D
I have 8 kiddos and have been vegan for the last two. The last two I didn't have NEAR the pregnancy symptoms I did with the first 6! I threw up multiple times but the last two I didn't at all! 🤯 It was so drastically different, I couldn't believe it! ❤️
Congrats! Such awesome news! I had a vegan pregnancy at almost 43 (natural)! And ultimately, my doctor was super supportive - and despite the fact I had a C-section (breech baby and old mama :) he actually cleared me for working out postpartum earlier than any other patient he ever had (at 4 weeks), which he said was a testament to my healthy lifestyle while pregnant (and he is not vegan). If you have any questions, shoot me a message. So excited for you!!! PS Get the book Eat Sleep Poop - the only book I recommend for the first year postpartum. It is amazing and the most realistic! PSS Victoria’s Secret has a program where you can return bras during pregnant as your boobs continue to grow and get a big discount on new bras. I had never heard of it but went there during my first trimester, and the associate told me. It saves a lot of $, because I went through 3-4 bra sizes during pregnancy!
Congratulations! I'm pregnant vegan as well. With my first pregnancy orange juice with lemon soda like Sprite or 7 Up helped with nausea. With second smoothies or eating something (fruit taste so good while many other things were far from it). Good luck mammas 🍀 Thx
Had my BFP yesterday at 8dpo! I just knew it because I had the same symptoms with my 11mo daughter : moody, cramping, nausea, tiredness and weird tofu cravings! Congrats mama, babies are such a blessing ❤️ we need all the compassionate, vegan babies we can get! 🌱
I’m 7 weeks, thank you for making this! I don’t have nausea (yet?) but i do wake up dry heaving now for a week or two. every now & then something comes up but most of the time it’s just waking up dry heaving so far. thanks again!
Congratulations on your pregnancy! So glad you don't have horrible nausea and I hope you never do. Really happy that my video helped a little. Keep healthy and strong, Mama!! :)
Lucky baby. Congrats! Your mother's reaction got me teary. You may already follow Deliciously Ella from the UK, (fellow vegan cookbook author), but she had the kind of nausea you are describing and hers passed after the 1st trimester also. Thanks for sharing.
I am soooo happy for you!!! Congratulations to all of you❤️❤️ I can only imagine how excited your mom was. I have 3 children, my first was by far the worst as far as morning sickness. For 5 straight months I lived in the bathroom. The remainder was in front of the refrigerator. Lol😂 ugggh. Did I learn I whole lot!!! Best wishes for the happiest & healthiest pregnancy! Looking for ward to seeing those little vegan baby booties being filled soon! 🥰
Oh gosh, I'm sooo sorry you went through that. Nonstop nausea is the WORST. If I didn't know it would eventually end I don't know how I would have endured it! But at least with all the struggles and sleepless nights ahead I'll be able to think "at least I'm not nauseous!" Hehe :)
Hello from France :) I’m also vegan and i will also have a baby in January ^^ I suffered a little less than you from nausea but now i still have them when i wake up, take the car, or eat... not very comfortable. I hope you will talk about emotions during pregnancy because it’s crazy :o take care!
My morning sickness was the exact same as yours. I'm getting nervous because my husband and I are planning to have baby #2 soon since his work schedule is cut for the rest of the winter, and I need him home as much as possible during that first trimester when I can't even stand up in the shower without assistance, and now we have an almost 5 year old we need to take care of. I'm excited for baby but dreading going through all the morning sickness again.
So exciting!! Congratulations! Thank you so much for sharing what you’re doing so far. I really look forward to learning as you learn about vegan pregnancy!! Haha 💕
Oh gosh, I can't even IMAGINE that. I was so expecting to have at least the first 6 months to get ahead on work and life and everything before it all got crazy...to have that period of calm turned into a full 9 months of nausea...well...you are a WARRIOR for making it through!!
Just stay far away from high oxalate foods and you are golden. No spinach No nuts exept pistachios, pecans and macademias no chocolate, no rubarb and no black tea.
Eee! Congratulations Michelle! This is perfect as I'm only about a week behind you, due in the first week of Feb. I'm soooo looking forward to my all day "morning" sickness going away. It's been extremely difficult being in an office environment! I haven't been able to keep my prenatals or any healthy foods down for the last 4 weeks. I'm basically living off of bread 😭 nothing has helped, since i can't even keep down the anti nausea meds i was given.
