Instead of scotch tape, i use paint tape on the toploader. They're much easier for consumers to peel/remove and it doesn't leave any sticky parts on the toploader, you should give it a try. You can get a big roll of it at a dollar store lol

Thank you so much for making this video and the setting up TCG Player seller video. Both were super handy. I’m looking to get into selling MTG cards and this was the best video on these two topics. Maybe revisit and make a little broader/ generic titled video tagging for other trading card games to get more traffic to your channel. I’m sure there are a lot more people who would like this info. Thank you again. Keep the videos coming

Great content. I'm not sure how TCG works, but i do a lot of sports cards through ebay and social media. Majority of the stuff I ship is through USPS. I know I make it a priority to have tracking on all my items just to make sure they arrive and also to guarantee my buyers that I have shipped the item. There's a big controversy in the sports market about not sending with Plain white envelopes which is why we mainly stick to bubble mailers. I'm not sure if that's something you may look into when it comes to pricier cards. I know I can't/won't trust a plain white envelope when I send out like a $100 sports card.
@rogueduelisttrade7043
@rogueduelisttrade7043 4 года назад
Very fair statement. Yes, perhaps for $100+ cards, use a bubble envelope. For me, if I sell a higher dollar card, I sleeve the card, put it in a top loader, then get two more top loaders, sandwich them onto the card in top loader, and tape all of the sides. I then put it in the envelope and put a strip of tape down to keep it moving during shipment. So essentially it is three bundled top loaders. So far, no issues from my side, but I think the bubble envelopes provides a greater level of assurance. I always include tracking for sales $20+. Sports Card world I'm sure is unique in some areas - very interesting.

@@rogueduelisttrade7043 toploaders can become rather pricey. Ive opened lots of retail/hobby stuff and so I prefer not to use my toploaders as protection. What you could do is use cardboard. Literally takes like a minute to cut out 2 pieces of cardboard that covers the card. Lots of the guys in the sports card market do it. Id also recommend painters tape. You can use it on the top of the toploader so cards don't slide out. Especially like yugioh cards. Theyre thin and move in a top loader. Painters tape dont leave a residue on the toploader so the buyer can atleast reuse it
@rogueduelisttrade7043
@rogueduelisttrade7043 4 года назад
Top Loaders have recently become very pricey because they are scarce - absolutely agree on that. I have seen the cardboard method before and it has been good when I am on the receiving end. The Yu-Gi-Oh community is kinda funny about it overall though, at least in the US. That method is used a lot in the EU/ UK though. Painters tape is a great tip! I'll definitely use that

Kinda late so you might not see this but any chance you'd make a video showing your packing process? I'm a bit confused on that part and it would be awesome to see a video showing the whole process from when you open your orders tab on tcg player all the way till it's ready to get sent out packaged and ready. And to show the difference in packing a $15+ single card vs 5 or so $1 cards. Thanks!

As far as the label maker, do you use that for shipping with the thin envelopes? I did not know the post office accepted that and stamps. Also, when shipping expensive cards, would you recommend tracking with a small bubble mailer rather than the thin envelope just to ensure that everything is delivered?

I wish I could be as motivated to sort and sell/trade my cards in a timely manner, I have about 20 of those storage boxes full of commons rares and just foil bulk from cases/boxes/collections I've accumulated over the years, some I have sold and traded but it's always such a slow process for me to keep up with. I even have 2 sorting trays similar to yours but have just been used to temporarily store stacks of cards until I get around to either assembling more storage boxes or put them in toploaders/binders. I couldn't tell ya how many times I've missed the boat when some cards become hyped. At least I've been able to capitalize on some of the more recent trends but just seems so overwhelming whenever I get started where I last left off.

Good question. You would have to print a label by purchasing tracking through Ebay. If you don't use ebay, you can pay for tracking through sites like easyship.com. I use my thermal printer that I mentioned in this video for printing labels with tracking.

Honestly really don’t like getting cards taped in the envelope. I feel like the movement wouldn’t be much to worry about. That’s just my opinion, but it really bothers me when receiving card taped to the inside of bubble mailers or envelopes. Envelopes are not as annoying, i like i recycle the bubble mailers and am forced to destroy them if they’re taped to the inside. But i always feel like i am bending the card more than necessary trying to get the top loaders out of either envelopes, or bubble mailer. Just wanted to give you some of my feedback. Your video is great though, it helped me quite a bit. Thanks brotha ✌️

@PTCG Trader, honestly, the bigger envelopes were cheaper and have a lot more flexibility in how it can be used. For example, if someone buys out some of my inventory (like 20 cards), I can make two stacks in one envelope because of the extra length. For smaller orders, I use tape to keep the cards from moving around. So far, I have had no issues with this style of packaging. At the end of the day, I think having the smaller envelopes are better, especially for smaller quantity orders, but for some odd reason, they are more expensive and I don't think it is worth the value.
@ohghee
@ohghee 2 года назад
I refuse to use tape. I get criticized for saying this all the time but I will forever use, and encourage others to use, self seal "team bags" instead of tape. I know it adds a few cents cost to your orders but it's more Profesional looking and 0 risk of adhesive rubbing onto a card if sealed properly
