Recent headlines about the safety of San Francisco have landed business owners in the position of having to defend the city where they earn their living. One business is a San Francisco staple. Reed Cowan reports.
Average 74 car break ins a day in SF. There's only so much average citizens can do. Not gonna solve a problem if we won't talk about the root cause of the problem. The city's leaders are more focused on publicity and feel-good approaches than addressing the underlying issues effectively.
I go there all the time and bring new people too. People are always pleasantly surprised to find out that these cookies taste way better than other fortune cookies out there. They are nicely browned and crispy. My favorite are the large flat cookies. Put the bag in a gallon sized Ziploc bag when you get home to keep them fresh for longer. I like that the lady throws in some extra cookies in the reusable bag that you receive/pay for - so that we can snack on additional cookies as we explore Chinatown. I recommend buying a couple bags and giving them as gifts. I hope Kevin takes some time off. It's hard to keep going 7 days a week. Maybe he can find a trusted partner or employee to run it in his absence?
Great segment and great to see something uplifting about the City. Btw, Jen, really appreciated you taking a minute to chat with me the other day as you were rolling out. Safe travels and thank you and Wil for all the great content!
me and my cousin will be visiting china town in august. me from miami and him from ny . we plan to go to the fortune cookie factory. please dont close it down!!
Oh great last thing we need is people realizing how safe and vanilla this town is and start replacing the other transplants who finally left! Rent was just getting unaffordable instead of ludicrously unaffordable
He needs to change his fortunes to reflect current trends. For example: "Your car may be gone, but memories lingers on", "Man in tent will unburden your wealth", etc
The city is falling apart... go overseas and see how a developed country is safe and has a lot less crime... also it is wayyyy cheaper. The news is just advertising and not a true reflection of the reality.
