Jeff Dunn's solo at the beginning of the song is unique to me. Either it's a fundamental misunderstanding of how music is actually composed or a fantastic mistake. I am totally fine with it either way.
@@TorgMetal Don't ruin it!! Even if the actual word is "madness" and not Mantas, I've always heard "Mantas" and I will keep saying "Mantas". It just sounds cooler. Were it not for Mantas actually jumping in with a shredding solo immediately after, I might be persuaded to accept "madness"... that, and bloodlust can be considered a form of mental illness or madness... but let's not ruin such a cool "invocation" with logic. 😛
Venom brought the big, fat sound we needed long before anything like Metallica or Mega even existed. They were pioneers. Bloodlust is one of my favorites. When Mantas begins that incredible solo after Cronos screams “Mantas,” you know you’re listening to a masterpiece of metal. That always sends a shiver through my body.
From the guttural "oohh!" grunts and maniacal laughter to the proclamation of being "vampire supreme", this is probably my favorite Venom song. Macabre and funny, over the top and just plain awesome \m/
you all probably dont give a damn but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the account password. I would love any help you can give me.
Cronos talking to Geddy Lee in 1982. "Your bass playing on A Farewell To Kings and Hemispheres influenced me massively", Geddy's reply, "I hope I didn't cramp your style." lol
*HOW TO VENOM:* *00:07**: START WITH DAT FAKKIN LAUGH THOUGH* *00:10**: DAT SEXY ROCKIN BEAT THOUGH* *:**00:24**: REMIND YOUR GUITAR PLAYER BY YELLING HIS NAME THAT IT'S ALREADY TIME TO BLAST A FUCKIN KILLER SOLO FEW SECONDS AFTER THE SONG STARTED* *00:38**: MICROPHONE LEMMY STYLE* *01:44**: SECOND REMINDER FOR A FUCKIN KILLER SOLO* *02:04**: BASS-HEADBANGING ON THE FLOOR LIKE YOU NEVER DID BEFORE* *02:45**: END WITH DAT FOKIN LAUGH THOUGH* *OPTIONS: A SHIT LOAD OF SMOKE ON THE STAGE*
This video was such a big influence on me and my guitar playing when I first started playing electric guitar as a teen in the early 80's. The dark image, speed and heavy guitar sounds blew me away!
Venom is undoubtably the most under credited band in the world for the fucking influence they had on the music world especially of the 80’s and 90’s These guys and Motörhead basically shaped the 80’s extreme metal scene in the same manner Van Halen shaped the general sound of the Rock World in the 80’s Satanic imagery in Metal? Not without these guys Without these guys we wouldn’t have Thrash, Death, Black, Groove, Nu, (insert)Core, Djent, Power metal. No Metallica, Korn, Sepultura, Anthrax, Sodom, Kreator, Megadeth, Slayer, SOAD, Power wolf, Pantera, Death, Possessed, Bathory, Mayhem, Celtic Frost, Burzum And if you look at the implications that Metal had on the music world especially by allowing extreme forms of music to be popular Maybe also no mainstream Gangsta Rap, Drill or whatever because simply they probably would have been banned or nobody listened to it because it’s too extreme.
I remember the look on my guitar teachers face when I told him I wanted to learn to play this. It was crazy work on his part but he managed to get the tap sheet made for me to play this.
This is the song I wanted to hear in that fucking Venom movie, not that lame shit by Eminem. Venom is literally the most metal comic-book character you can think of.
I'm listening to this song for the first time with good headphones and I just realized that the bassline in the solo section at 1:47 sounds really evil.
These guys were REAL PIONEERS...they had this crazy thrash/black/death sound a couple whole YEARS before full thrash hit the scene in like about 1983...multiple big records came out in 83. Show no Mercy by Slayer, kill em all by metallica...
Imagine the impact in 1982, worth churches on fire for that time. The Children of Lord ''Black Adder'' Aarseth can't possibly realize the rush of blood to the head this was; WTH and BM define the essence of (yes...) proto-Black Metal, but all built upon unseen and unmatched rawness, boldness, bouffonnerie, sheer Geordiness and freaking brilliant stage antics, for the desired purpose of setting England at war with Satan . Venom crossed my path around this time, at 19, and I always felt there was something medieval about them, something darkly Shakespearean, yet as over the top as Python and Spinal Tap together. We can't complain, now we have not one but TWO Venom's, and Mantas lives in Portugal. Hip-hip-hip Hurrah!
Gabriel Rearte That is the NWOBHM ... they are the responsable to create the speed metal and some of the first Thrash metal songs... The are some bad ass bands like Satan , Tank , Angel Witch , Grim reaper that are similar to Venom with some punk rock influence
Satan will be coming to my country this year, they are one of my favourite bands of all times. The most underrated and the most original band of the NWOBHM bandwagon. His unique blend of proto power/thrash is amazing for his era
I've never seen this vid in it's absolute entirety before, there's always an early fade, or an intro to the vid, but this is the real raw deal, and there is no heavier video than Bloodlust by Venom!! ( been saying that since the early 80's ) Cheers, Die Hard!
Come on turn it up, MANTAS!! Stalking the night, feeding fast on my prey Draining the life till the dawn of the day Drinking and sucking, the blood rushing sweet Half crazed with glory, half crazed in the heat Blood lust Tearing the flesh of the weak and the child Sparing no one, the meek and the mild I sink my fangs in your neck as you dream I am Count Cronos, vampire supreme Blood lust Blood lust upon me, I'm biting the flesh I'll take away your God given breath Now, I shall feast on your life giving blood Leave you to die on the land you once stood Blood lust
i remember in high school .these guys were the satanic metal band. haaa. there was the hair metal guys--then the 'heavy metal guys', the outcasts. haaaa. im 54, still love metal.
You can hear this version on the expanded remaster of "Welcome To Hell". There's another version on the expanded remaster of "Black Metal" as well but I don't think it's as cool as this version.
This is black metal and everyone who disagrees needs to listen to these blast fucking beats in 1981!!! Venom are power metal, black metal, venom metal but not heavy metal cuz that's for the chicks!
Ain't that the truth! VEVO sucks! Fake bunch of video hoarders only interested in how much money they can make off of bands. Record companies should pull all videos from them and do it theirselves.
