Oh yeah vegeta the reason why light said he didnt do it is because he said “ill discard it” which in the anime that means that hes gonna discard the death note thats why ryuk left because since light said that he is no longer the owner of the death note and when a person discards a death note the owner loses all memory of things they did when they had the death note from that moment and before Lelouch was gonna use his eyes for him to tell the truth but since Light had no memory because he said discard the death note Lelouch cant pull a memory of him being Kira
