Vehicle Takes Out Power Pole in Antioch 

At 6:16 pm Sunday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a power pole on Contra Loma Blvd near San Carlos Drive in the City of Antioch. When firefighters arrived on scene, the male had exited the vehicle and began walking away from the vehicle. Firefighters said the male appeared dazed and were attempting to keep him on the sidewalk as he walked away. He was later transported to a local hospital. The incident also knocked out power to about 400 homes.
