I’m pretty sure in episode one of Go-Onger the first three members use the wheels in combat specifically to run along the ground or help them spin. I think it’s when we first see them fight against the incinerator banki
Should note that what is likely the reason why the ToQger suits are so simple is because of the color change gimmick. Since they would have to make multiple costumes for each different suit actor as well as for the particular number of each Ranger, it makes sense to keep it relatively simple to mass produce.
Dekaranger? Their costume numbers can be seen as the white squares on a road and their Helmets have sirens on them which police CARS have. Boukenger? Like cmon. There’s no explanation for not having them in (they actually used the headlights in a few episodes & the Gekiranger team-up)
Very fair! I do consider the police theme to be the dominant theme, as opposed to some other teams I mentioned whose concepts might be half-half. But I getcha!
Boukenger is my #1 sentai because the Precious look cool like Solomon's Ring and the Mountain Crushing Kanabo, the villains based on past sentai mechas, and the main team having cool personalities. My favorite ranger is BoukenPink.
My favorite monsters from The Negative Syndicates are; Gordon Civilization: Mogari, Jaryuu Clan: Talong, Dark Shadow: Zukangami, Questers: Quester Robo Turbo, Precious: Madness Weather.
i adore the kiramager suits so much. theyre just so shiny and rub that specific itch. however... the boukenger helmets are amazing. the grill mouths look so cool and i love the more sleek look to them
Imagine Turboranger, Carranger and Boonboomger. A Showa vehicle team, a Heisei vehicle team and a Reiwa vehicle team crossover movie. Shi bouta go crazy fr.
I was thinking would the Sonic cast fit the vehicle themed sentai because they have drive vehicles before, like Team Sonic Racing. and a new poll revealed japans favorite sentai red ranger is from Kosuko Sentai Turboranger.
I was hoping you'd include Boukenger and Kiramager. You did not disappoint. Well done, sir. As for my favorites... TurboRanger and Go-Onger. The former has a premise that sounds a lot like the premise for MMPR, technology VS the supernatural. However, TurboRanger plays it straight-forward, and I respect that considering just about all other vehicle-focused seasons have really leaned in to the comedy. As for the latter, Go-Onger just has a certain heart to it, ya know? Sure, it's a comedy. And it has an eco-friendly message. And yet, I just adore these characters, I adore the soundtrack, and I never felt like the story was slave to the comedic parts. I even got sad when the villains met their ultimate end. After seeing King-Ohger and it's surprisingly well made, story-driven plot; part of me is afraid BoonBoomger will be too comedic, too lighthearted, too safe. However, if it's a bit more balanced like Go-Onger or takes a sincere approach to its story like TurboRanger, then I think we'll be in good hands.
If BoonBoomger is something like Carranger in terms of tone and likability, then I think we in for something good. The suits are kinda growing on me, but not fully but I’ll keep an open mind.
My favorite part of the Train based Sentai team is the Swap Mechanic Trade there Train peice in their Changer and BOOM they're now the other Ranger color Probably a reference to how trains can Swap around Cars
i genuinely thought signal man was from metal heroes for literally the longest time. i never watched power rangers turbo growing up, so i never knew he was in that show, let alone the sixth ranger until only a few years ago.
Has anyone else noticed that up until Dino Fury, all the car themed red rangers have been black and only the African American red rangers have had car zords? We got T.J. with Red Lightning for Turbo, Jack with Delta Runner 1 in SPD, Scott with Eagle Racer in RPM, and Devon with the Racer Zord in Beast Morphers. Quite a coinky dink isn’t it?
Short Trivia Turboranger- only Pre-Zyus Car themed sentai Carranger- Self parody that uses that power rangers adapted by using the title of its parody of origin Go-Onger: Comedic sentai that was adapted way too far in Power Rangers by using a Post-apocalyptic theme. Kiramager- First Reiwa Car-themed sentai with non-Sentai references (PPAP) Boonboomger- The Second Reiwa Car- Themed sentai with a Pokemon Reference (The Writer of this season and Bundorio Bunderas)
The Go-Onger helmets always miffed me, cause I imagine the Headlights as the literal eyes of the helmet and not the pitch black visor. The same with Gao Ranger, the Visor seems less visible compared to other helmets
From what, im seeing atm on the toy side, i really like how they utilized the main truck mecha to be some form of start and finish line and the smaller vehicles passing thought it, to unlock their abilites. It gives alot of playability with vechiles side of the mecha
I'm going to be honest, the tire helmets are a bit of a hard sell to me. I think I saw one person make some mock up designs where the tire visor is instead showing the treads of the tire rather than the rim, and I think it works better for a traditional helmet design
I don't really care for the boonboomger suit designs. I like the ideas, but not the execution. The lack of color gices the suits a plain and bland look. The large protruding tires above thr lips gices them a cyclops design, and the oblong heads clash with the roundness of the tires. I think my favorite redesign replaces the gray with their respective colors, keeps the tire prominent without protruding, adds the speedometer to the helmet, and makes the helmet round to match the design of the tires. Also it would have been cool of they played with the tire design a but more, maybr having each ranger have a tire placed in a different spot and thus have a unique function.
@MuseHope what else does Turbo mean in terms of automobiles other than its being short hand for turbocharger, Mr smarty pants. do you shift your turbo in your vehicle?
No Sentai has left worse of a first impression than Turboranger did. That first episode was garbage. I am still of the opinion that Turboranger alone almost got Super Sentai Cancelled and Fiveman just came out at a bad time. Justice for Fiveman!
Fiveman was a very lazy show at the start, it got good by the final arc. It felt like it tried so bad to go back to the showa formula but pulled off of that idea too late
