I've been wanting to get this incredible woman's voice in the mix for a few years. I was planning on capturing it at her restaurant and had been talking to her and her assistant about it. She just so happen to be at the Vegan Health & Fitness EXPO recently and I was fortunate enough to get 15 minutes of her time. Her story is much more elaborate than this, which you can hear on Rich Roll's channel. I look forward to having a deeper conversation about cooking, growing up, her restaurant, mutual friends, and more when I actually get to visit her in LA. Looking forward to seeing you again Chef Babette Davis living strong 72 years young!

@@vanitagomes3794 on a typical day: Breakfast: Oats 3/4 cup whole oats (groats) combined with 3 1/4 cup water. Cooked overnight in a slow-cooker. When cooked add: walnuts, pumpkin seeds, goji berries, 1 tablespoon ground flax seed*, maple syrup. *ground flax seed is important for balancing our omega 3's and 6's. Lunch: Green Smoothie 2 cups unsweetened organic soy milk or water. Add 1 cup organic blueberries, mango and or strawberries (about 2 cups total). Add 1+ cup (packed) kale Add ginger. I use about 2 inches. I sometimes add 1 scoop (24 grams protein) of pea protein. Afternoon snack: apples or seasonal fresh fruit. Dinner (varies). Mexican Black beans and rice with spicy raw salsa, blue corn tortillas, cilantro. Sometimes with raw red cabbage salad (finely chopped cabbage, add salt and lime) or green salad. I also love vegan Indian food.

There are podcasts that I listen to that inspire me, telling me I must dig deeper. Then there are those I look at before I start the audio, I don't need to listen. 1 or 2 seconds of looking at them, they have health, happiness and vitality looking me right between the eyes. Chef Babette Davis is truly one of those. She looks 40 years young, her face and skin is glowing. As another person said, I will have what she is having. Awesome I turned 50 in May and have been vegan since 2011 :-) you can do it man and you'll feel better and wish you had done it sooner! Remember vegan is a philosophy to not hurt others, not exploit others. And when you truly believe this you do what you can to find a way to practice it in every way possible. So you will find a way to make a vegan diet the healthiest it can be for you.

When I first saw Chef Babette a few years ago, my goal was to one day be strong like chef. I waited and then I decided now is the time, not tomorrow or next time. So here I am, getting stronger day by day (didn’t stop even during my cancer diagnoses and treatment last year). I’ve been vegan since 2012. Been going for a even more healthy life style though. Maybe I’ll go mostly raw at some point in my life. She is a fitness and health inspiration for me. Best 🌱

Not sure about people who speak like you do. We agree on the locally grown, no chemicals and processed foods there are studies that show the Mediterranean diet is healthy due to the vegetables especially dark leafy green ones, whole grains and fruits. Forgot to mention no cane sugar, or alcohol dr Klaper, Dr Esselstyne, Dr Gregor show the real truth about health and all have studies over decades showing no fried foods and to limit oil or cut it out completely if you have a heart disease in your family

i cook beans , starches and grains even broccoli and cabbage but almost everything else i eat is raw, it tastes better when you have learnt how to put all those delicious flavors together..its fun and interesting and delicious. animal products are revolting to me but i was lucky to be born a vegetarian and 15 years ago became vegan and wow i was so grateful ❤

I love these interviews. She's so beautiful! And 72 years old! I am having issues going raw. I'm definitely not getting enough calories, probably because I'm not used to preparing raw meals. It seems to take so much time. I would love to learn some tricks for quick preparation. Until then I'm supplementing with rice and beans.

Yeah I think the trick is sprouting and fermenting so you can replace the grains and legumes with sprouted instead of cooked versions. I don't know that 100% raw is really necessary or optimum or most optimum I should say. But it is a bit dreamy.

@ebazileyes1475 No, the vitamix is a more powerful blender so it makes your smoothies REALLY smooth plus it makes nut butters smooth like silk.
