During the summer of 2012, we cruised in Venture from Vancouver Island to Glacier Bay in south-east Alaska and returned via the historic town of Sitka. This video shows the spectacular fjords and glaciers in the vicinity of Juneau.
THIS IS THE MOST WONDERFUL AND AMAZING TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY I HAVE EVER SEEN!. THANK YOU. - I watch all your Venture Boats trips (Aleutians, Alaska, British Columbia, Europe, Ireland, England, California, Idaho, New York). All videos are properly edited and perfectly presented. All landscapes, scenes, nature, blue sky, grey sky, deep blue sea make me feel so good. I enjoy watching all your videos all time, every weekend from my home in Los Angeles. Even though I am not fortunate like you to circumnavigate the globe and travel on own boat, your sea journey and wonderful voyage videos have brought many delights and good feeling to me. We all ordinary people are grateful to you (Gratitude) for your generous and wonderful presentations. Thank you.
Stunning ... magnificent ... spectacular ... There are not enough adjectives to describe the beauty and splendour of the sights and scenes you have shared with us. I was sitting here with mouth open in amazement. That you so much for sharing.
What a trip that must have been. This video reminded me that I have settled in a boring life. I need to hit the road again this summer and case the sun and head parts unknown to me.
I wonder how much of this ice has permanently receded since this video was done? Stunning filmwork, amazing scenery, I don't know how I ended up on this youtube video but I sure am glad I did.
Eeeh, can you say "Weather Cycles?" Just google when the first voyage was done across the Arctic Ocean. It was in the later 19th century. (Sails, then.)
Beautiful boat , beautiful scenery and iam sure beautiful people who put all this together and share the experience, Loved Fleming boats since i was a kid :) hopefully I will do the same down here in The Red Sea one day! Thank you all for sharing !
Thank You so very much for this Beautiful venture Fleming Yaughts ! I enjoyed so much being with you all I felt as if I was with you on the Venture. Great camera work too this was amazing! Much gratitude for sharing your amazing trip .Linda from Florida 🤗
I watch all your Venture videos. I don't think one could get a tour of Alaska like this for less than a million dollars! Great cinematography and almost like actually being there.
Spectacular work Tony & Team, fjords and waterways like these are an eternity away from Australia. I love the challenging and isolated environment you shoot. I had the pleasure of seeing Redmond Ross in Australia recently and briefly meeting the owner, my boating will never be the same. Keep up the great work your vision is without peer..

I know for dure sir Jack Cousteau will look from above and will agree with me , again thank you, succes with your magnifisent ADVENTURE. From Holland.
wow I'm so glad to be able to view your adventure. I took a cruise ship to Alaska in 2018 but you were able to view close up scenes that I could not. Staggeringly beautiful country but everywhere we went, townspeople and tour guides warned us over and over that "Alaska kills". When we returned home, a woman I know told me that her 48 year old, wilderness experienced daughter, a resident of Juneau, disappeared on a hike near the town and her body was never found.
A wonderful video, calming when my soul needs it, waiting on Tropical Storm Alberto to make landfall in my own little paradise, Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
BOO! Spooky! Beautiful scenery but the waterway looks so dangerous to pass through. Thank you for posting. The serenity your video conveyed has made me sleepy now, so I must take a nap.. Enjoyed your video!
We have been blessed to go via Princess to Hubbard Glacier, Tracy and Endicott Arms all on crystal clear days and returned with our children and grandchildren so that all might see the splendor before it melts--the ships are quite well regulated as to position and noise allowances, but the aspect of this video and the access was truly amazing--thank you Flemings, Godspeed and safe journeys.
I do have an experienced captain on board but this is by no means essential provided you know how to navigate safely. There are excellent guide books such as "Exploring Southeast Alaska" by Don Douglas and Reanne Hemingway-Douglas published by Fine Edge.
As a mariner of 40 years I still think you are crazy to venture into these icy waters. One block of ice snagging with your propellor and your hooped or at least looking at vibrating trip into town ending with a big $$bill. But hey, more power to you.
We took an Alaskan cruise in 2017 and we were able to go to Tracey Arm. It was absolutely AMAZING!!! Hope to go back in 2019. It was breath taking. Well worth the trip.
You obviously have no idea when you say that the cruise ships don't stay away from the harbor seals they are very careful and heavily regulated to do what they can to stay away from the wildlife and not disturb it and their speeds are very slow they do an excellent job it is much more of a chore to cruise through the fjords in a thousand foot ship and they do it phenomenally.
Fantastic, this is my second time watching this adventure and had to add my penny's worth. The only criticism I have is that you left on this venture without me, shame on you;)
What was your crew complement on this voyage, and how many passengers? You mention your captain, Chris. Family member or hired captain? Fantastic adventure. I'd SO MUCH rather do this than a cruise ship!
Sorry for tardy response bur i have been cruising the west coast of Vancouver island where communications are few and far between. Chris the captain is a professional. I have had much experience in designing and building boats but somewhat lacking in having time to use them. Apart from myself we also had on board between two and three others with some boating experience - but not professionals. Four is a good number to have on board with six as a maximum. Venture is now in her 10th season and has in excess of 47,000 nautical miles under her keel.
Thank you for responding, Tony. Your videologues are very enjoyable and informative. As much as I'd like to take a cruise to Alaska, I'd much rather be on a Fleming 65 and enjoy the inner waterways as you did. It has inspired me to learn about maritime navigation.
Thank you for letting me live my dream through your adventures, wonderful film and have subscribed to your channel. I know i probably cannot afford a ship like Venture but i am curious how much it would cost, Over 3 million ?
To reproduce a Fleming 65 like Venture with all the electronics and other equipment would be more than 3 million USD. A smaller version eg the Fleming 55 would be closer to 2 million. There are also used boats available which are fine and cost much less. There are also other brands of used boats. For example, 20 year old fiberglass Grand Banks are excellent cruising boats and are very reasonably priced. The important thing to keep in mind is that you should own the boat. The boat should not own you! You can also charter eg, NW Explorations out of Bellingham.
You hit the nail on the head Frank. I doubt seriously that all those Global Warming Freaks were paying attention, 40 miles GONE. I think it’s safe to say It’s been around since the last ice age. It is a wonderful film. I was just in Juneau for a week and it’s one of the most beautiful places on earth, thank you for sharing
Watching the sun set off the channels in Juneau from the top of the Mt. Roberts Tram is a lifetime experience--thank you native nation for making this possible for my family.
love the video. I do have questions. what is the range of your boat, how many motors, and how much fuel your boat hold on board. looking to get something close to your. thanks in advance.
Another amazing video! Could you please explain your comment about “ the tidal gate is closing?” I’m the guy headed there next summer and is a little nervous!!! But incredibly excited! Any great knowledge you can give would be much appreciated! Thanks again!
There is nothing to be worried about when cruising the Pacific Northwest but you do have to pay attention to the tides. Water flowing through narrow channels can create rapids as the water at each end tries to equalize. When it does so, then you will have what is called "slack" water and this is the time to pass through the channel. Slack only lasts for a relatively short period. I referred to this as the "gate". I have a just completed a video to illustrate this which is due to upload on Nov 25th so look out for it. If you are a subscriber and have clicked the bell, you will be advised re upload - otherwise go to Flemingyachts.com and click on You Tube red arrow at top right of home page.
