till this day i still think this is their best song

When he actually says "It's not safe to swim today," and "If we can't even trust ourselves, how can we trust anyone else?" It is so moving.

10 years later and this still goes hard asf \m/

I love how melodic yet heavy this band can be.

this song has like 20 different sections rammed into less than 3 minutes, and it still makes perfect sense :D

A couple days ago, I heard news that a student that used to go to my high school killed himself. I just found out today that he drowned himself. I immediately thought of this song and how well it correlates with his death. I was never close to the guy, but from now on this song will always remind me of him.

I feel really bad for people that don't get this type of music.

1:40 an unbelievable metalcore sequence

12 years later, still slaps harder than much of the music coming out today. We do have some modern gems with the younger generations finding their footing in music, but it can be hard to find effort like this nowadays.

Still one of the hardest songs to cover on the drums IMO, the footwork is fucking insane. Especially the 5-4-2-5-4-2 double bass breakdowns, I always fuck that up!!!

I love every VOM song, even when they do more pop sounding stuff it's still good but this song in particular is brilliant. How they thought this up is crazy. I bet it floated down to them from the Gods lol

I will forever love how chaotic this song is, and how the structure and timing signatures were all off. I think bands like this led the way for bands like oceans ate Alaska.

So many people underestimate the actual talent of some of your typical 'core' bands. Veil of Maya definetly proves those poeple wrong. Veil of Maya has been one of my all time favorite bands. And this song in paticular just never gets old. The guitars are outstanding, the drums are too, and even the vocals/lyrics are great. I have no negative feed about this song what so ever. I just plain out fucking love it.

If we can't even trust ourselves... how can we trust anyone else? The fucking chord progression is dirty. Also, their drummer has some of the best fucking chops in the industry. Almost makes me want to learn his name. Almost. Definitely my favorite metal band of all time.

I wasn't able to go to Summer Slaughter Tour this year. All the bands playing were like my most favorite ever too... :'( My friend Jared went though. He absolutely adores all the bands that played, but mostly Veil of Maya. He said Rings of Saturn was also epic and yes, he did mention Marc's wall of death.
