With a few pieces of charcoal in it this would make a good emergency cooker in case of a power outage…could heat water or soup or make a quick meal.
@Lord_RavnFar_Tannerwise
@Lord_RavnFar_Tannerwise 6 лет назад
bet this could be used with tea light candles indoors too. might take abit to heat up but in a power outage its better then nothing!

I wonder if you could remove a couple of the "fins" from the steamer to create a place to feed new sticks through?
@davesullivan8073

I would get 3 small pieces of wire & space them 1/3 the way around the top & ty 3 pairs of flaps as to secure the top....I’ve been buying these at G SALES & thrift stores for about a year now.... .50 is my limit 😉. Also I would experiment cutting a few ajacent flaps at about the half way point to make a wood feeder hole. Also considered dropping one in a can, adding holes on bottom & top with legs for steadier base and potential larger cooking capacity.

@Iridium242 3 года назад
You know its funny, I just found mine, totally forget where, but i think its for a smaller instant pot like device or crock pot. I found mine in a bunch of odds and ends in my survival gear I wonder if anyone else can help if they have seen these sized racks before!

Not sure but perhaps see what they have for air fryers or pressure cookers, they’ll be small size.

I built a number of hobo rocket stoves with those grills and found those little grills in a Chinese grocery stove in the hardware section.

I would have gotten rocks or use the ground and dig a hole and cook over that. I can see if you have water and coffee filters that could be good for a water purifier.

Need to make one of those steamer's with no hole's on the leaf's leaving the hole's only on the bottom. Then connect two of them together flat part to flat part one with no hole's on the leaf's and the bottom one with hole's on the leaf's for a clean burn. The one on top with no hole's will draft air up from the bottom one with hole's focusing the heat straight up to your cooking area. Then fold both side's down and stash in a camping pot. 👍

quickly made a version with materials on hand.. Look forward to trying it out.. I cut a few of the fins halfway down so that I can feed Twigs underneath but didn't ruin the support. (Removing a few fins would cause them all to fall in. And I have one removable copper wire for now as a spacer to hold them at the right distance for my Titan kettle. May switch to something else instead of copper later. Tnx

That would be nice, however why would anyone want to pay titanium prices just for a simple household item? In that case just get a titanium wood burning stove like Firebox nano or other.

I need a suggestion on how to clean Soot off my pans, grills etc.. Any ideas ?? Please !!! Anyone ??? Heeelp
@Iridium242
@Iridium242 4 года назад
I dont worry about it too much but I will use some comet and a scrub pad to clean it off after a trip is over. Grills I dont worry about at all as they will just get dirty again, I just make sure to get any grease or food off them and they are good to go.
@Christopherjamesmurphy21

Just use stuff sacks made from old clothes to cover the dirty pots, so it doesn’t cover your other gear

Thanks, I still use it from time to time, I did have to buy a new better made steamer as after burning it a few times that cheap one got really hard to fold up, but the better new one has been used lots and is still going strong.
