Thanks for the review. It helped us decide to buy. My wife and I purchased two Discover 1s on sale for $1,100 each. We love them. My wife’s commute is 500 to 1000 feet gain in elevation and the bike handles the hills no problem even with her laptop and other work items. The brakes work very well. The range is excellent . 40-60 miles. Again, we love these bikes, but I do have some feedback for Velotrec. The bike would be better if they expanded the range of their sprockets. The highest gear is good for power level 4, but not quite so good for power level 5. You have to pedal extremely fast on power level 5 to avoid “ghost pedaling” (i.e. pedaling with no resistance)
We are glad this review provided helpful insight so you could find the right bikes for you and your wife. They just released the Discover 2 and solved the issues you are speaking of. Glad you are enjoying your bikes and thank you so much for sharing your experience and your thoughts! Happy Riding :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R5IrplJ36kY.html
I just watched your velotric discovery 1 video after watching go 1 a couple of days ago. I am torn about which one to get for my sister who is 64yo 5'2" 245 ....I am leaning towards to go 1 because of her shorter stature. do you agree? mainly paved bike/walking trails recreational but some lite grocery runs occasionally Thanks in advance Andy
Yes, I would recommend the Go1 which is currently $999. It is a great option for shorter riders. It's what I recommended to my neighbor who is 5'3 (if that) and she loves it! As a reminder I have a coupon code for another $60 off MISSGOE60 velotricbike.info/3Y34kBd
The Discover 1 has a cadence sensor. The next generation Discover 2 has a torque sensor and we are reviewing it this weekend! More information here: velotricebike.pxf.io/k0qMEv
They each have their own strengths and appeal to slightly different buyers. Did you watch each of our reviews? In one month, the landscape of this category will change. This is the season for new models and we have reviews in production. -Producer Tim
My dear the can go 25 MPh if you unlock it on the Display you just set the highest Kilometers using google twenty five miles an hour if you set the higher kilometers
Yes. Fully charged, all bars show. This bike has been updated, though. New version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R5IrplJ36kY.html -Producer Tim
The key is only for removing the battery. This ebike doesn't require a key to power on. Some ebikes have passcodes for security purposes but this one does not.
I just bought one. I've ridden it twice. I can say with out question that I do NOT like it. I cannot find the balance. The control for power up is not what i want. It just does not feel right. For the money I expected more user friendly. It does poorly off road like on a dirt road. I will probably sell it. Look before you leap.
Perhaps you should consider looking outside of the budget class for an eBike with a torque sensor. We have reviewed dozens of those. Deals.missgoelectric.com -Producer Tim
Santa Cruz where I bought the villatrac one they don't have the two and they don't know if we're going to get it cuz we're down here in Southern California and Santa Cruz
