This is a really nice change I would say! 🟣 Leave a like or the tentacles will get you! Now maybe we'll get the Cho'Gath ASU too soon since it's Voiding time!!
I dig the fact that they finally fixed the E, especially after Phreak publicly stated that it wasn't happening and 'koz mains were just out of touch. Love it. Well done.
Phreak was right for once lol. can be 0/10 on the champ and one shot someone as long as you hit E. It was already far easier to hit than tahliyah flip and he does twice her damage early/mid. idk why they would make it easier.
its ok guys phreak went into editor mode and in a quick minute(being pretty generous) he found out that velkoz mains dont know what they talking about how can 1 man be so efficient right ? jokes apart happy for velk mains very important change
i was playing him as adc since start of this season and got me to diamond II nicely, finally i was recently saying to my friends this stuff about this E and like even aurelion had this on Q before velkoz and he was even never than him, well ye in mid he is pretty good too but, like if u play vs too many dash champions its no go, this will help just a little bit more overall
As a Malzahar main, i wish they rush to change my character as fast as they do others. It took them six months to fix's Malz "E" which is his bread and butter. Riot is bogus
the only nerf to his E is that now you must time the rengar ulting on you and you preparing your E a bit later than before. i landed it in 2 tries but the first try my E ran out before rengar animation jumped on me. i used to do it almost perfect everything before. i must adapt i guess xD
My humble prediction as a VK player is that he's gonna need a bit more tuning up to even COMPETE with newer champions. There's just too many champs that provide more at the moment.
@@VaMage I don't need to provide anything, he designed most of the things people hate nowadays, you can just do a quick search of what he designed on champs and patchs
What about the fact that his E disappears if you die before the full animation finishes? Also will his E-knock up and W-part 2 still get blocked by Yasuo wind-wall?
@@saddoombringer2149 it would make his hit boxes, attack timers, spell missle speed, AA animation, all work correctly. Right now he has 28 diff folders instead of 3 in the game files so everything lags and bugs. Not to mention hes smaller in game than teemo.
Nice changes to Vel'koz. But besides that, the writings about the problem with Vel'koz are very much true. Immobile mages really do suffer in general, and Riot trully are biased and obsessed with "exciting" hypermobility, as well as Bruisers and Assassins. They really do have no more place in the current meta. 1. Spellvamp is pretty much non existent for mages and if it does, it is NOTHING in comparison to AD life steal which is present in all AD Class. (And they have crits too) 2. There is very little counterplay for dash skills. Displacement is very difficult to pull-of on some heroes that do have it like Trundle, Thresh, Ahri, etc. while heroes that have grounded abilities can be countered by even more smart use of dashes like Cassiopeia, and Singed, and similar mechanics like Taliya, and Veigar 3. Back then, mages are feared as their spells ALWAYS scale harder than AD abilities. But now, most mages are supposed to "tickle" enemy health as assassins are the only ones that are supposed to 100-0 an enemy with one skill rotation. 1 lethality item Assassin will always outdamage a 1 Magic Item Mage. 4. Most immobile mages are very much erradicated in mid by Assassins and hypermobile heroes, and a lot of them works as support now, like Morgana, Zyra, Annie, even Lux, Brand, Syndra ,and Orianna. 5. Mana and Rabadon's are a hindrance to mages. Mana is there to be a required limit to their skills (while tons of heroes are manaless or energy based, mostly fighters and assassins). Rabadon's is the "Flash" of the mage items. You cannot really NOT build it if you go mage. It basically has a permanent slot in Mage's items which limits build. If you don't build it, you just lost a TON of Magic power.
"1 lethality assassin will always outdamage a 1 magic item mage" have u played league this season, any meta mage rapes with full combo lmao, dont u dare call syndra and orianna balanced the most popular picked mages rn lmao such a shit take
Yeah, my biggest complain about today's meta is assassins being " AD spam mages ". Back then you see a zed using his combo you know you're safe for a few seconds, now its him shitting on your head every 5 seconds , plus an item to make him unpunishible after doing so. Mages = High burst OR high mana OR low CD Some ads = High damage AND low CD + i don't have mana anyway
they should lower his damage then does riot eaven know how frustrating it is to play non hypermobilty champs already they think everyone plays yone, lee sin, zed, vayne, pyke
Even if I used to play a lotta Vel back in the Ole days, I rarely use E like, there is at least 30 games that I never used E. It's like the most useless skill for me because it's so slow Vel is already slow in the first place. I'm happy with this change man this is an early Xmas gift from Rito
I mean I like it for the vle koz players, but as a shen players I think its weird that they also stopped playing it after it happened with shen, but they get a fix quicker ?
