Paraphrasing a great comedian: "The English spend their whole lives terrified. I tried ordering some coffee and the woman at the desk said: We're all out of coffee, I'm afraid"
Jungle has been making huge movements back to the scene championed by the youngsters who listened to it with their jungle raving parents, better bass lines and a lot lot heavier/Deeper… ie Dillinja and his tune Friday ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--1jirTXoc1M.htmlsi=IOJ94jjjySKhEiha 🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽👍💯👍
Ah yes. Spending nights at the radio with the tape deck getting ready to record some new tunes so I can bring it with me on my walkman. How time flew...
I'm a 43 year old American who grew up in whatever we called a jungle/drum and bass scene in the late 90s. I will to this day never forget being on the same bill as Goldie for a show at a rather small venue in Tampa, Florida. It's my claim to jungle fame. I was a shit DJ, got by soley on my eagerness and hardworking for the street team of my local DJ crew. I always appreciate them letting me in and giving me a taste of performance. I wouldn't say it was a phase, cuz I still listen to drum and bass to this day, albeit not at all caught up with the current music. Cool story bro.
I have a similar story.. Played on the same stage as Goldie. But not on the jungle night. Was an outdoor party. I was w/ a production group who had a side tent. It was around 2am. Had a busy day, and was turning off for the night. Had a beer in hand. Had just done a big ole line of K. Then someone busts in the tent. The headliner for the main stage is late. (sadly can't remember who :( Someone from the UK.. This party was in the US, middle of nowhere). They needed someone to DJ, and couldn't find anyone, so came and got me! I was well practiced, but basically a hobby DJ. I threw raves, and DJ'd w/ friends all the time, but I was not a professional DJ. But, I grabbed my record crate and headed to the stage.. High on K. Unable to walk straight. But it was all good. Crowd had a good time. I played for almost an hour, when the dj finally showed up.
So good, always good to here stories from people in the 90s (and today as well), as I was only a wee nipper back then, so never got to experience it, but as a 90s kid, it runs through my veins and I love it, love it, love it.
My Dad loved drum and bass/jungle and introduced me to so much. I wish he was alive so i could share my discovery of Venjent with him 😢 i miss you Dad. Love is the answer ❤
Let this music pay tribute to your dad and the introduction to this genre for you 🙏 I’m sure he would be very proud of this comment and your memory of him. I wish you all the love & the vibes 🫶 love is the answer Vx
I feel blessed to have been introduced to DnB and Jungle as a kid, the funny thing is that the person who introduced it was my mom! I wish you love and happiness! ❤
So crazy how Venjent just burst unto the scene and have produced banger after banger after banger, I mean, WHAT? HOW? Not complaining it's just crazy how fast he has achieved god-tier status. 10/10
I don't even listen to this genre of music. I just discovered Venjent with Create Machines and I've loved everything he's done since and many things from before.
Well, first he goes and gets the samples, then he adds the buzzz, mixes in the drum machine, throws in a Vvoooooowmm, and finally sometimes he'll pick out tracks to make them all go VwmVwmVwmVwmVwm.
This makes me so happy. I found Jungle before DnB as a kid, and DnB just always felt like jungle-lite to me. The name isn't as ubiquitous as Drum-n-Bass, but Jungle will always be my favorite type of electronic music.
I'm amazed how that long text line is arranged, that it will not destroy the flow. Great job Venjent. That man's work hits as hard as a truck. Keep going.
I used to listen to jungle religiously in the early 90s. As a random Norwegian with friends that didn\t even came close to enjoying the UK dance scene, this is like opening a portal to my youth. Absolute banger
this is a sample golden stuff, the voice and tone the tv dude uses for "we need jungle I am affraid" even the way he never even looks at the camera, he was already imagining like billion different jungle covers of this in his head, this feels like if in a quizz tv show located in CZE the dude would ask "what kind of a drink Czech Republic is most known for?" and someone 100 % of czech dna would scream into the mic "wine!"
Good to see others in there 40’s feeling the nostalgia vibe. When jungle came over to the states and the UK DJ’s did there thing with it in the smaller New York jungle rooms …it was epic. Venjent stay awesome thank you
It's a 100% a generation thing, i'll send some of my younger friends tunes like this, that get me fucking MOVING in my living room and they just dont get it. These boys didnt grow up in the pirate undergrounds.
@@mcspiffington It's not a generational thing, it's just that your younger friends have different tastes. Jungle isn't the most accessible genre. By the way, I like it a lot and I'm probably even younger than your friends.
I know the genre doesn't make as much money as being a House DJ, but i'm glad there are people out there that still love and produce the stuff. Steady on my captain!
For younger people who missed the fabulous Drum n base period in the 90s and want to hear best examples of it go ahead and listen to early albums by Squarepusher: Feed Me Weird Things and Hard Normal Daddy. You are welcome. Enjoy :D
Hi Venjent my friend. I appreciate immensely your free videos. I have listened to them while walking at work, trying not to headbang in public. In solitude in a semi sober state thinking about life, at a party through a speaker that deafened anyone close by. I will buy each and every song i have listened and enjoyed so far. Thank you. Also make more of the songs that i liked the most, (its the one that i am purchasing) I know its a selfish request but i am a hedonistic human. Drums n bass baby.
Открыл Венджента для себя с этого крышесносного трека. И всё, братцы, прусь неимоверно! Талантище! Заводит не по-детски!!! #КипОнРокин!!! Thank you Venjent for your insanely shining Music! Keep On Rockin'!!!
Realtalk: More and more "We need Jungle" Tracks appearing on Spotify and they can't compare to this masterpiece. Seems to be possible to release it without any further problems, so please: GO FOR IT! Bring this BANGER officially.
When was the last time a jungle tune got over 300 000 views in a matter of days??? Congrats Venjent, being an old junglist myself it just warms the heart too see and a great smile, video is funny af!
I grew up at my dad's work, a puppet theater - everyday after school i went there to do my homework, while dad was working and then home. Once (probably 1997) i played apollo 440 and some other jungle tunes on my discman, which i connected to the stage amps(huge), lit only 2 stage lights and let them blink and sat in the middle of rows. It was amazing! And i blew one very expensive amp stage😅 but it was a cosmic experience. Whenever i hear jungle - i get back to this moment.
Soy chileno 🇨🇱 Desde los 90 escuchando jungle en mis parlantes.. está es la verdadera cultura urbana !! Tengo 37 años y amo el hip hop y la electrónica
@@kylelitteken5904I'm 99% sure they were joking. I mean, if you know it's called the amen break, you also know it wasn't written by someone named amen. Surely.
I started listening to Jungle when it first came out as a genre and I never stopped listening to it. It remains one of my top EDM genres, and I still need Jungle, I'm afraid...but I also accept Drum n Bass 😸 Thank you for this absolute banger, Venjent ❤
@@mozzjones6943 I'm 52 now. I was a part of the very early rave scene on the east coast of the US, so like around mmm...1991? And then I stayed a part of it for almost a decade. It was a fascinating time looking back on it now, and the scene as it was changed quite a bit over that time period. Anyway, at least in my circle of friends, we used to kind of lump all "rave" music under the term techno and then separate it into its subgenre from there, e.g. house, breaks, hardcore, etc. I like the umbrella term EDM now because it's pretty universal, with all the subgenres fitting below that. What's the umbrella term for electronic dance music that you use in the UK? I'm always interested in these little nuances in culture.
In getting the answer "wrong" (it wasn't), more was done for the dnb/ jungle community than if she got it "right" as shown by this work. That's the most beautiful part to me. Good job Venjent.
