A family favorite dish in our house. Cheesy, easy to make and delicious!
You'll need the following ingredients:
1 pound of ground venison
1 small yellow onion diced
1 8oz pack of sliced and cleaned mushrooms
8oz of Velveeta (sliced) or shredded cheese of choice
10.5 oz of beef broth of choice
15 ea of drained canned sweet corn and diced tomatoes
1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream (can substitute with milk)
2 cups of macaroni noodles
1 pack of Lipton recipe secrets onion mix
1 tsp each of garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper
stick butter for cooking
Heat a large pan and add butter to saute mushrooms and onions. Do the mushrooms first by themselves for a bit then add onions. If you need to add extra butter, do so now.
Once the mushrooms are browned and the onions are starting to caramelize, pull to the side and add in the 1 pound of ground venison.
Season meat with garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper.
Cook venison until browned. Ensure that you work the meat into small pieces as it is browning.
After the venison is browned, mix back in the onions and mushrooms. Sift in the Lipton recipe mix to get only the seasoning in. You don't need the dry onions.
Add in beef broth and stir.
Add in canned corn and diced tomatoes (drained) and stir.
Add in the 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream (or milk) and stir.
Once that is all mixed start to add in the Velveeta cheese slices. Melt all the cheese into the dish stirring as you melt.
Once the cheese is all melted add in the macaroni noodles.
Set timer for 8 minutes on medium or slightly less than medium heat.
After 8 minuets, remove from heat and let stand for a 5 minutes to finish cooking the macaroni before serving.
Prep time: 10 minutes.
Cook Time: 30 - 45 minutes.
