Hello Everyone Welcome To Engineer’s Academy
In this video we will learn the types of fluids, there are Several Types of Fluids, these are as follows,
1. Ideal Fluid
2. Real Fluid
3. Newtonian Fluid
4. Non-Newtonian Fluid -
i. pseudoplastic fluid (Shear thinning Fluid)
ii. Dialatant Fluid (Shear Thickening Fluid)
5. Plastic Fluid
6. Ideal Plastic Fluid
Explanation
1. Ideal Fluid
These are Imaginary fluid Which Does not have any viscosity / any compressibility and does not have any surface Tension, all fluids have these Properties.
2. Real Fluid - These are the Fluids Which have certain Viscosity, Surface Tension & Compressibility.
3. Newtonian Fluid - the Fluid Which Obeys the Newton’s Law of Viscosity.
4. Non Newtonian Fluid - The Fluid which Does Not Obeys the Newton’s Law of Viscosity.
pseudoplastic fluid (Shear thinning Fluid)
After Application of Certain Pressure i.e. Shear Force, the Viscosity of the Fluid Decreases,
Ex. Toothpaste coming out from Tube, Sauce bottle.
Dialatant Fluid (Shear Thickening Fluid)
After Application of Certain Pressure i.e. Shear Force, the Viscosity of the Fluid Increases,
Ex. Mixture of Water & Cornstarch i.e. oobleck.
5. Plastic Fluid- A Bingham plastic is a viscoplastic material that behaves as a rigid body at low stresses but flows as a viscous fluid at high stress.
6. Ideal Plastic Fluid- Ideal Plastic Fluid: A fluid in which shear stress is more than the yield value and shear stress is proportional to the rate of shear strain (or velocity gradient).
