Bought a new accessory today for the garage. Something to get the front of the bike completely off the ground. It's solid. Check it out.

People you need the number 21 pin on the fz6r. So if you order the proper kit that has that pin you will save some $$$$.

I thought I was crazy glad I’m not the only one that didn’t get the right instructions for the front triple tree stand

Thank you for this video I had just unboxed my identical Venom head stock lift but was not sure how to assemble and if the darn thing woule actually even work! But seeing you lift your bike gives me confidence it is the perfect thing for my MT-10 which btw uses the 16.5 mm pin this lift comes with...luckily the horn bracket is way out of the way on this model. I am guessing I have to lput the rear on a stand first otherwise if the bike rolled forwrd it could (im guessing) fall off the headstock lift which is totally hinged in the middle. I crashed my bike and damaged the outer tube on one side so for a temporary fix I bought for an amazing price a seemingly perfect pair of gold YZF R1 forks which I plan to pop the bike up on the lift, yank the front wheel and calipers (fender was damaged too so it is already off with carbon fiber replcement due any day) then just slide out the black originals and slide the gold forks in their place! While I'm at it? Im gonna pop the rotors off the front wheel and using brake cleaner and wet dry sand paper Ill break the glaze and then put my OEM brake pads back in the calipers because the cause of my crash was failed fronnt brakes! I had "upgraded" the pads to aftermarket HH sintered pads at 900 miles new with a brand recommended on a discussion thread re the MT-10 but for whatever reason they faded TOTALLY in a very bad place! Hence the crash hence my need of this Venom stand....I'm like you no way I am paying big bucks for the PitBull....MAYBE if I were a pro but I probbly wont use this but maybe a few times a year cant justify top quality

They do suggest lifting the rear first I believe yes. Once the head is lifted you are free to do whatever u like. Everything can come off except the triple trees :) Nothing beats sexy gold forks !

21 mm pin on my triumph used different sockets to find a snug fit then measured the socket as to order the right size pin as only comes with smaller size pins

@RideThe6 3 года назад
Ya i picked up the extra pin kit with it, so I should have all the sizes, although i probably only need 1 or 2 :)

If I’d learn how to do fork seals, this stand would be perfect!

I can’t vouch for that bike but for 08 to 16 Yamaha R6, the pin is 16.5
@dougiequick1
@dougiequick1 8 месяцев назад
Yes that is true also for the MT-10 as well I imagine the R1. All three appear to have identical forks other than finish for later years though I imagine the triple trees differ a bit. (for the R6 Yamaha actually intentionally used a less beefy yoke than the R1 SO it will flesx a bit for proper handling...weird ehh? Hone would think it could not be to rigid....But I did notice the MT-09 based bikes seem to all use 19mm pins which seems strange the lesser models use larger pins...the bad thing about this for me is the standard Venom lift pins stops at 18mm and you have to either make due with an 18 or sleeve a smaller pin to be 19mm with a socket of scrap tubing ....and yes I also have the MT-09 platform bike too (Tracer 9 GT) so I am rather bummed this pin set only goes up to 19mm! Dang I dont want to buy the whole other set for one stinking mm! lol

Good little video again bud. Have you tried it on the FZ6R with the fairing in place, how'd it work?
@RideThe6
@RideThe6 4 года назад
No not yet.. This FZ6R is lowered, so I need to try it on stock height tomorrow as well.

Do you have any videos of lifting it from the forks? I just got the regular venom lifts and I’m having a tough time lifting this bike still and trusting it’s securness. These FZ6Rs are nearly impossible to lift. All I want to do is remove the damn tires.
@RideThe6
@RideThe6 Год назад
Nope. I only lift from the bottom triple tree. I dont really trust the fork lift. Seems a bit unstable to me.
@dougiequick1

I dont trust the regular fokr lift at all....I ALMOST lost a VStrom with that! My brother caught it in time ...This head stock lift It seems like it wont work but obviously it does very well! But with either model fron lift I assume one must first put the rear end up on a rear lift first so the bike is level and secure! So it cant roll forward collapsing the front lift!

I think I know the answer, but will ask anyway…if I am going to rebuild the forks on my 2012 FZ6R, and my lower triple tree also needs to be replaced because it is so rusted out, will the Venom stand (that I just purchased that hasn’t arrived yet) need to be supplemented for that part of the job with some other type of lift or stand configuration ?
@RideThe6
@RideThe6 Год назад
If you need to pull off the lower triple tree no the venom stand won't work. I used an engine hoist type thing to lift from the main frame.
@GnRKauai
@GnRKauai Год назад
Could I also use like two car stands/jacks (one on each side) under the frame instead of a hoist ya think ?
@RideThe6
@RideThe6 Год назад
@@GnRKauai Maybe. Haven't tried that. I've also seen people put a ladder over the bike and use that. Whatever you do make sure its safe and secure.
@dougiequick1
@dougiequick1 8 месяцев назад
duhh how can you remove and replace the yoke when THAT is what the lift is pinned into holding 400 pounds of motorcycle in the air! You will have to put the bike on a center lift of some sort maybe reverse left and right pegs (so they cant fold up) and use jack stands? I hear that works for some models

did you try it on the MV Agusta? did it work?
