You guys are making going vegan so easy! Ive so far cooked your lentil shepards pie, sweet potato fritters, cauliflower buffalo wings, vegan lasagne (one with roasted celeriac sheets, genius!), and the korma curry sauce (served with chick peas as suggested). Every single one of them has been fabulous! I was a pretty good cook in the traditional, non plant based, way but i cannot believe what i am tasting from you guys. even my carnivorous boyfriend and fussy todler are clearing their plates every night! Thank you so much and keep doing what you're doing. much love from Sheffield, England xxx

Not only that you save animals by going vegan but people that consumes meat and Dairy are slowly but surely hurting our planet and people dying because of animal agrculture caused weather catastrophes. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_sYh89ghzzM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MnUdoZRSRCY.html

Hi guys, I follow you a lot and recently bought your cooking course. Thank you very much for the value you add. I do have a problem with this recipe though. Not sure what kind of soy joghurt you use but mine didn't turn into a creamy cheese at all and it messed up everything. Afterwards I improvised for my new year's cake but it turned out a mess. At least the looks 😀. Next time I'll try to buy some vegan cream cheese instead 🙈. Not giving up, I'll master this beauty.

Looks delicious but with too much oil. I recently baked your carrot cake and i made it with one third of the oil and substituted the rest with soy milk. It rose like ordinary cake and it was delicious! I'll do the same with this recipe. No need for so much oil.

@Pink Salt I've used flaxseed in baking extensively and I have found that the best way to use it is to grind it to powder and use it directly into your batter. No need to activate it in water as it activates in the batter by absorbing the liquids and binding the mixture. It also makes the cakes more crunchy 😋.

Patricia McDonald ...I don't know about that lol. I had a friend that had the oh she Glows cookbook and another one from Isa Chandra and that was 2 years ago. Well she absolutely love the recipes from both cookbooks but did not make her go Vegan because she loves eating out too much and really don't GAF about the animals. Has been 2 years and still not vegan AND I have shown her the reality with the earthling vdo and that didn't help so I'm done with her. I told her call me when you finally snap out of it and make the connection.
@EMunaBee
@EMunaBee 6 лет назад
Miriam Schiro I'm sorry you ended a friendship, but did you really stop being friends with someone because you couldn't manipulate her to eat as you do? what was the basis of your friendship? did you have other shared values, beliefs, likes, and goals? has she been a good friend to you? have you been a good friend to her? though I've tried, I've changed no one's mind to switch to a plant based diet or vegan lifestyle, not overweight people, not people with health issues, not people who are kind, charitable, and good, not people who seem to love animals and would never want them harmed. they are all intelligent people, but so far have not made the connection. I brought vegan cookbooks, a forks over knives DVD they refused to watch (and one person is a type two diabetic), I've sent short videos on the dairy industry, doctor Neal Barnard's Ted talk and book, rip essylstein's Ted talk, Jonathan safran foer's book, eating animals, and I don't know if anyone watched or read any of it. they're just not interested. at the same time, they are in many charity committees, visit the sick and elderly, feed them, help people with money, do free work for people, do many quiet acts of kindness, and are decent people. it's hard to understand the cognitive dissonance they have about eating and using and wearing animals and animal products. when I was in my early teens I couldn't even change people's minds about fur, about the atrocities, about it being unnecessary to wear with so many other available warming fabrics. these days I mostly don't mention any of it unless asked or unless it's someone young in my family or young very close family friend (the four to 14 crowd, mostly), and I keep it age appropriate and geared to the specific person, and keep it very short, don't try to convince them to change, don't tell them one way is better, don't scare them, but let them know a bit about it, and their options (like I told and eight year old "I eat meat, but it's not made from animals, instead it's made from wheat and vegetables, it's delicious, healthy, and no one gets hurt, and I feel good"), and I've prepared vegan nuggets, burgers, pasta, chili, soups, stews, burritos, pizza, even a vegan egg that everyone loved, but I didn't make a big deal of saying the ingredients, simply mentioned that since I cooked it for me, too, it's of course vegan (but only when asked because they were confused or they figured it must vegan though nothing was lacking in taste, texture, and satiety, so they were curious about how it was done, and vegan desserts win people over all the time). they were grateful for the delicious food. I was grateful for lovely meals together, great company, and that they enjoyed vegan food. for the children, I simply state "this is what I do and what I eat because of ... " and I leave it at that. bits of information over time make inroads in their knowledge, ideas, perception, and ability to think and at some point make their own decisions, which I've seen them make slowly but surely, not yet vegan but choosing more plant based meals than before ... they are the future, and I believe the future is 100% plant based. but that's the future. in the present, my family is my family, my friends are my friends, and they're better people, family members, and friends than I am in many ways, maybe most ways, and I'd never stop a relationship with any of them for not changing from something that's so ingrained in them as normal and acceptable, and considered normal in society, though I see their plates and see abused, dead animals and disease, not food. I hope for them and for the animals they change, and I do believe it will happen with time, but my only way is by being a good, kind example - caring about animals, and being sweet to all humankind, even those with different, sad ways. they find things I do sad, too, and want to change some things about me, but I respectfully listen, and make my own choices without arguing, and keep doing the best I can. if your friendship was otherwise healthy, I hope you can salvage it. if not, I hope you can befriend like-minded people, but be open to people's differences, upbringing, experiences, and understanding. please don't shut yourself off to the world. be a phenomenal example. you'll see change. you'll also see the beauty in each person, if you choose.