This, was needed, still, velkoz is not viable, he is really not good enough at any of the things he does, not burst, nor poke, nor wave clear, nor sustained damage, nor tf, nor utility. He is pretty decent at all of them when played well though, but being decent at a bunch of things does not makes the cut on this game. Making him have a more realiable response to his greatee weakness (gapclosers) is a really nice step forward. Probably they should really double down on his ap tank melter capabilties, while mantaining his low cds/mana ability spam playstyle.
As a mid vel'koz main, you should try landing E on any new champion (and sometimes even old ones) I constantly have to predict movement if i want to land anything or else I'm dead, now at least people won't treat me as a free kill
Outrange them with your q then. Besides, the only way you should be using the knockup is defensively imo. The fact that they are reworking his knockup to basically be visible only when it's too late is terrible imo.@@RBrito-fd4lc
Its annoying how the community & rito supports incompatable and potencially toxic fan ships over actually healthy ships that not only create development but complement the other champions. Like TF and Graves are both brainless man children that can only bicker with each other. No saw the holes in the Liana ship at all. After Mageseeker, the J4×Shyvanna ship is now pretty bad.
J4xShyvanna was ALWAYS bad, it was a "native american falls in love with slave master colonialist" type of rancid shipping that got shoved down people's throats by Disney in the 60's and 50's and by other authors in previous centuries, its just weird. GravesxTF is not horrible but you can tell it was a retcon and that their character dinamics haven't changed from when they were just partners so they still act like that, but you can fix it. DianaxLeona is just lesbian Romeo and Juliet, so basically its been done a thousand times before but its pretty inoffensive, most of it has to do with the fact that they were originally concieved as lovers by the writers but PR said no no.
@@comentariorandom1264 you're comparing a ship that signals a slave to master relationship being just as bad as a regular gay ship with no harmfull implications, i think media literacy is not everyone's strong points tho.
Reading these comments has already made me feel the error of my ways and im truly sorry but still feel like there should be made an effort to add ships (queer or straight) that actually helps both characters grow instead of add ones that are just add simply for fan demand. One of the real bad queer fan ship is sett×aphelios was a way better example.
@@Art51151 Thats true, but remember that Riot is kind of a piece of shit, so they will most likely never commit to a true relationship because they're afraid of the investors pulling out on them
Holy shit finally! I've been wanting this as a change ever since I mained him as my first champ. Like, why did that take so long?! It felt so obvious to give it a shorter cast time closer to him to ensure that these champs with 800 gapclosers compared to him would have slightly more trouble getting on him. I'm so happy my boi is getting love. He's still as smart to play as ever but now he actually has reliable CC! If people complain about this necessary tweak making the champ too strong just look at Syndra and that's all you need to even think about lol
@@Zergling.I somehow forgot that was ever the case and thought I was just plain stupid and didn't know it could be re-casted. Happy to know it was added subsequently and I wasn't just apparently unable to read.
Because when Vel'koz came out there were not this many champs with gapclosers. He was LITERALLY the last champion released that has no "movementspeed boost"/"steroid"/"dash" . After Vel'koz every single champion released has atleast one of the above or multiple. It was fine when he was released, but now the 200year overloaded kit champs are around so he feels weak compared to them ... kh-khm Hwei with 10 skills khm
@ImmaterialDream yeah I mean this was a long time coming, and if Riot did care a little harder about the playerbase they would have taken this into account a long time ago, but better late then never I suppose. Also don't complain about Hwei. He's bound by the same rules as every other Mage, except he has more options and more utility. Same rules, but more options. For a champion designed intentionally to be 'complex and to intentionally have a high skill ceiling' he's very reasonable and fair and honest. It just takes number tweaks for him, nothing more or less. The abilities themselves are fine (especially the W skills, I quite love them)
The biggest hypocrisy of all time is him leaving social medial ( / muteall ) , while saying everyone can't have pings because some people can't behave , so you have to type "karthus ult ", even if the game has a mute option IN CLIENT, IN QUEUE AND IN GAME. Riot Phreak - Alive Riot Phreak - Alive Riot Phreak - Alive
as a vel koz big brain main im glad my defense ability isn’t a means for bonus damage to kill my attacker but a nice get away from my foes in mind i have missed e to many times and it always costs my life it’s not that im slow it’s the fact my foes are fast with their dashes and junk i had to actually read their exact input to counter it vel koz is the only champ i play that i have to be the biggest of brains
Actualy its the most important abillity of velkoz and with the cast time its hard to hit it if not slow with Q so its good, anyway it will not make velkoz overbroken just more menacing in lanning phases
One of the few chamops left with basic counterplay and they remove it. Why cant ytgey just go the other way instead of turning league into a prediction game. You used to be able to react and dodge as long as your reaction time was good enough
I like velkoz and i think the shorter travel time at close range is a very good change, but im not sure that making the actual hitbox circle harder to see is going to help anyone. Looks kinda un-fun to play against, idk.
