I drink milk anyways. :) I've found that I can build a resistance to my body's reaction to lactose if I drink steady amounts. If I go a week or two without and go back to normal schedule or if I go way overboard with ice cream, I'll be doubled over in a couple hours almost in tears.

The milk industry is the one of the cruelest mate. EVERY single dairy cow is killed. The females are forcibly impregnated their whole lives to produce milk and have their babies taken away usually within hours of being born, which is very traumatic for any mother. If they are males they are either killed with a sledgehammer (yes that's standard practice stated by animal welfare) or kept in small cages chained up so they cant move and kept for up to 6 months, fed an iron deficient diet so their muscles don't develop and sold as veal, and if they are females then they are grown for some months and then begins their first of many impregnations. These females are milked multiple times a day, everyday, leaving them sick and sucked of their bodies nutrients, they develop bones diseases because of the lack of calcium that is sucked out, and the majority of them develop mastitis from the machines sucking on them daily which causes large infections which causes puss to be milked out into the vats to be drunk. These females will only last 3-5 years usually before they are called a "downer", when they collapse and can no longer stand or produce milk because of exhaustion and are then dragged off chained up to machinery to be sent to the slaughter house. That's why it "sends shivers down his spine"...

This has always been an odd joke to me, because obviously they let you know. If you have a friend with dietary restrictions of some kind they sort of have to tell you them or you'll not know if you're going for a meal/catering for them. It's the same as if a Jewish person who follows Kosher tells you about that or if someone tells you they have a peanut allergy it's kind of important you know sometimes.
