I made this and it was very delicious. However, I did not have time to make the Szechuan sauce so I used store bought, but I will make it soon. Also my boys don't eat four white or wheat, but eat quinoa, oat and almond flour. I used almond flour and that did not bind the balls so I had to add regular flour and it may have made them a little chewy, but still very good. Other than white or wheat flour, what flour would you suggest?
Vivian I have never tried using other flour, only wheat flour or breadcrumbs. You can get gluten-free bread crumbs or make your own by toasting the bread you use to have at home, it works very well! Let me know if you make it using the breadcrumbs, I'm curious to know if you like them. ;)
jovialfoods.com sells Einkorn flour, the only flour that hasn't been changed over the centuries, has very little gluten. Read about it at their site, good stuff.
Have you tried flax seed ? If you soak them in water they secrete this jelly like substance. So if you grind flaxseed very fine and soak in water you can use that as a binding agent Or soaked oats Or banana
My son has been vegan for almost ten years and it gives him back his health and his is so fit and muscled. I have been wanting to be vegan but I don't know what to eat and I found your Chanel. Oh MY Gosh. You are fantastic. I think I will try all your recipes and hey that banana biomass is very interesting also. Thank you chef.
Most of the posts here are 1 to 2 years ago, but I was rewarded by reading and finding your instructions to bake (375°, 25 mins, flip halfway). I plan to either dip or immerse in sweet-and-sour sauce rather than a spicy Szechuan.
I grew up eating veg Manchurians a lot even when I was not a vegan . Loved the dish . So happy to see making it . I live in Calcutta so it makes me super giddy to see you make this. Hope you tried other indo Chinese dishes too .
My banana skin meaballs are in the oven and I am binge-watching your videos! I love everything about your presentations and especially appreciate how you educate us as you go along about the role of certain ingredients. There are so many things I love about your channel.
I am soooo happy to have found your channel! Your style of vegan cooking is what I have been looking for for almost 40 years!! Looking forward to trying all these wonderful recipes!!!
I just discovered your channel, and I am absolutely delighted! Im unfortunately not even a vegetarian but go veggie at least twice a week. I've really enjoyed your recipes, as they're not necessarily meat substitutes but wholesome meals with vegetables. I'm gonna try a few of them out. Have you ever thought of doing a cook book? Xxx
A coincidence , I made it last evening , interesting you know of indo chinese cooking here in India. It is very popular. If you have not visited India already, a whole wide culinary journey awaits you...you will enjoy and with your creativity and professionalism, you could adapt it further to suit various palettes..
I was intrigued to see how this is made as I never heard of the dish, I wasn't intending to make it at first, but then I heard your spiel about where it comes from and your kind instructions of how to fry them and now I am hooked, yet another recipe I must find time to make.. thank you so much.
These Veggie Manchurian balls are delicious Chef Jana, another job well done, thumbs up! Keep up the amazing work, your number one fan is right here, have a wonderful Monday afternoon Chef, keep on cooking, I like the fact this is vegan, people who want to shed a few pounds should eat vegan, you drop the weight in a few weeks! :)

I made it gluten free by substituting gf flour and millet flour for corn flour. You can add brown sugar to the sauce if someone prefers it sweet. My husband loved it
Yummmmmmmm! That looks so good! Thank you for the recipes and wonderful tutorials! I would love to learn all the cool things that you want to teach in the kitchen! ❤️Kathy
Thanks Jana, I want to make it and enjoy. If you are going to give cooking tips, gardening and things, I really like. Happily waiting for that. Love you Jana❤

Hello Chef Jena I’m new to channel and already watch a few of your videos. I love the simplicity of your dishes. I’m definitely going to try them. Thanks for sharing with us vegans and others I guess.
no green chillis for me! I can´t handle too much heat, I love how you can adjust the heat on these manchurian balls, the BEST VEGAN CHEF in you tube does it again, incredible recipe chef Jana
Hey there Albert! Oh, you are way too nice, really... the best! :) Oh, that's one of the best things about this dish, you can spice it up onto a comatose level or just as low as a tickle in the back of your tongue. :)
What a beautiful presentation my lovely chef... awesome recipe...u cook food with lot of love and passion...that it must be tasting divine...big thumbs up dear
Jana, I'm in LOVE with this vegetarian manchurian! This is my absolute favourite and I always eat it with a big bowl of fried rice or noodles! I'm literally drooling right now and I need to make this super soon! I am still dreaming of that gorgeous Schezuan sauce you made and I'm going to make a batch of it to use it in this manchurian recipe! So so good! 😍💗😘
I know right?... I'm so addicted to Indo Chinese cuisine lately, my son was here last week and he asked me to make the ,Manchurian balls almost every day!... By the way, what part of India are you from? I've just made Dahi bhindi and posted here on my channel, as a tribute to you and all my Indian followers, I'm dying to know your input on my attempt of recreating the amazing Indian food!
Hello there! You absolutely can use the air fryer, I haven’t made those in the air-fryer yet but I assume it’s the same method you’d use for a regular meatless ball 😘
Are use the very fine shredded cabbage so for salads in the produce department instead of chopping the cabbage. I also use it in my wontons. I have a hard time finding it at times because it’s so popular but it makes this dish easier to handle when you don’t have all the skills that this beautiful young woman has
Veg Manchurian is one of my favourites and your recipe looks great! I will give it a try. Thank you so much. And I just have to add that I have a little giggle every time you say 'least but not last'...so cute.
Omg you are the best. Thank you so much. I’m obsessed with meatballs and I’m transitioning to a vegan lifestyle. I appreciate this! Can I substitute the regular flour for almond flour? Also, can I substitute the soy sauce for liquid aminos?
Hey sweetheart, yes you can use almond flour and yes to liquid aminos as well, I actually prefer to be honest with you... I'm so happy you're transitioning to veganism, its a very nice way of living and if you ever need something, some help or advise or something, let me know and I'll do what I can to help you during this transition time. :)
