Velma Review Gets WORSE - Doubles DOWN on Hating Men Season 2 Episode 2 

Velma Review of Season 2 Episode 2 on HBO Max, where we find out the serial killer actually just hates dudes. Determined to separate them from anything that makes them a man, Velma still doesn't see this as worse than the first series. As in the first series the victims were people she thought actually mattered. I've not seen the later episodes yet as I watch them as I record so I don't know whats coming. But so far this series is shaping up in the same escalating style of Series 1, which means I'm dreading the finale. But what do you think of what you saw? I have a theory. This show is really about the delusions of lunatic who is desperately trying to convince herself that she isn't in an asylum.

This show is like if a hyperpoltical 14 year old who frequents r/atheism wrote this in 2020. No understanding of the topics they speak of it let alone the commentary they are making of it, if there even is any. Mindy just feels like an out of touch rich person who had TikTok during quarantine and saw the worst left talking points and ran with them.

57 seconds, that's what it took to have a "F-You" moment for me from the show. Showing a normal looking Velma and Daphne and calling them copies of their crap versions just means their bitter that their characters aren't doing well. Also, good call out on that Disparu,

This is a prime example of "a character can only be as smart as the person writing them." Which leads me to believe the entire writers room may add up to a room temperature IQ. I take shits that have a higher IQ than mindy "self insert" kayling.

Isn’t it hypocritical for Velma to criticize people for having blind faith when her whole thing in season one was her still believing that she can find her missing mother?

Fred continues to be the only somewhat-likeable character in the show. Maybe because he's the only actor who feels right for the character they're trying to portray. He's also a paradoxical underdog, because the show does everything it can to portray him with zero redeeming qualities. It feels like he exists in a world that does nothing but despise him and try to undermine everything he is, but he powers through it.

What if the camera continued to follow the "copycat" Velma and Daphne, shortly after we are introduced to Scooby and all the real characters., all things leading up to that moment would have just been a nightmare fake out.

Velma is so terrible, that I don't believe this show has any reason to exist other than money laundering

The sad thing is that Mindy Kaling doesn't realize that the things she says about herself through her writing, are things she ought desperately to hide because normal people will find them sad and strange. She thinks all the weirdness represents common traits and experiences that most women feel. She is that out of touch with the human norm.

Edit: it's even more annoying that he is wearing the garments of an abbe which typically takes 4 years to obtain and wouldn't even need to "buy" a relic. Also the church doesnt immediately jump to demonic possessions, there is an entire process involved.

If I wasn't already a devout Christian, I'd be running for the nearest church right now just to be as unlike Velma as possible.

Im a traditional Catholic, and the great Disparu's review and the people in the comments have raised my spirits. There are some nasty people who wouldnt dare show this sort of scorn to other religions, not because they're tolerant, but because they know there'd be repercussions so all their spite is reserved for Catholics because they know there'll be no consequences. So while that's annoying, its very encouraging to hear sense from Disparu and my fellow nerds. Deus Vult.

The winning pair gets a reward of sorts... by getting their win announced on the nightly news! Velma... is aware that being a standout in school is usually frowned on by other students, right? Okay, jump back a bit... half the school is going to come down, one at a time, and pick two balls from the tumbler, and that's how the groups are paired up? So, one half of the school doesn't get to grab balls, and thus, gets paired up without their own ability to choose? Oh. I think I see what they were trying to stab at there... And... how does the oiling count get done? How many pairs of students are out there working? Versus how many teachers even work at the school? Much less would be willing to follow their 'assigned' pair around to count their work? Unless the whole thing is on the honor system? In which case, what's stopping the students from just lying? How could the faculty possibly know? Or, as is my theory: The only two pairs that are actually doing any oiling are Daphne and... Freaky Goth They/Them... versus Velma and Fred, and everyone else just fucked off for the weekend?
