Hello Everyone Welcome To Engineer’s Academy
In this video we will learn the another property of the Fluid flow I.e. velocity Gradient,
Velocity gradient is defined as the diffrentiation of velocity as a function of distance dv/dx. ... The difference in velocity between adjacent layers of the fluid is known as a velocity gradient and is given by v/x, where v is the velocity difference and x is the distance between the layers.
The top most of the layer which is in contact with the Outer plate which is in motion will have more velocity than its adjacent layer which will have low velocity, just below that another layer will have low velocity. This variation in the velocity of fluid is known as velocity gradient.

It's a velocity profile of a fluid flow, shows change(increase/decrease) in velocity at unit perpendicular distance(depth)... Thank you 😊

sir.in this topic i have studied that u increases with distance from wall but at decreasing rate.....can you explain it how?? or you have uploaded any video about it? (unit operation of chemical engineering chapter 2)