@EMunaBee
@EMunaBee 6 лет назад
Miriam Schiro i apologize if you took my comment as being aggressive or judgmental. that wasn't my intent. perhaps I used the wrong word. it's a strong word with negative connotations. what I meant was, did you end a relationship because you couldn't convince someone to change or to be like you? did you end a relationship because you can't be around anyone who eats differently? do you only have vegan friends and family? are you looking for a vegan community? are you a vegan activist or do you aspire to be one? I was attempting to understand and maybe help, not to be insulting or accusatory. I was asking because while I don't know you, I have found myself in similar situations, and therefore asked questions while also letting you know my similar experiences, how I try, how I deal with it, and giving you encouragement. I will say, at this point, I hope you'll try to hear what all people are saying - take a minute and breathe and think - because you were quick to judge and drop a curious, caring stranger, who's on your side, in a minute. how will you be able to talk to people in a way to hear them out and understand them in order to inspire change? there are RU-vid videos in which activists are able to and unable to convince people. the videos are interesting. one came out last week in which an adult male cried when being shown footage of free range chickens and decided to be vegan on the spot. one interesting thing I noticed is that people seem to have an easier time explaining to and changing the beliefs of people they never before met than in explaining and helping to change the viewpoint of their own close family and friends. it's how it goes. people ultimately make their own decisions, buy we can't let it get to us. I hope you find your peace.

Well done, what a beautiful colour! Will plain alpro soya yoghurt do the trick for the cream? Can't wait for the recipe book!! 😋😊P.s I'm in love with the way you pronounce 'yoghurt' haha, was having some deep thoughts about how ugly I find our British pronunciation of the word in the area I live in 😂😂
@tamcon72
@tamcon72 6 лет назад
I'm pretty sure they use Alpro, because it's light colored and thick before draining. Most of our commercial American soy milk yogurts are not white, but sort of a washed-out beige color, and tend to be quite loose. : (
@amyahearne7369
@amyahearne7369 6 лет назад
tamcon72 Ok thank you! 😊 Sorry to hear that about your yoghurts - do they still taste nice or nay? 😢
@tamcon72
@tamcon72 6 лет назад
+ *Amy Ahearne* Soy yogurt tends to have an unmistakable beany flavor but it's easily concealed with vanilla and spices. Commercial coconut yogurt here looks like it could work for this Victoria Sponge recipe, as it's white, thick, and not strongly coconut flavored. Cultured almond yogurt might also work, but it's expensive. Many of us long to have the quality of products like Alpro and Oatly, but it remains a wish. I know British and Irish people covet some of our meat analogue products, so I guess the differences are a fair trade : )
@miriamschiro1773
@miriamschiro1773 6 лет назад
So if it's yogurt then y do they call it cream cheese 🤔😐 I'm confused now
@tamcon72
@tamcon72 6 лет назад
+ *Miriam Schiro* Once the yogurt is drained of liquid, it is more "set," like cream cheese.
