Been listening to Veil Of Maya since 2010. Can't wait for the new album. It's been a little over 5 years since "False Idol" which was a great album like all of their older and recent releases. I'm over hearing yearning for a new VOM Album, and 🔜 soon.
glad to see that you like their newer stuff and their older stuff. Same here. Too many people say that new VOM isn’t as good and I just can’t disagree more
@@joshalicea9870 Yup, they are just amazing. To each their own I guess. I go from listening to The Glass Slide from them to Leeloo or Lisbeth, and Outsider.
@@joshalicea9870 agreed as a fan since 2011 love old and new VOM, but False Idols is my least enjoyed album all the new shit after that album I have liked more though
I believe the 2 songs he's talking about from the scrapped album were Members Only and Outsider. It's a shame because I love those songs and I think going back to Taylor Larson was a great idea, but even Taylor said on Instagram that there was some bad feelings involved between both parties.
I don't think their underrated. I've been listening to them since 2010. They've been one of the most popular bands definitely in the early Sumerian Records days along with, Born Of Osiris, Periphery, Upon A Burning Body, After The Burial, The Haarp Machine etc...
I understand their thrive to release new music on their album and keep it predominantly new songs, but I also really loved Members Only, Outsider, Viscera and Outrun. I personally would have loved to have heard some of the other songs they scrapped to be honest. But also, as much as I love Synthwave Vegan, Godhead and Red Fur, those 3 singles although might sound great on the album they'll release in May, they're not as good as the 3 songs they released before that. But with that said, the band announced the new album yesterday and are already planning the follow up album so I'm excited for a super productive Veil of Maya 🤘 and the previous singles are getting their own EP so I'm glad that VOM haven't completely abandoned them.
I say this because not only was this album not album of the yr it was quite disappointing tbh....album of the yr went to oceans ate alaska by far and song of the yr was NOVA
Man, I really wish one day everyone in VOM would collectively agree with the consensus of all their die hard fans and stop singing, write riffs that inspire and wow people, and just straight up not f'in sound like a ton of other gay bands. Marc, you're the man. But please quit this "let's evolve by doing things that people don't want to hear from us."
I agree, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the first 2 albums, and it’s honestly just a slap in the face to your fans to move so far away from the original sound, for more pop-punk sounding garbage. Starting to think they sold out .
Along with all of these other “gay bands” isn’t there also a huge plethora of death metal/deathcore bands who sound like they copy and pasted whitechapel’s Phil Bozeman vocals all over the song. And saying they sold out because they chose a more melodic approach is the most close minded comment that plagues these “die hard” fan comment strings. I think a die hard fan would qualify as someone that likes both their old and new stuff.
@@frostbyten marcs guitar work and style has remained consistent and if anything gotten heavier since hr started using 7 strings. Instrumentally the band is still metal as fuck. Don't dog the whole band just bevause you dont like clean vox