its a skillshot you can dodge by WALKING ACROSS at max range. this just makes u pay attention to what velkoz is doing instead of dodging his WORST CC ABILITY IN THE ENTIRE GAME. some people just dont get how simply atrocius his e is and i dont blame em lmao
@@siduxjxhdgzhdjxhxuuxxyhgg1079 his E is not meant to be used at random while the enemy can dodge it though? His entire thing is about timing things perfectly to where he can hit his skillshots, his E was never really meant to be easy to land its like complaining about Cho'gath's Q both are extremely similar. its more like follow up cc, not every champ needs a billion disengage tools.
@@opportunity3278you're actually comparing chos q to vel e... You're either on something or don't play either of them. Cho q is leagues above vel e both in reliability and landing it. Cho doesnt get windwalled, is bigger, and very easy to land. Only people missing cho q are newbies 😂
Just a question, are you based in NA for lpp program. Curious cause ig affects who your codes would work for. Edit: cant ask in direct email cause captchas hate my browser.
@@dbrawla6319Positioning is the highest skill you can have in this game...plus landing e felt impossible on any new released champions... He is also hard not just because you can press r and deal a fuckton of damage, its harder to play because you need precise timing to burst. He is a burst mage at the end of the day, xerath is artilery. Speaking of, a good velkoz player lands qs at a lot of angles. I dont think you can land a simple low range q. You can't even do anything if you dont land qs, you have no dmg output unless someone gets closer, which is bad for you without this change so you get one shot. If you tell me you one shot everyone and get fed, you are probably below gold, which tbf its understandable. Those people cant avoid a decently executed play. And they dont know how to dodge skillshots.
I'm serious right now - what's thie difference, is it OP with Vel'koz or not? Look at Kai'Sa's W at the point of visibility, please. I think, it should be tested but it's really significant change to make V'K even more special and viable (V'K is still excellent with knowledge of geometry... but deff buff would make him less relevant to some combos dependent on right placed E). In the end, i assume, that new-late indicator will be removed but the speed of cast of E will remain and change the playstyle in favor to the champ.
Next they need to fix his ult (too slow) or change his passive to fit his character theme more. For example he's a researcher so a passive that gives him scaling true dmg when he procs passive. You could also take this a step further by making passive a combo system ie whichever ability procs his passive last gives a small bonus Q-extra dmg, W-movement spd and E- longer stun duration or shield. I think this would give vel more skill expression and able to keep more with the million dash champions
This will make him pretty viable though he kind of already is. For example, take him top and laugh at the top laner who can't even touch you because you're vel koz and he's not getting to you without flash or the jungler.
That post made me think of a Jungle Karthus match I played the other day. Enemy locked in assassin kayn, and I proceeded to be unable to play the game the whole match while my teammates yell at me for being bad. Granted, I don't jungle often and was trying out jungle karthus, but I'd been doing really well in matches leading up. This dude would abandon teamfights the moment he saw me to come chase me down. I couldn't stay close to my team because I'd die in crossfire, and I couldn't stand back because Kayn just doesn't believe in walls. And of course, my teammates just didn't care when I tried to explain this to them.
Well nice for the vel'koz players but changes like these don't usually change player preference on where to play what champ. I remember amumu getting very nice changes for jungle but despite that he was only picked support back then with the double bandage toss. He's probably just going to be better as a support than a laner because people rather pick ori or syndra mid instead of vel as far as I know. Kind of a shame because I miss the older picks on lanes from old seasons.
Ap burst getting smashed for 1 patch- rito "WE MUST BUFF HIM!" Marksmen being eviscerated for the past 10 seasons "They're fine, no buffs no adjustments, but let's give everyone BUT them new items in the new season shall we?" I'm not sure what makes me want to kill myself more, playing an adc or trying to land Q as a morgana vs bronze+ players. That shit is so slow I can learn chinese and spam chat in chinese curses before it misses.
