Some of my corn got over-mature so it didn't all get picked. The fallen kernels sprouted. It was way too late to let it grow to produce corn. I tried the 3" tall sprouts. They tasted really good (corn flavored)and crazy sweet!
Whatever you put in the grape leaf needs to be already mostly cooked like a wonton! The reason is cause the grape leaves cook extremely fast so you make the filling and you have the leaves layed out than you put the cooked steaming hot filling into the leaves and fold it so it naturally stays folded around the filling like a envelope and you do that quickly with all of them than you heat up some oil and fry them for just about 30 seconds cause they start becoming rubbery if you cook them to long! Jewish people commonly cook stuff in grape leaves and their super picky about how long the leaves are cooked!
John, do you remember chwa from fiverr several years ago? That was me. When you called, I was standing in line at the supermarket. That's why I couldn't talk. Please help me grow my greens. I live in the high desert of California. I love fruits and vegetables and I want to grow my own. I bought a tshirt!

Red Raspberry leaves are not only edible but can be used by pregnant women to help insure and easy pregnancy and childbirth. The famous Dr. John Christopher was a big advocate of using them for this purpose. Also the leaves of a Rose of Sharon tree are edible as are Pomegranate tree leaves.
@@anniemiklavcic7997 You also have to eat a good diet including no dairy and no meat or not too much of it. Dr. christopher always advocated mostly a raw food fruit and vegetable diet.
@@anniemiklavcic7997 did you use an epidural? Almost all woman who take the opiates or get the fentanyl epidural end up having to have c sections because their lower half is temporarily paralyzed so they cant push at all.
I add a couple of small tomato and basil leaves to my tomato sauce and it adds a nice subtle addition to the flavor. The wild turkeys come through the yard and love the tomato leaves.
Man it’s so good to see you so passionate after about a year or so that I haven’t been able to watch or grow my own garden. I come back and see it come across my to watch lost and you never let us down with your passion and knowledge. Keep it up brother!
I have tried pumkin leaves and was surprised at how good they are, but my throat gets a scratchy discomfort for a few days after, even after I boiled them, and I did just eat the young ones. How to you prepare yours? I might just be a little alergic, which would be a shame, if so, becaue they really do taste great
I ate squash leaves, not so great but if I needed to I would eat them. It was like eating felt. I love okra leaves and want to get a variety developed for leaf production. I tried cucumber leaves and got a stomach ache. I ate Amaranth leaves too but everyone knows about that one.
People use squash leaves to wrap other food for steaming or cooking. I have used young squash leaves for stirfries. They are tender and not as fuzzy. Also, different squash leaves have different textures.
Rose of Sharon and pumpkin are the only leaves I have found that taste good. Rose of Sharon does not have much flavor, pumpkin taste wonderful raw (have a great crunch) and there are receipes n You Tube of how to make a soup for them
Black eyed pea leaves are up to 40% protein. I assume asparagus pole beans are too since it`s a very similar closely related variety of hot weather plant in the cowpea family.
If I may ask a question I am brand new to indoor tint growing I have a 2 x 2 little tent being delivered to my house and I’m wondering what the best vegetable grew all winter long would be inside of it I want to try some new style lettuces that I haven’t really eaten a whole lot of but is there anything that I should use in that tent to maximize the small amount of space that I have that I could grow all winter long and eat when I need it
I honestly thought that tomato leaves are actually poisonous especially in large amounts . 🤔 So you can eat the very small tomato leaves at the very top of the tomato plants and how much can you consume in a day . 🤔😮🤔 You are telling us that the very young small leaves at the top of a tomato plant is safe to eat and has more health benefits then a 🍅 . 🤔😮🤔 Will try hopefully I don't get sick or die from it . 🤔🍅 Thank you 😊
Im actually starting to generaly doubt his wisdom on any of this with some of the things he encourages. This is a big chanel and some of this information could hurt people.
@@colonagray2454 Billions of people eat sweet potato leaves. It is a stable. My mom saved more money feeding us sweet potato leaves than sweet potatoes. It was a constant harvest for most of the year and yummy.
Plants grow, store energy, then use that energy to reproduce somehow. Plants don't want to be picked/messed with usually, they have compounds in them that discourage picking/eating/harming them at different stages of their life (this is almost always different in each plant). Sometimes they have psysical deterrants discouraging human/animal/insect from obtaining the energy source (tubers, flowers/buds, or nutritious leaves) they've stored (think of thorny roses or the stinging nettle). However some have fruits that are "encouraged" to be picked and spread their seed (think true apples). It's important to distinguish between these type of plants and adapt our ways of harvesting, processing/preserving, and consuming. Some plants one shouldn't ever eat raw but are ok if, for example, fermented and some plants (not many IMO or in strict moderation) are fine raw. It's very important to pay attention to ones body and how it reacts to all foods wild and domesticated. Fire is good there's a reason humanity has taken off since we found out how to make and harness it. Create and preserve easy to digest food so our bodies can focus on thinking instead of digesting (digestion takes A LOT of energy if it's done incorrectly). We're not cows, God bless 😁
Oh no... i would not eat leaves from Dark shade plants. Not from eggplants, peppers nor tomatos. They trigger arthritis. Probably a builtup of uric acid and other problems. 😮
"Tomato leaves, stems, and unripe, green tomatoes, all contain solanine, a toxic glycoalkaloid found in all members of the “deadly” nightshade family, but they contain very little of it. Tomato leaves and stems also contain small amounts of tomatine, another toxin of the same family."

Eh i dont know about that. If your not sure dont eat it until you are better informed from an expert. Plants can be deadly. Mind you this is more true with foraging but wise in general with potential foods. The LD50 isnt always observable in 1 serving but can build up in your systems.
@@colonagray2454 in the vid the guy says that tomato leaves are edible but they absolutely arent. They will end you If you eat to many! You are absolutely right not to take everything as 100% true! Fig leaves also are super high in latex so if someone has a latex allergy it will end them super fast if they eat just a tiny piece!
