I think that has to come with the territory when his dad is one of the most iconic voices in the genre's history. Saying he sounds like his dad is a compliment of the highest order.
@@brodieyake7735 I wouldn't say as much, it's just the inheritance of (partly) his dad's vocal cords + a similar screaming technique (probably a better technique than the one his dad used at his age). Screaming like Corey isn't the hardest thing in the world but Griffin sounds more similar than others because he's literally his son.
Small message to Griffin, Simon, Cole, JJ, and Grod: Please don’t ever think about stopping. You guys truly are incredible musicians and great people. I see a great future for you boys and I hope that you know that too. Keep up the amazing work and I hope to see you guys headline stadiums in the future 🤘
Their music is all over the place and doesn't translate so well live....but Give them a few years...their writing, their sound will get tighter and tighter...just hope being thrust into world tours this early into their career isn't going to screw them up too bad...they can stay brothers and not let it destroy them completely
Whoever was on sound for this show was awful, I’ve seen them live in a tiny basement venue and the sound was incredible despite how tiny the venue was.
Their studio stuff sounds absolutly good. But I'm pretty sure it sounds doffrent live because of the recording. You could barely hear 1 guitar and the other you almost can't hear it. So it sounds a bit empty in the recording of the live show. But I'm sure ot sounds way better live. Or maybe the sound engineer just made a big F up.
Wow the bloodline is right there for all us to see. His fathers vocals and face perfectly shine from one generation to the next. Like father like son and I mean that in a respectful compliment. As young as he is he'll definitely grow and go places in his life. The world is his............A+++ Thumbs UP!
Yo Griffin and Simon. Keep it up. Forget all the negative comments, seriously! Im sure Corey told you what type of backlash would come and probably told you it wont last as well. In this age your entire evolution is under a microscope and every asshole wants to put in their 2 cents and thats about all their opinion is worth. Im a lifelong Slipknot fan. Now im a Vended fan as well. Critics will blow hot air. Just keep doing what youre doing. Only opinion that matters is your own. But who am I?
These dudes are far from being festival good…talk about nepotism at its best …this is a giant slap in the face to all the actual talented bands out there grinding
They're all great musicians but they don't sound like a band quite yet. Give them another year or two, tighten up their playing, find their sound, and tweak some of the lyrics/melodies and they're gonna do some damage.
They should if they attract the young bros, it's a mixed bag with the legacy angle. It's competitive on some level, especially with Corey's wide genre base. He can sing his ass off. These guys can draw the Iowa sound crowd as a default as a stepping stone. I'm not aware of many new gen bands either, hopefully they can rekindle the scene too. They'll have to make names for themselves long term. Touring seems to make or break bands as much as album composing.
Sounds nothing like corey (not saying I want him too, just disagreeing with the dilusional people in the comments) His talking voice obviously sounds like corey its his dad...Also way too soon for these guys. They need to live a little more before thinking about engaging with a crowd that doesnt relate to them at all, especially at this time in their lives
It’s kinda hard not to sound like his father when his father is COREY FUCKING TAYLOR. He has his own voice, but at the end of the day he is related to him
There are thousands of great bands that will never get a third of the opportunities they already had, with just a few (not great) singles released. It's really sad how the world works.
I feel like there’s a lot of potential here, but they definitely need some polishing on their writing and execution of their songs. Stage presence is great, but don’t sacrifice performance for appearance
If feel like Griffin should be more his own man instead of acting like Corey (espacially when he talks to the crowd) but I guess that's just his personnality.
Bro when he speaks its so similar to Corey's, its obvious that physical similarities are common but he sounded so much like when he speaks, I don't feel that singing is that similar but when he talked it was Corey haha
Now that Jay is gone, there are rumors that Shawn’s son will be the new drummer for slipknot and Corey’s son will be the vocalist once his dad is retired
i read that you are exactly 50% your mom's DNA and 50% your father's DNA although which parts you get may vary. this lil dude got lucky AF to get his dad's voice and musical talents
Man is this Crazy!
Must be nice to be given a career because of who your father is… never have to go thru the struggles of building your sound and hoping to one day get the shot at fame or whatever you will call it
@@nathangaskins9937 no I actually can’t see the talent. I think there music and performance are weak. I think he needs more training or training as a front man and vocalist is
Mano os pirraia é o novo Slipknot bota fé? Os mlk são bons, vem sucesso no Metal em breve aí em pode escrever saporr4 aqui. É nós car4lho!!! \m/ slipknot fan since 1998.
I don't know, for sure guys doing a good job, but this is super mediocre, like cmon, I heard such music 20 years ago, this all sound like slipknot bsides, totally forgettable
En parte llevas razón, ya que si está en festivales y da conciertos es muy seguro que su padre meta mano para ayudarle a entrar. Sin embargo creo que tienen talento y como cantante es muy bueno, osea que se merecen estar ahí