Oh my gosh, Kate, I'm sooo sorry you're going through that horrific nausea too. HUGS!!! I promise there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I am feeling WORLDS better now (I just hit 15 weeks). I feel like I have my life back. And food looks, smells, and tastes good again! Fingers crossed you start feeling the 2nd-trimester recover too! For me it started with a few good days woven with bad days but now almost all are (nearly) entirely nausea-free. And yayyyy for being so close together! Are you going to find out the gender soon? Sending strength to make it through the rest of the nausea period. You've got this!!!
@@Worldofvegan oh ok, i'm 2 1/2 weeks behind you then =) Oh I can't wait until I enjoy food again! I'm missing out on the farmer's markets because of the smells. My husband wants to find out the gender as soon as possible but since it's our first I'm enjoying each stage as it comes, and I think I'm okay with waiting until the ultrasound can confirm it at either the 16 or 20 week apt. 😊 We'll be beyond excited either way as long as baby is healthy! So excited to watch your journey! Did you do the sneak peek or waiting to find out?
congratulations.....your going to be a wonderful mom......i drank ginger warm water with lemon & maple syrup worked great ......your mom was so cute.....
I think I remember you saying in a video before you have Ulcerative Colitis (I have it too). I was wondering how is that going with your pregnancy? Congratulations!!!!!! I’m super excited for you!!!!
I do! So sorry you have UC too :( I personally waited until my symptoms were completely under control (I currently get Entyvio infusions every other month which has gotten me into clinical remission, for now). And surprisingly, when you're pregnant, you are significantly less likely to go into flair because your immune system is suppressed during pregnancy (just naturally-it's what your body does). That apparently stops your body from fighting the fetus off as a foreign entity. My doc said that if I go into pregnancy while I'm not in flair, I'm likely to stay that way throughout. I also went and saw a doctor who specializes in women and fertility and IBD in San Francisco just to ease my mind and she gave a big thumbs up for going ahead with pregnancy. She also said the chances of passing UC to my kid is pretty unlikely. Dr. Uma Mahadevan is her name :) She recommended getting a colonoscopy and just making sure you're totally out of flair first, if you're able to prepare that much! Super grateful for feeling well though...I truly cannot imagine going through pregnancy with active UC....that would be torture all around. Hope you're feeling well, and hugs! xo, Michelle
World of Vegan I’m glad your symptoms are under control. I’ve been debating rather to have children or not mainly because of UC. Thanks for the information. I’m so glad to hear that if you’re not in a flair, your more likely to be in remission during pregnancy. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly! I’m so very happy for you! 🧡
Congrats on your pregnancy! I hope you have a great and healthy pregnancy. I love Old Navy active wear leggings they are comfy with a stretchy waistband and still stay up. They are perfect for pregnancy and I stayed in my normal size.
Congrats girl! Very nice video--your mom's reaction was so sweet. Did you doctor say anything about vegan prenatal DHA? I am not sure if my prenatal vitamins have that in it and I know it's important.
I know this is a year late, but there's a bunch of vegan DHA supplements out there, I took one during my last pregnancy for bub's brain health. She hit all her developmental milestones early and is a very smart cookie, so definitely no issues there! The one I took (can't remember the name) is algae based and didn't impact my morning sickness badly.
I've learned that it's very different for every woman and even every pregnancy. So glad that you're not feeling nauseous yet. Sending lots of love and good luck!
Im a vegan and first pregnancy. I lost so much weight 20 so pounds and I just went into my first trimester. It’s so hard to eat around this nausea and what do you suggest to get all your protein/nutrition.
Hi Deziree! I'm sorry you've had such a hard time with your pregnancy. That's horrible :( I'm going to share a link to our Pregnancy Guide, but I also think you should speak to your doctor immediately. You want to keep yourself healthy and well for your baby. I'm sure your doctor will have some helpful advice or suggestions for your nausea. After you get some medical advice, please feel free to read our article here: www.worldofvegan.com/vegan-pregnancy. We included a section on nutrition. You might also want to search for a nutritionist that specializes in pregnancy. That person can help you to make sure you're getting all of the protein, vitamins and minerals you need. Wishing you good luck, sending love and many healing thoughts for feeling better soon! xoxo
Sadly I didn't get to capture it because I wasn't able to tell my dad in person :( I sent him a photo that I put together with a letter board that basically said "promoted to grandpa!" with some other cute bits :) He was really excited too though! Danielle Monet is has been really fun to follow on Insgtagram, she's pregnant (and vegan) and shared so many little moments sharing the news with different people in her life!
Congrats! My daughter has a 15 month old and is raising him plant-based. Check out plant-based juniors blog/Instagram if you haven’t already for some helpful information!
