Great video! You showed even fondaco dei tedeschi rooftop terrace, that is not so well known. This is one of the four public rooftop Venice viewpoints and the only that is free.
I am researching ready for 2021 when its my big birthday. I want to go to Venice. I have watched so many vlogs and this has been one of the most helpful. Thank you
Two things. A gondola traghetto would have taken you across the Grande Canale for 2€. Yes, a real gondola trip for 2€. And the ferry direct to Arsenale from the airport would have been a better and quicker option, as well as allowing you to see some of the rest of the lagoon.
Thank you for sharing the information. I go to Venice at the beginning of September and I would love to know where is possible to take the Grande Canale for 2€. Thank you in advance.
Hello James and Holy, thank you for the video , and budget tips are quite helpful. Would please recommend me a budget friendly cafe for breakfast and good coffee.
Ticket for 7,5 on vaporetto is a very bad deal, you should buy 72 hour ticket for 30 EUR or if you under 30 years old you can buy a special ticket for museums for 28 EUR which include 72h vaporetto ticket. To see Venice from gondola simply look for tregetto for 1,5 EUR, it's obviously not the same but much closer to gondola expirience.
Thank you for this wonderful video! My adult son and I are going next Spring 2023 and we're really going to study videos like yours to have a more enjoyable vacation. We both tend to get stressed and crabby when things are difficult (lol) so we're trying to really get a solid idea before we go so we can see (and eat) lots of things. Your picks for food are right on target! Thanks again.
A cafe tip: if you stand up a the bar the coffee is the cheapest, sit down inside the cafe and it will cost you a bit more - sit outside and it will be even more!!
Another awesome video James. We loved Venice when we went, but did not know about the viewing platform on top of the shopping centre so will definitely be trying that next time we visit.
thank you for this video! it looks amazing and you have incredible tips. On the downscale though - when we were researching on Hotel Nuovo Tesson - there were so many horrible reviews by previous tourist so we were apprehensive about booking our stay there.
Also get a day pass or a two day pass rather than paying €7.50 per shot for a water boat. Then get a boat 2 down the Grand Canal at a quiet period - do Murano or Burano too and the cemetery island which is also worth a look. Also just wander mindlessly around Venice after dark, getting completely lost.
Brilliant video..!! Especially to detail on a Budget getaway trip, so well done you two for making this video it looks Amazing..!! My Wife and i are going in 2020 can't wait yippeeeeeee..!!
questions- to access the bell tower and the basilicas terrace, when you bought the tickets was there long lines? also where do you buy them? did you buy them the same day or prior? thank you in advance we will be in venice in october
As someone who didn’t booked a ticket online and went to the basilica during a high-season (summer in july). Going to the basilica itself had a long line (took me 30min, which i dont find it that long cuz i was chatting with my friends while waiting for my turn). Once you get into the basilica, the line to get to the terrace is not long, actually there was no line to wait!
Of corse budget is relative… but if you can afford to actually go to Venice we show you how to see Venice on the ‘cheap’ side as it can be very expensive. That’s why we show you how to do things for a few euros and even things for free
