Ramen Street is a collection of ramen restaurants underground in Tokyo Station. There's also Character Street (with kawaii character merch) and Sweets Street. Look for signs to First Avenue. Sora no Iro is a Japanese ramen restaurant that serves regular soy sauce and salt ramen with meat, and also veggie/vegan ramen. And there's a choice! That's unheard of in Japan, where most restaurants don't have any vegetarian options. The "veggie soba" is full of vegetables, with orange noodles and a carrot taste! My favourite ramen is still from T's TanTan, but this was great too.

I had this ramen when I was in Japan last April and I still dream about it to this day, we went back twice because we loved it so much! loved watching this video to reminisce about it instead of being stuck in lockdown.

Thank you for this video! Looks like the next time I go to Japan (all booked, January next year again!) we're gonna have to explore tokyo station a lot more... we spent maybe half an hour there for character street... it was a nightmare to find so we didn't spend long there! That veggie ramen actually looks really good and different!

Yes it’s definitely hard to find! Did you enjoy Japan in January? I was there in February & it wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be (except in Sapporo, haha!)

@@cakeswithfaces indeed there is. As with many places within Tokyo. And the addresses of places usually do not help, at least for me to know which floor something is on within a building. Thanks for replying.

@@WolfyLuna No the addresses are really confusing! Best stick with searching on Google Maps, and remember that you might be looking for a tiny sign, then have to go up a lift/elevator.

About spice, Shichimi is 7 tastes. "Shichi" is 7 and "Mi" is the taste. The stuff you showed was "Ichimi". "Ichi" is a number of 1, so it is only one taste. Hi! Thank you for sharing. I became hungry.

@@cakeswithfaces Thank you for a nice replying! "Ichi-mi" is made of only red pepper. "Shichi-mi" is made of red-pepper, seeds, dry leaves stuff like that of 7 kinds. I don't know the detail contents, sorry. Maybe you cak get information on net. Bye!

The "veg-soba" you had looks very nice (I am watching this upload, salivating :). I am not sure what the normal non-veg ramen price range is in Japan, but the ramens at the restaurant (either veg or non-veg) seem a bit pricey! True that the ramen you had is not like a vegetarian version of ordinary ramen in Japan. I would love to eat a veg version of ordinary miso ramen!!! Also thanks for the info on other veg friendly ramen places in Japan!

The price isn’t bad compared to the UK, but yes you can get cheaper in Japan. My fav is still T’s TanTan, yum! I had veggie miso ramen at a place in Kyoto Station (found it completely by accident, I was very surprised!)

This is great to talk about your vegetarian life style and where to eat. Just an idea, be awesome to talk about gluten free restaurants or places that is gluten free friendly. I’m highly allergic to gluten and would love to visit Japan! But I don’t know where I’d eat in a restaurant that would have that option! Thank you for reading and considering!💖😊

Thanks! I'm no expert on gluten free options but it can be tricky in Japan because of soy sauce, seasoning on sushi rice & miso. I know T's TanTan (my fav) has gluten free options marked on the menu, and there's a gluten free place called Little Bird Cafe near Harajuku :-) It's probably safest to go with a list of gluten free restaurants that you know you can eat at, just in case you get stuck!

Awesome video!! Just wanted to share that it is actually super easy to eat vegan in Japan!! The app Happy Cow is a lifesaver. We travel there often and have probably eaten at one hundred vegan restaurants! We just started our own channel and hope to document our lives as vegans in Japan, so if any of you wanna see all the delicious vegan food Japan has to offer, make sure to check us out!! Happy Cow's great! The problem I have is that I travel with meat eaters, so I'll go to one or two vegetarian restaurants but mostly I need places that serve meat and a veggie option - not so many of those unless you look them up!
